광캐패시터용 카본 전극 제작 (Fabrication of Photo-Capacitor Electrode with Carbonaceous Materials)

  • 최근 광 캐패시터 전극 분야는 고효율과 넓은 응용분야로 인해 주목 받고 있다. 본 연구에서는 carbon, 활성 carbon을 사용하여 캐패시터샘플을 제작 하였고 간단한 샌드위치 구조에 각각의 캐패시터 전극은 $20{\times}15nm$의 셀을 사용하였다. 각 셀들은 제작방법에는 졸겔법이 사용되었다. 각 셀들의 수분 및 기타물질의 제거를 위해 $120^{\circ}C$에서 1시간동안 건조시켰고 $500^{\circ}C$에서 2시간동안 소결처리 하였다. 소결처리로 인한 carbon의 특성변화를 알아보기 위해 XRD분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구에서는 캐패시터의 특성을 파악하기 위해 임피던스 특성을 분석하였고 그에 따른 부수적인 결과들을 기술하였다. active carbon을 사용한 캐패시터의 충방전 특성을 측정하였고 최종적으로 평균 두께 $32{\mu}m$, 입자사이즈 $1\sim4.5{\mu}m$의 캐패시터전극용 샘플($20{\times}15nm$)을 제작하였다.

Low-Z Electron Probe X-ray Microanalysis 분석법을 이용한 해안인근 지역의 대기입자 분석 (Characterization of Individual Atmospheric Particles, Collected in Susan, Korea, Using Low-Z Electron Probe X-ray Microanalysis)

  • A single particle analytical technique, called low-Z electron probe X-ray microanalysis (low-Z EPMA) was applied to characterize atmospheric particles collected in Busan, Korea, over a daytime period in Dec. 2001. The ability to quantitatively analyze the low-Z elements, such as C, N, and 0, in microscopic volume enables the low-Z EPMA to specify the chemical composition of individual atmospheric particle. Various types of atmospheric particles such as organics, carbon-rich, aluminosilicates, silicon oxide, calcium carbonate, iron oxide, sodium chloride, sodium nitrate, ammonium sulfate, and titanium oxide were identified. In the sample collected in Busan, sodium nitrate particles produced as a result of the reaction between sea salt and nitrogen oxides in the atmosphere were most abundantly encountered both in the coarse and fine fractions. On the contrary, original sea salt particles were rarely observed. The fact that most of the carbonaceous particles were distributed in the fine fraction implies that their origin is anthropogenic.

LCD 면광원용 저온 소성 Paste 특성 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Low Temperature Calcined Paste for LCD Flat Light Source)

  • BLU is a important part of the most representative LCD at flat panel display. In order to supplement the optical special quality which LCD cannot light itself, BLU is an essential property to supply with same brightness on the screen. In this study we have manufactured and characterized the low temperature calcined paste that can be used as a flat light source for LCD BLU. For the phosphor paste and intermediate paste, the low temperature calcined acryl resin was used as the binder. From the result of thermal decomposition measurement, residual carbonaceous materials was found to be less than 0.2wt% at $400^{\circ}C$.

  • Single-walled carbon nanotubes are one among the most promising carbonaceous materials to be used as the electrodes in the devices like micro batteries, supercapacitors, etc. In this study, single-walled carbon nanotube thin films have been fabricated through electrospray deposition technique which is one of the attractive direct printing methods in the field of printed electronics. Single-walled carbon nanotube ink (water dispersed, 3wt %) has been used to fabricate thin films through electrospray deposition technique. The as-deposited SWCNT thin films have been characterized using the appropriate characterization techniques and the results are presented.

  • AlN powder was synthesized by carbothermal reduction and nitridation using Al2(SO4)3.18H2O as the starting material. The synthesized AlN powder was fine but contained oxygen. Therefore carbonaceous material (carbon black or phenol novolac) was added teogether with the sintering aids (CaO, CaF2, CaCl2, Y2O3 and YF3). It was found that pressureless sintering at 1700~180$0^{\circ}C$ after deoxidation at 150$0^{\circ}C$ suppressed the formation of second phase (27R) and reduced the contents of lattice oxygen within AlN ceramics.

