Microbial fuel cell (MFC) can produce electricity from oxidation-reduction of organic and inorganic matters by electrochemically active bacteria as catalyst. Stacked MFCs have been investigated for overcoming low electricity generation of single MFC. In this study, two-typed stacked-MFCs (submerged-flat and stand-falt) were operated according to electrode connection for optimal stacked technology of MFC. In case of submerged-flat MFC with all separator electrode assembly (SEA) sharing anode chamber, MFC with mixed-connection showed more voltage loss than MFC with single-connection method. And MFC stacked in parallel showed better voltage production than MFC stacked in series. In case of stand-flat MFC, voltage loss was bigger when SEAs sharing anodic chamber only were connected in series. Voltage loss was decreased when SEAs parallel connected SEAs sharing anodic chamber were connected in series.
All kinds of monitoring data in construction site could have outlier created from diverse cause. In this study generation technique of synthesis value, its regression, final outlier detection and assessment are conducted to distinct outlier data included in extensive time series dataset. Synthesis value having weight factor of correlation between a number of datasets consist of many monitoring data enable to detect outlier by increasing its correlation. Standard artificial dataset in which intentional outliers are inserted has been used for assessment of synthesis value technique. These results showed increase of detection accuracy for outlier and general tendency in case of having different time series models in common. Accuracy of outlier detection increased in case of using more dataset and showing similar time series pattern.
Value at Risk(VaR) is being widely used as a simple tool for measuring financial risk. Although VaR has a few weak points, it is used as a basic risk measure due to its simplicity and easiness of understanding. However, it becomes very difficult to estimate the volatility of the portfolio (essential to compute its VaR) when the number of assets in the portfolio is large. In this case, we can consider the application of a dimension reduction technique; however, the ordinary factor analysis cannot be applied directly to financial data due to autocorrelation. In this paper, we suggest a dimension reduction method that uses the time-series factor analysis and DCC(Dynamic Conditional Correlation) GARCH model. We also compare the method using time-series factor analysis with the existing method using ordinary factor analysis by backtesting the VaR of real data from the Korean stock market.

In this study, a single-phase quasi Z-source AC-AC converters with a series connection of the output terminals is proposed. The proposed system has configuration that the input terminals of two quasi Z-source AC-AC converters are connected in parallel and its output terminals are connected in series. The out of phase mode and in phase mode of the proposed system are presented. To verify the validity of the proposed converter, a DSP controlled hardware was made and PSIM simulation was executed. As a result, controlling the duty ratio of the converter, the desired buck-boost output voltages could be generated. For each modes, as compared with the single converter operation, the proposed converter could enhance the efficiency and input power factor according to different loads. Also, in case of the out of phase mode under the constant load, the efficiency and input power factor of the proposed system are increased 10[%], 35[%] respectively in compared with the single converter. And, the output voltage is constantly controlled in dynamic state in case while the load is suddenly changed.
Objectives: This was a retrospective case series about the clinical effect of integrated approach with behavior therapy for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Methods: Medical records of twelve patients with OSA who were treated with behavior modification including nasal breathing with oral appliances and sleep in lateral position, oral administration of herbal medicines and acupuncture treatment between January and September of 2013 were reviewed. Apnea-hypopnea index (AHI), day time sleepiness, apneas and hypopneas counts during sleep, risk indicator (RI), oxygen desaturation index, average saturation during sleep, lowest desaturation, lowest saturation, snoring events ratio and number of desaturations (%) were assessed before and after treatments with the ApneaLink device, which is a portable diagnostic apparatus for monitoring airflows of the patient's breath at home. Results: After an average 62.67 (SD 37.16) days of treatment, AHI (from 17.67, 12.79 to 8.75, 8.25, p=0.007), RI (from 22.00, 13.26 to 12.09, 8.03, p=0.004), oxygen desaturation index (from 17.33, 12.17 to 8.17, 7.86, p=0.005), and number of desaturations (from 7.00 times, 9.79 to 0.92 times, 1.39, p=0.044) showed significant improvement. Daytime sleepiness improved from 6.5 (3.2) to 3.8 (1.8) but there was no significant difference after treatment (p=0.17). No adverse events related to treatment were observed during participation in the treatment. Conclusion: From this case series, we found that behavior modification with herbal medication and acupuncture may be effective for improving sleep apnea without serious adverse events. Future randomized controlled trials with larger sample size will be necessary for concrete evidence on the benefit of this integrated treatment for OSA.

