유압 베인 펌프의 캠 링 변형에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Cam Ring Deformation in a Balanced Type Vane Pump)

  • This paper presents the deformation characteristics of cam ring in a balanced type vane pump. Cam ring is operated in the high-pressure condition. Therefore the local deformation of cam ring affects the characteristics of compression, vane motion and noise and vibration. We analyzed the deformation of cam ring for the three types by using the finite element method. The deformed shape of cam ring and the effects of deformation on the compression are presented. As a result of analysis, we know that the right hole of the cam ring has advantage for reducing the pressure overshoot.

Study on Profile Generation of Conjugate Plate Cams for a Roller Gear Cam Mechanism

  • A roller gear cam mechanism is presented. It consists of two or more plate cams with particular teeth, called Conjugate Cam Tooth (CCT) and a turret with axially located rollers. A practical and available configuration has been found out by synthesizing its parameters. The profile equations of the conjugate cam are derived by using a relative velocity method. A program fur the design automation of shape of the conjugate cam and the motion simulation of this kind of mechanism has been deve1oped using the derived formulae with C++ language. Finally, an example is given.

  • Cam mechanism is one of the common devices used in many automatic machinery. Specially cylindrical cam generates three dimensional motions. Thus, the shape design procedures must have high accuracy. This paper proposes the shape design procedure for a cylindrical cam and follower mechanism using a relative velocity method. The relative velocity method and the coordinate transformation are used to find a contact point between the cam and the follower. Also, the full shape of the cylindrical cam can be generated by using the geometric relationships and the contact constraints. As a result, this paper presents an example for the shape design of the cylindrical cam in order to prove the accuracy of the design procedures.

박용 디젤기관의 캠-밸브기구 하중특성 (The Chacteristics of Load on the Cam-Valve Mechanism for the Marine Diesel Engine)

  • In this study both the experimental and the analytic approach to find load characteristics on the cam-valve mechanism for matrine diesel engine were demonstrated. The experiment was per-formed with a test rig consisted of real engine components for cam-valve mechanism of overhead valve type. The 9-degree of freedom lumped mass model was developed to simulate cam-valve motion throughly. Behavior of the load acting on the cam-valve mechanism was estimated for the various cam speed. The load variation was getting deeper with the higher cam speed and the jumping of the follower was shown both in the experiment and in the simulation.

디젤엔진용 Cam-in-Cam시스템 적용 가변밸브 성능해석 (Performance Analysis of Variable Valve for Diesel Engine with Cam-in-Cam System)

  • In this study, the effects of intake valve closing timing by using Cam-in-Cam system on combustion and emission characteristics for diesel engine were investigated under GT-POWER simulation environment. As a result, it was found that volumetric efficiency and effective compression ratio were decreased as the intake valve closing(IVC) timing is retarded due to its backflow effect. Also, we found that in-cylinder pressure, heat release rate and NOx emission were decreased as IVC timing was retarded. These show that the LIVC(late intake valve closing) can be effective to control AFR and mixing rate in diffusion combustion of diesel engine.

  • Developed in this research is a CAM system for 5-axis NC Machining of sculptured surfaces. We identify problems in generating 5-axis NC data and propose methods of overcoming them. Issues discussed in this paper are: kinematic modelling of NC machines; determination of cutter position (location and orientation); check of machine work-range; linear trajectory plann- ing ; calculation of feedrate number. The proposed system has been implemented in FORTRAN77 on the Personal IRIS EWS, and it also constitutes a module of the CAD/CAM system 'CASSET' developed in KIST CAD/CAM lab.

