Satellite formation flying can provide the platform for interferometric observation to acquire the precise data and ensure the flexibility for space mission. This paper presents development and verification of an algorithm to estimate the baseline between formation flying satellites. To estimate a baseline(relative navigation) in real time, EKF(Extended Kalman Filter) and UKF(Unscented Kalman Filter) are used. Measurements for updating a state-vector in Kalman Filter are GPS single difference data. In results, The position errors in estimated baseline are converged to less than ${\pm}1m$ in both EKF and UKF. And as using the two types of Kalman filter, it is clear that the unscented Kalman filter shows a relatively better performance than the extended Kalman filter by comparing an efficiency to the model which has a non-linearity.
In order to achieve a sustainable competitive advantage in the expanding maritime transportation market, most shipping companies are making every effort to reduce transportation costs. Likewise, the car shipping companies, which carry more than 80% of total car import and export logistics volume, also do their utmost for transportation cost saving. Until now many researches have been made for efficient maritime transportation, but studies for car shipping companies have rarely been made. For this reason, this study has tried to develop a maritime transportation planning support system which can help to save logistics costs and increase a competitive power of car shipping companies. To this end, instead of manual effort to solve the routing problem of car carrier vessels, this study has proposed a genetic algorithm. The performance of the genetic algorithm will be evaluated by comparing with the optimal solution of integer programming model.
The IEEE 802.11 wireless standard uses the carrier sense multiple access with collision avoidance (CSMA/CA) as its MAC protocol (during the distributed coordination function period). This protocol is an adaptation of the CSMA/CD of the wired networks. CSMA/CA mechanism cannot guarantee quality of service (QoS) required by the application because orits random access method. In this study, we propose a new MAC protocol that considers different types of traffic (e.g., voice and data) and for each traffic type different priority levels are assigned. To improve the QoS of IEEE 802.11 MAC protocols over a multi-channel CSMA/CA, we have developed a new admission policy for both voice and data traffics. This protocol can be performed in direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) or frequency hopping spread spectrum (FHSS). For voice traffic we reserve a channel, while for data traffic the access is random using a CSMA/CA mechanism, and in this case a selective reject and push-out mechanism is added to meet the quality of service required by data traffic. To study the performance of the proposed protocol and to show the benefits of our design, a mathematical model is built based on Markov chains. The system could be represented by a Markov chain which is difficult to solve as the state-space is too large. This is due to the resource management and user mobility. Thus, we propose to build an aggregated Markov chain with a smaller state-space that allows performance measures to be computed easily. We have used stochastic comparisons of Markov chains to prove that the proposed access protocol (with selective reject and push-out mechanisms) gives less loss rates of high priority connections (data and voices) than the traditional one (without admission policy and selective reject and push-out mechanisms). We give numerical results to confirm mathematical proofs.
A new Galvanomagnetic electrorootive force effect of $Ni_{53}-Fe_{47}$ thin films is studied. The dependence of this effect on $\theta$, angle between the current and the magnetic field, is found to be the form of sin $2\theta$, in contrast with that of the magneto resistance effect cas $2\theta$ and that of the Hall effect sin $\theta$. Property of this effect is that lthe rate of the voltage variation depending on the magnetic field is extremely large as compared with the magnetiresistance effect. It is theoretically confirmed that this effect is well understood on the basis of the two carrier types model.

In this paper, a 1.485 Gbps video signal transmission system using the carrier frequency of 240 GHz band was designed and simulated. The sub-harmonic mixer based on Schottky barrier diode was simulated in the transmitter and receiver. Both of heterodyne and direct detection receivers were simulated for each performance analysis. The ASK modulation was used in the transmitter and the envelop detection method was used in the receiver. The transmitter simulation results showed that the RF output power was -11.4 dBm($73{\mu}W$), when the IF input power was -3 dBm(0.5 mW) at the LO power of 7 dBm(5 mW) in sub-harmonic mixer, which corresponds to SSB(Single Side Band) conversion loss of 8.4 dB. This value is similar to the conversion loss of 8.0 dB(SSB) of VDI's commercial model WR3.4SHM(220~325 GHz) at 240 GHz. The combined transmitter and receiver simulation results showed that the recovered signal waveforms were in good agreement to the transmitted 1.485 Gbps NRZ signal.

The impact ionization(I.I.) is necessary to analyze carrier transport properties under the influence of high electric field. The full band I-k relation and Fermi's golden rule are used for the calculation of impact ionization rate. We have investigated the temperature- and field-dependent impact ionization coefficient for silicon using full band Monte Carlo simulation. The impact ionization coefficients calculated by our impact ionization model are agreed with experimental data at look. We know that impact ionization coefficients and electron energies are decreasing along increasing temperature due to increase of phonon scattering, especially by emission. The logarithm of impact ionization coefficients are fitted to linear function for temperature and field. The residuals of linear function are within the error bound of 5%. We know logarithmic impact ionization coefficients are linearly dependent on temperature and field.

