The surge of Internet traffic makes the bottleneck nowadays. This problem can be reduced by substituting the media of network, routers and switches with more high-performance goods. However, we focused radically the server performance of processing the service requests. We prepose the method improving performance of server in the Linux kernel stack. This accelerator accepts the requests from many clients, and processes them using not user threads but kernel thread. To do so, we can reduce the overhead caused by frequent calling of system calls and the overhead of context switching between threads. Furthermore, we implement CPN(Coloured Petri Net) model. By using the CPN model criteria, we can analyze the characteristics of operation times in addition to the reachability of system. Benchmark of the system proves the model is valid.

On apartment construction sites in hot weather environments, the high temperature of 30℃ and above and radiation from the sun cause iron and mold temperatures to rise, which lowers worker efficiency and has a negative effect on the deposited concrete. Therefore this study measured the temperature of D10 ~ D16 iron and aluminum items actually used on box frame apartment construction sites currently under construction, in order to give reference information to solve hot weather concrete problems. The temperature measurement results showed that for iron, temperatures rose to around 45℃, and for mold around 58.8℃, calling for safety measures for workers in case of possible burning and other problems.

본 논문에서는 문자열 영역 추출을 위한 3배 축소 명함 영상, 개별 문자 추출을 위한 2배 축소 명함 영상, 정확한 인식을 위한 원본 영상으로 명함 영상을 분리하고, 분리된 영상들을 대상으로 각 영상 크기에 적합한 처리를 수행하고 각각의 결과들을 이용하여 정확한 문자를 추출할 수 있는 방법을 제안한다 그리고 추출된 개별 문자들의 인식을 위해서 ART1을 적용한 개선된 RBF 네트워크를 제안하여 적용한다 제안된 명함 추출 방법은 원 영상을 각각의 처리 방법에 적합하도록 하기 위해서 다해상도로 분리한다. 문자열의 추출은 문자들의 간격을 축소 시켜서 블록을 추출하기 쉬운 적절한 최소 크기의 영상에서 수행하고, 개별 문자의 추출은 문자들의 간격을 분리할 수 있는 적절한 영상의 크기에서 수행한다 개별 문자 인식은 문자의 형태학적 특성을 잘 나타내기 위해서 원본 영상에 적용한다 본 논문에서 제안한 추출 방법은 문자를 정확히 추출할 수 있으며 병렬 처리가 가능하여 처리시간을 단축할 수 있는 장점을 가진다. 그리고 정확히 추출된 개별 문자들을 개선된 R8F 네트워크를 이용하여 인식률을 향상시킨다. 제안된 명함 추출 및 인식 방법의 성능을 확인하기 위해서 실제 영문 명함 영상을 대상으로 실험한 결과, 기존의 방법보다 명함 추출 및 인식에서 우수한 성능이 있음을 확인하였다.

It is a great honour for me to speak to you today on the Korean's problems in learning English pronunciation. First of all I would like to thank Prof. H. B. Lee, President of the Phonetic Society of Korea for calling upon me to make a keynote speech at this International Conference on Phonetic Sciences. The year before last when the 1 st Joint Summit on English Phonetics was held at Aichi Gakuin University in Japan, the warm hospitality given to me and my colleagues by the English Phonetic Society of Japan was so great that I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to the members of the English Phonetic Society of Japan and especially to Prof. Masaki Tsuzuki, President of the Society. Korean learners of English have a lot of problems in learning English pronunciation. Some vowel problems seem to be shared by Japanese learners but other problems, especially in consonants, are peculiar to Koreans owing to the nature of phonological rules peculiar to the Korean language. Of course, there are other important problems like speech rhythm and intonation besides vowels and consonants. But they will not be included here because of limited time.

Diet composition of amphibians usually reflects the distribution of potential prey within habitats, as well as their diet preference. We identified the diet items of Japanese tree frog (Hyla japonica) using a stomach flushing method in a rice paddy for the establishment of bio-monitoring systems of landscape changes. During the reproductive period, 71% of calling males had empty stomachs. All prey items in the stomachs belonged to the phylum Arthropoda, from eight orders of Insecta and one order of Arachnida. Among insect prey, the most common items in the stomachs were adults of beetles, flies and bugs, and larvae of butterflies and moths. There was a significant positive correlation between the body mass of Japanese tree frogs and the volume of prey items. Our results can provide a basic framework to guide the monitoring systems using prey identification of Japanese tree frogs.

English absolutes and free adjuncts, despite their abridged syntactic forms, function as full subordinating adverbial clauses, with their semantic roles varied according to the interpretation of the matrix clauses. This paper investigates how to represent the syntactic structures and semantic variability of absolutes and free adjuncts in a unified way, accounting for overlapping properties among various subtypes of the constructions on the one hand, and differences on the other. In the proposed analysis, the clausal properties of absolutes and free adjuncts are captured by the subject selecting property and the clausal meaning associated with a predicative phrase, thus not calling for a null verb or complementizer. In classifying and defining diverse subtypes of the constructions via type constraints, the present work also provides an account of different uses of with involved in absolutes and free adjuncts.

This paper describes the investment casting of TiAl alloys. The effects of mold material and mold preheating temperature for the investment casting of TiAl on metal-mold interfacial reaction were investigated by means of optical micrography, hardness profiles and an electron probe microanalyzer. The mold materials examined were colloidal silica bonded ZrO₂, ZrSiO₄, A1₂O₃and CaO stabilized ZrO₂. When compared with conventional titanium a1loy, the high aluminum concentration of TiAl alloys helps to lower their reactivity in the molten state. The A1₂O₃mold is a promising mold material for the investment casting of TiAl in terms of the thermal stability, formability and cost. Special attention need to be paid to thermal stability and mold preheating when developing the investment calling of TiAl alloys.

This is a dissertation is in urgent announce of the domestic legislation about bungee jumping. A bungee jumping operator puts the blame on us for causing the bungee jumping accident but before calling it, equipment of bungee jumping was old and deficient. Fee of bungee jumping is fifty thousand won. A rope seller has raised the price, as operator break the rope used limit. So that is reasonable price. Even now, operator break the rope used limit and legislation about bungee jumping is nonexistent so bungee jumping accidents occur with frequency in domestic.

With the arrival of 3rd generation cellular networks it is expected that a lot of new cellular services will be available to the mobile users like video calling, location based services etc. Similarly MBMS is one such service which is targeted for 3G mobile users for viewing talk shows, live sport events etc. One shall view this service like a small portable T.V being carried by the mobile user. The user watches the programs of his liking by joining if he wishes. In this paper we focus on the possible UTRAN architectures to provide MBMS service within UMIS networks. The paper primarily focuses on the requirement aspect, notification aspect and the mobility aspect. The paper lists many options for notifications and elaborates on them in terms of pros and cons. In the end the paper conclude with an UTRAN architecture for MBMS service which meets the requirements of this service as well as makes minimum changes to the existing UTRAN architecture while attempting to save terminal power for this service.

The evaluation of port competition could be applied to determining the selection of a calling port. A few fundemental attributes of port competition were adapted by the 'brain storming' method. The criteria used for evaluating a port's competitiveness were as follows: efficiency of port operations, competitive power of each port's industry, economic activity of the hinderland associated with each port and capability of globalization. The weight of each criterion was 30%, 40%, 20% & 10%, respectively. And the most important factors that were considered in choosing each of the above criteria were profitability, port information system, cargo volume & inducement of foreign capital. The results of this study seemed to suggest that factors which influence port competition varied according to port circumstances, such as computer and communication systems and access to the global trade within the World Trade Organization