  • 디지털화의 가속, 고속 통신 인프라의 확대 등으로 전자, 정보 통신 기기들이 단일 네트워크로 연결되어 영상 및 음향 정보를 서로 공유할 수 있으며, 생활 공간 내에서 실생활의 질 향상을 위한 지능적 정보 서비스와 자연스럽고 편한 내추럴 인터페이스 기술에 의한 지능형 반응 정보 서비스 공간 기술이 중요한 이슈로 등장하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 지능형 반응 공간의 물리적 객체로서 학교, 연구 기관 및 회사 등의 회의실을 선정한다. 그리고, 이를 대상으로 회의 참여자들이 자연스럽고 편리하게 의견 교환, 관련 자료 및 정보 처리를 할 수 있는 시스템 구축을 위한 아키텍처에 대하여 논의한다. 본 연구에서 제안하는 시스템 아키텍처는 회의와 관련된 문서나 회의 내용 등의 정보를 실감 가시화 노드로 추상화되고 메타 정보화함으로써 전체 회의 내용의 파악과 회의 정보에 대한 체계적이고 논리적인 관리를 가능하게 한다. 또한 여러 사람의 공동 작업을 필요로 하는 정보 또는 문서에 대한 동시 편집 기능과 자연스러운 동작에 의한 데이터 조작을 지원하는 실감 워크벤치 및 워크스크린 기술, 정보 핸들링의 다양성과 조작의 편리성을 위한 실감 아이콘에 의하여 자연스럽고 편리한 회의를 가능하게 한다. 그리고, 이러한 요소 기술들이 에이전트에 의해 회의 프로세스 및 요소 기술들의 시스템적 통합을 가능하게 한다.

Implications of paraquat and hydrogen peroxide-induced oxidative stress treatments on the GABA shunt pathway in Arabidopsis thaliana calmodulin mutants

  • Arabidopsis mutants with T-DNA insertion in seven calmodulin genes (CAM) were used to determine the specific role of CAM in the tolerance of plants to oxidative stress induced by paraquat and hydrogen peroxide ($H_2O_2$) treatments. Arabidopsis calmodulin mutants (cam) were screened for seedling growth, seed germination, induced oxidative damage, and levels of ${\gamma}$-aminobutyric acid (GABA) shunt metabolites. Only the cam5-4 and cam6-1 mutants exhibited an increased sensitivity to paraquat and $H_2O_2$ during seed germination and seedling growth. In response to treatments with $3{\mu}M$ paraquat and 1 mM $H_2O_2$, only the cam5-4, cam6-1 mutants showed significant changes in malonaldehyde (MDA) levels in root and shoot tissues, with highly increased levels of MDA. In terms of the GABA shunt metabolites, GABA was significantly elevated in root and shoot tissues in response to the paraquat treatments in comparison to alanine and glutamate, while the levels of all shunt metabolites increased in root tissue but not in the shoot tissue following the $H_2O_2$ treatments. GABA, alanine and glutamate levels were significantly increased in root and shoot of the cam1, cam4, cam5-4, and cam6-1 mutants in response to paraquat (0.5, 1 and $3{\mu}M$), while they were increased only in the root tissue of the cam1, cam4, cam5-4, and cam6-1 mutants in response to $H_2O_2$ (200 and $500{\mu}M$, 1 mM). These data show that the cam5-4 and cam6-1 mutants were sensitive to the induced oxidative stress treatments in terms of seed germination, seedling growth, and oxidative damage. The accumulation of GABA shunt metabolites as a consequence of the induced oxidative stress treatments (paraquat and $H_2O_2$ treatments) suggests that the GABA shunt pathway and the accumulation of GABA metabolites may contribute in antioxidant machinery associated with reactive oxygen species and in the acquisition of tolerance in response to induced oxidative stress in Arabidopsis seedlings.

  • When a mechanism transfers a motion to an intersected shaft, a cylindrical cam mechanism may be the best choice among the mechanisms. The cylindrical cam with a roller follower provides to transfer the motions to the intersect shafts simply without other connecting equipments of the intersect shafts. Typical example may be a roller-gear-cam mechanism. But the shape of the cam must be exactly defined in order to satisfy the conditions for the prescribed motion of the follower. This paper proposes a new method for the shape design of the cylindrical cams and also a CAD program is developed by using the proposed method. The relative velocity method calculates the relative velocity of the follower versus the cam at a center of roller, and then determines a contact point by using the geometric relationships and the kinematic constraints. The constraint used in the relative velocity method is that the relative velocity must be parallel to a common tangent line at the contact point of two independent bodies, i. e. the cam and the follower. Then, the shape of the cam is defined by the coordinate transformation of the trace of the contact points. Finally, this paper presents an example in order to prove the accuracy of the proposed methods in this paper and the application of the CAD program"CamDesign".
