  • Comparison of three converter topologies for single phase switched reluctance motor is proposed in this paper. Due to the limitation of do-link voltage, conventional asymmetric converter is difficult to build up enough phase current in the high speed operation. In order to solve this problem, boost converter is used to improve the performance. Two active boost converters are reviewed: one is series-connected type, another is parallel-connected. Otherwise, a novel active boost converter is proposed. The comparison of these converters is based on the voltage raring of capacitor, stability and converter topology. Because the converter selection depends on the motor design, the single phase 6/6 SRM is considered in this paper. Some simulations results are executed. And the results verified the analysis in this paper.

  • The single-phase switched reluctance motor(SRM) drive requires DC source which is generally supplied through a rectifier connected with a commercial source. The rectifier is consist of a diode full bridge and a filter circuit. Usually the filter circuit uses capacitor with large value capacitance to reduce ripple component of DC power. Although the peak torque ripple of SRM is small, the short charge and discharge current of the filter capacitor draws the low power factor and system efficiency. A modified single phase SRM drive system is presented in this paper, which includes drive circuit realizing reduction of torque ripple and improvement of power factor. In the proposed drive circuit, one switching part and diode which can separate the output of AC/DC rectifier from the filter capacitor is added. Also, a upper switch of drive circuit is exchanged a diode in order to reduce power switching device. Therefore the number of power switch device is not changed, two diodes are only added in the SRM drive. To verify the proposed system, some simulation and experimental results are presented.

  • In this paper, we found the improved SPICE heat transfer modeling of impulsed magnetizing fixture system and investigated temperature characteristics using the proposed model. As the detailed thermal characteristics of magnetizing fixture can be obtained, the efficient design of the impulsed magnetizing fixture which produce desired magnet will be possible using our heat transfer modeling. The knowledge of the temperature of the magnetizing fixture is very important of forecast the characteristics of the magnetizing fixture which produce desired magnet will be possible using our heat transfer modeling. The knowledge of the temperature of the magnetizing fixture is very important to forecast the characteristics of the magnetizing circuits under different conditions. The capacitor voltage was not raised above 810[V] to protect the magnetizing fixture from excessive heating. The purpose of this work is to compute the temperature increasing for different magnetizing conditions. The method uses multi-lumped model with equivalent thermal resistance and thermal capacitance. The reliable results are obtained by using iron core fixture (stator magnet of air cleaner DC motor) coupled to a low-voltage magnetizer(charging voltage : 1000[V], capacitor : 3825[$\mu$F]. The modeling and experimental results are in close aggrement.

  • At LCCSI system, output capacitor of inverter and inductor of load motor raise mutuality operation. This parallel resonant increase equivalent impedance of inverter load and give wrong effect at LCCSI system. This paper carried out resonant analysis of LCCSI system. The result of analysis, particular resonant point of two was discovered that a resonant of S=0 vicinity and $\beta$ resonant of S=1 vicinity. In addition to, the case of harmonics resonant not come from $\alpha$ resonant but come from $\beta$ resonant. A moment of working of LCCSI system, resonant line must not suddenly variation. Accordingly, resonant line is a necessity for doing $f{\alpha}$ vicinity by properly capacitor value selection.

  • Recently many researches on the diagnosis of stator winding insulation for large rotating machines have been developed sine the 1970s. Capacitive coupler has been the most widely used sensor for on-line partial discharge(PD) in rotating machines. The 105 [pF] ceramic coupler(CC) has been developed to continuously measure the PD activity in operating motor stator windings. This paper presents frequency characteristics and laboratory test to compare traditional 80 [pF] epoxy-mica coupler(EMC) and 105 [pF] CC for PD measurement in 6.6 [kV] stator windings.

  • In order to improved the three phase GTO CSI of high efficiency IM drive with low loss commutation and snubber energy, we studied the energy recovery circuit to recover stored energy in clamping capacitor, dc link inductor and snubber capacitor, used an induction motor as the load of inverter. Specially, we investigated how dc input power is increased or decreased according to size of dc link inductor. The validity of this system is proved through experiment.

  • Capacitor-run single induction motors have the unbalanced elliptic rotating magnetic field so that it is difficult to analyze the characteristic and calculate the accurate slot leakage reactance of the rotor with the closed slot by using the lumped parameter. In this paper, the characteristic is analyzed by the symmetrical coordinate method in terms of the lumped parameter coupled with the numerical analysis. The secondary parameters are calculated by the one slot pitch boundary condition applying to Finite Element Method (FEM). The analysis results are compared with experimental ones.

  • 기존 전기자전거의 경우에 사용되는 일반 배터리팩 방식에 비해 이중 배터리 팩 (Li-ion Batterty + Super Capacitor)의 방식이 동등 주행 성능 및 지속 시간 조건에서 무게 및 원가 저감이 가능하다. 또한 기존 승압형 Converter인 Boost Converter는 이중 배터리를 이용시 큰 inrush 전류를 발생시키고 이 전류로 인해 소자 파손에 문제가 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 입력 전압을 Li-ion Battery로, 출력 전압에 Super Capacitor를 연결하는 이중 배터리로 구성되고 기존 Boost converter 입력단에 Mosfet과 Diode를 추가하여 inrush 전류가 발생하지 않게 한다. 본 논문에서는 제안된 회로의 이론적 특성을 분석하고 실험을 통해 타당성을 검증하였다.

  • The commutation operation of the current source converter for switched reluctance motor drives is analyzed in this paper. The commutation operation in the current source converter consists of two modes. At turn-off of phase switch, the phase current decreases sinusoidally, and the sum of two phase currents during commutation period is constant. At this time, the capacitor voltage increases quickly with changing polarity and decreases slowly when another phase switches turn on or off. Frequency of step-down DC chopper in the current source converter is low because of the dump such as BJTs and GTOs are possible as phase switches instead of Power MOSFET and IGBTS. They may result in reductions of conduction losses and manufacturing cost in the current source converter comparing to the voltage source converter of SRM.

  • Blade pitch control system monitors and adjusts angle of the blades and controls rotation speed of blades. This paper shows 2MW pitch system hardware and electric part. Blade pitch system consists of pitch drive, gear box, motor and energy storage. Fieldbus is base on CANopen protocol. Fail-Safe system moves the blades to a safety position in case of any fault condition. The super capacitor energy storage provides emergency back up to the Pitch servo driver during feathering the blades. This paper studied Blade pitch servo driver and a bi-directional DC-DC converter for fail-safe system.