An Overview of the Activated Carbon Fibers for Electrochemical Applications

  • This article is concerned with the overview of the activated carbon fibers. Firstly, this review provides a comprehensive survey of the overall processes for the synthesis of the activated carbon fibers from the carbonaceous materials. Subsequently, the physicochemical properties such as pore structures and surface oxygen functional groups of the activated carbon fibers were discussed in detail. Finally, as electrochemical applications of the activated carbon fibers to electrode materials for electric double-layer capacitor (EDLC), the electrochemical characteristics of the activated carbon fiber electrodes and the various methods to improve the capacitance and rate capability were introduced. In particular, the effect of pore length distribution (PLD) on kinetics of double-layer charging/discharging was discussed based upon the experimental and theoretical results in our work. And then we discussed in detail the applications of the activated carbon fibers to adsorbent materials for purification of liquid and gas.

주물용 코우크스와 무연괴탄의 가스화 반응과 강도에 관한 연구 (A Study on Gasification Reaction and Strength of Foundry Coke and Lump Anthracite Coal)

  • The gasification reaction rates by $CO_2$ in $CO/CO_2/N_2$ of various compositions in the temperature range of $900-1200^{\circ}C$ were measured for foundry coke and anthracite lump. The data for the rates was analyzed with Langmuir-Hinshelwood rate equations for the gasification of carbonaceous specimens. The values of the apparent activation energies of the reactions obtained from these data were ranged to be 47-99 and 73-128Kcal/mol respectively for foundry coke and for anthracite lump. The major contribution to decrease in tensile strength was shown to be attributable to the enlarging of the macropores in the coke and that of crack in the anthracite lump. Under the same experiment of the gasification of foundry coke, the rate of form coke was increasing as the addition of $Fe_2O_3$ increases.

THERMAL PLASMA SYNTHESIS OF NANO-SIZED POWDERS

  • A brief review on the thermal plasma synthesis of nano-sized powders is presented according to the application materials, such as, metals, ceramics, glasses, carbonaceous materials and other functional composites, such as, supported metal catalyst and core-shell structured nano materials. As widely adopted plasma sources available for thermal plasma synthesis of nanosized powders, three kinds of plasma torches, such as transferred and non-transferred DC and RF plasma torches, are introduced with the main features of each torch system. In the basis of the described torch features and the properties of suggested materials, application results including synthesis mechanism are reviewed in this paper.

전자현미경 수준에서의 목재부후균의 미세구조학적 고찰 (Ultrastructural Description of Some Wood Degrading Fungi at Light Microscopic and Scanning Electron Microscopic Levels)

  • Biscogniauxia속에 속한 대다수의 종들은 목재를 분해균으로 알려져 있으며, 목질내지는 탄소질이며 암갈색의 자좌를 가진 Xylariales에 속하여 있다. Daldinia concentrica와 Biscogniauxia에 속한 목재부후균이 심하게 부후된 활엽수에서 분리되었으며 이는 광학현미경 및 전자현미경을 이용하여 고찰하였다. Daldinia concentrica는 국내 최초의 전자현미경을 이용한 미세구조학적 고찰이다. 또한, Biscogniauxia속 미동정 부후균은 $11.4\;15.6{\times}9.6\;12.0{\mu}m$ 크기의 자낭포자를 가지고 있으며, 국내에서 발견된 비슷한 종들과 비교 분석하였다.

PEA법에 의한 캐패시터내 전하분포 측정 (Charge Distribution in a capacitor observed by PEA Method)

  • The use of the pulsed electro acoustic (PEA) method allowed us to perform the direct observations of spatio-temporal charge distributions in Electric double layer capacitors (EDLCs) based on polarizable nanoporous carbonaceous electrode. The negative charge density became the maximum, about 205 $C/m^3$ at the region where was near to collector layer in EDLCs for case $V_{DC}$ = 2.5 V, while the positively charged density became the maximum, about 61.1 $C/m^3$ at the region where it was located around the cathode layer. The PEA measurement used here is a very useful method to quantitively investigates the spatio-temporal charge distribution in EDLCs.