Objectives: Leiomyosarcoma is a malignant neoplasm that affects smooth muscle tissue and it is very rare in the field of oral and maxillofcial surgery. The purpose of this study was to obtain information on diagnosis of and treatment methods for leiomyosarcoma by retrospectively reviewing of the cases. Patients and Methods: The study included nine patients who were diagnosed with leiomyosarcoma in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Seoul National University Dental Hospital. The subjects were analyzed with respect to sex, age, clinical features, primary site of disease, treatment method, recurrence, and metastasis. Results: Particular clinical features included pain, edema, mouth-opening limitations, dysesthesia, and enlarged lymph nodes. All cases except one were surgically treated, and recurrence was found in two cases. Four of nine patients were followed up without recurrence and one patient underwent additional surgery due to recurrence. Conclusion: In our case series, notable symptoms included pain, edema, mouth-opening limitations, and dysesthesia; however, it was difficult to label these as specific symptoms of leiomyosarcoma. Considering the aggressive characteristics of the disease and poor prognosis, surgical treatment is necessary with careful consideration of postoperative radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
Background: High string instrument (violin, viola) players are at high risk for developing musculoskeletal problems. In particular, a higher prevalence of shoulder problems has been reported. However, evidence of the effectiveness of therapeutic exercise for musicians with this condition is lacking until now. Objects: This case series study investigated the effect of a specific exercise program on shoulder pain, dysfunction, and posture of professional orchestral high string musicians. Methods: Five professional orchestral high string players with shoulder pain participated in this study. A six-week specific exercise program focus on scapular stability for shoulder pain consisted of scapular muscle exercise. Physical examinations for pain and dysfunction, posture were performed, were identified among all subjects before starting the exercise program. Results: The results revealed that shoulder pain decreased by 67.86% and the effect of pain on instrument play decreased by 63.33%. The shoulder pain and disability Index and the performing arts module-quick disability of the arm, shoulder and hand scale decreased by 71.72% and 51.61% respectively. The exercise program improved function and posture. Conclusion: A specific exercise program for high string players was effective in managing shoulder pain. This case series is intended to provide empirical data on the effectiveness of an exercise program aimed at assessing the effect of exercise on pain, dysfunction, and posture of professional orchestra musicians associated with specific instrument groups.

This study attempted to grasp the status and perception of Uljin Geumgangsong by grasping mass media issues and user perception using big data, and to present basic data when constructing monitoring using user perception by examining the establishment relationship of agenda setting from a time-series perspective. The results of collecting and analyzing text data that can identify mass media and visitor awareness are as follows. First, both mass media and visitor keywords were related to the importance of the value and meaning of Uljin Geumgangsong. Second, in the case of the connection network, Geumgang Pine Agriculture was centered, but in the case of difference in perception between mass media and visitors, such results were derived due to the object of interest. Third, in the case of the connection relationship structure, the connection strength was strong because there were many overlapping contents of mass media. Fourth, as a result of the centrality analysis, both mass media and visitor-aware keywords were positively recognized as spaces created and maintained through institutional support, and objective perception could be grasped by finding hidden keywords. Fifth, as a result of time series analysis, it was possible to grasp the flow through the issue keywords that appeared by period, and unlike the past, it was recognized as a place for tourism and travel. Finally, as a result of examining whether the agenda setting is consistent, there is a mass media influence, so it is thought that more diverse and more information and publicity are needed by utilizing it.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the amount of transportation of original canal, zip formation, permanent deformation and fracture of instruments after canal enlargement. In this study, the 60 resin blocks that have curved canals were randomly divided into 3 experimental groups with 20 teeth each according to instrument types and filling methods for canal enlargement. The curved canals of each experimental groups were enlarged to No 40 ISO size with the K-flexo stainless steel file (Group 1), Engine-driven Ni-Ti Profile new series(Group 2) and Engine-driven Ni-Ti Quantec 2000 series(Group 3) according to the manufacturer's recommendation. Pre- and postoperative X-rays were taken at same position and the films were scanned and the canal images were traced to determine the canal curvature according to the method of Schneider. The amount of reduction in canal curvature were calculated between pre- and postoperative X-rays. In addition to zip formation, permanent deformation and fracture of instruments were examined after canal enlargement. The results were as follows : 1. All experimental groups showed some loss of canal curvature after instrumentation. There was a significant change in curvature between before and after instrumentation in each group(p<0.001). 2. Engine-driven Ni-Ti instrumentations resulted in an average loss of curvature of 2.36 degrees for Profile new series, 3.43 degrees for Quantec series, and hand instrumentation showed an average loss of curvature of 6.48 degrees for K-flexo file. There was a statistical significant difference between hand instrumentation and engine-driven Ni-Ti instrumentations(p<0.05). But there was no statistical difference between Profile new series and Quantec series. 3. There were many apical zip formations in group 1(Hand instrumentation). But there were no apical zip formations in group 2,3(Engine-driven Ni-Ti instrumentation). 4. The instrument deformation occured 9 cases in group 1(K-flexo file), 2 cases in group 2(Profile new series) and 3 cases in group 3(Quantec) after instrumentation. And the instrument fracture occured 1 case in each group. The results showed that the engine-driven Ni-Ti instruments, if we use carefully according to manufacturer's recommendations, can be use effectively for instrumenting the curved root canals in case of the MAF was over size 40.