A stoichiometric mixture of evaporating materials for $CuAlSe_2$ single crystal thin films was prepared from horizontal electric furnace. To obtain the single crystal thin films, $CuAlSe_2$ mixed crystal was deposited on thoroughly etched semi-insulating GaAs(100) substrate by the hot wall epitaxy (HWE) system. The source and substrate temperatures were $680^{\circ}C$ and $410^{\circ}C$, respectively. The crystalline structure of the single crystal thin films was investigated by the photoluminescence and double crystal X-ray diffraction (DCXD). The carrier density and mobility of $CuAlSe_2$ single crystal thin films measured with Hall effect by van der Pauw method are $9.24{\times}10^{16}\;cm^{-3}$ and $295\;cm^2/V{\cdot}s$ at 293 K, respectively. The temperature dependence of the energy band gap of the $CuAlSe_2$ obtained from the absorption spectra was well described by the Varshni's relation, $E_g(T)\;=\;2.8382\;eV\;-\;(8.68{\times}10^{-4}\;eV/K)T^2/(T+155K)$. The crystal field and the spin-orbit splitting energies for the valence band of the $CuAlSe_2$ have been estimated to be 0.2026 eV and 0.2165 eV at 10K, respectively, by means of the photocurrent spectra and the Hopfield quasicubic model. These results indicate that the splitting of the ${\Delta}so$ definitely exists in the ${\Gamma}_5$ states of the valence band of the $CuAlSe_2$. The three photocurrent peaks observed at 10K are ascribed to the $A_1-$, $B_1-$, and $C_1$-exciton peaks for n = 1.

The FHSS(Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum), in which a transmitter changes its carrier frequency according to a certain hopping pattern, is widely used in the military communication system, since it is highly resistant to deliberate Jamming. However, the difference of BER performance of satellite communication system which using the different modulation scheme and Jamming model was not studied. Thus, in this paper, we consider PBNJ(Partial-Band Noise Jamming) and WPBJ(Worst case Partial-Band noise Jamming) as Jamming models, and evaluate BER(Bit Error Rate) performances of NC-MFSK(Non-Coherent M-ary Frequency-Shift Keying), SDPSK(Symmetric Differential Phase-Shift Keying), and GMSK(Gaussian filtered Minimum-Shift Keying) modulation schemes. Based on the results, we suggest the best transmission method for each condition.

Specific patterns of the hereditary breast and ovarian cancer (HBOC) syndrome are related to mutations in the BRCA1 gene. One hundred unrelated breast cancer patients were interviewed to obtain clinical symptoms and signs, pedigree and familial history of HBOC syndrome related cancer. Subsequently, data were calculated using the Breast and Ovarian Analysis of Disease Incidence and Carrier Estimation Algorithm (BOADICEA) risk prediction model. Patients with high score of BOADICEA were offered genetic testing. Eleven patients with high score of BOADICEA, 2 patients with low score of BOADICEA, 2 patient's family members and 15 controls underwent BRCA1 genetic testing. Mutation screening using PCR-HRM was carried out in 22 exons (41 amplicons) of BRCA1 gene. Sanger sequencing was subjected in all samples with aberrant graph. This study identified 10 variants in the BRCA1 gene, consisting of 6 missense mutations (c.1480C>A, c.2612C>T, c.2566T>C, c.3113A>G, c.3548 A>G, c.4837 A>G), 3 synonymous mutations (c.2082 C>T, c.2311 T>C and c.4308T>C) and one intronic mutation (c.134+35 G>T). All variants tend to be polymorphisms and unclassified variants. However, no known pathogenic mutations were found.

Currently, SEAMCAT has been widely used as a tool to evaluate the effects of interference among wireless communication systems. In the previous work, we have incorporated the ITU-R P.526 pathloss model to the existing SEAMCAT in order to support the capability of interference evaluation taking into account any specific terrain characteristics. Along with this, we have implemented a terrain display function based on the Google map. However, the two-dimensional Google map based display is not effective in helping users to figure out some terrain features including the elevation variation in a given region. In order to alleviate this difficulty, we have incorporated the three-dimensional terrain display using the API of the Google earth to the existing SEAMCAT and provided the capability of viewing the positions of the associated communication systems, the variation of the carrier intensity and interference intensity in location, shadow region indication, and line-of-sight analysis and presented an example of interference evaluation.
