This paper presents an averaging current adjustment technique for reducing the pixel resistance variation in a bolometer-type uncooled infrared image sensor. Each unit pixel was composed of an active pixel, a reference pixel for the averaging current adjustment technique, and a calibration circuit. The reference pixel was integrated with a polysilicon resistor using a standard complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) process, and the active pixel was applied from outside of the chip. The averaging current adjustment technique was designed by using the reference pixel. The entire circuit was implemented on a chip that was composed of a reference pixel array for the averaging current adjustment technique, a calibration circuit, and readout circuits. The proposed reference pixel array for the averaging current adjustment technique, calibration circuit, and readout circuit were designed and fabricated by a $0.35-{\mu}m$ standard CMOS process.
KOMPSAT-1 (KOrea Multi-Purpose SATellite ? 1) EOC (Electro Optic Camera) raw images are radiometrically corrected on ground based on the characteristics of EOC. They consist of each CCD (Charge?Coupled Device) pixel’s calibration slope which was measured on ground, electrical gains which are applied to amplify for increasing output pixel counts. Currently, radio-metrically corrected EOC images with calibration slope have still shown defective features by residual stripes. So, it should be compensated by adjusting the calibration slope. In this paper, the adjustment of current calibration slope for de-striping EOC images is addressed and test results are shown.

Radiometric calibration is a prerequisite to quantitative remote sensing, and its accuracy has a direct impact on the reliability and accuracy of the quantitative application of remotely sensed data. This paper presents absolute radiometric calibration of the KOMPSAT-3 (KOrea Multi Purpose SATellite-3) and cross calibration using the Landsat-8 OLI (Operational Land Imager). Absolute radiometric calibration was performed using a reflectance-based method. Correlations between TOA (Top Of Atmosphere) radiances and the spectral band responses of the KOMPSAT-3 sensors in Goheung, South Korea, were significant for multispectral bands. A cross calibration method based on the Landsat-8 OLI was also used to assess the two sensors using near simultaneous image pairs over the Libya-4 PICS (Pseudo Invariant Calibration Sites). The spectral profile of the target was obtained from EO-1 (Earth Observing-1) Hyperion data over the Libya-4 PICS to derive the SBAF (Spectral Band Adjustment Factor). The results revealed that the TOA radiance of the KOMPSAT-3 agree with Landsat-8 within 5.14% for all bands after applying the SBAF. The radiometric coefficient presented here appears to be a good standard for maintaining the optical quality of the KOMPSAT-3.

This paper presents an implementation of a calibration circuit to correct the gain error, DC offset and sampling clock phase error generated in the process of converting digital pixels to analog pixels to drive an analog-driven 4K UHD LCOS panel. The proposed calibration circuit consists of a gain and DC offset adjustment circuit and a sampling clock phase adjustment circuit. The calibration circuit is implemented with an FPGA device, and video amplifiers.
Sensitivity and calibration considerations are most important in the design and implementation of real control systems. Ideally parameter changes due to various causes should not appreciably affect the system's performances. But all the values of physical components of the plants and controllers as well as the relevant environmental conditions change in time, thus the output performance can be deteriorated during the operating span of the system. Naturally the duty of calibration or the prevention of performance deterioration due to excessive component sensitivity should be provided to the control system. In this paper, we propose a digital controller which has the capability of calibration and gain adjustment as well as the execution of control law. Specifically the problems of gain adjustment and offset calibration in the light source and CdS sensor module for position measurement in a flexible link system are considerably resolved. The parameters of measurement module are prone to change due to environmental brightness conditions resulting in poor steady state performance of the overall control system. Thus a proper method is necessary to provide correction to the changed values of gain and offset in the position measurement module. The proposed controller, whenever necessary, measures the open-loop characteristics, andthen calculates the offset and sensor gain correction values based on the prepared standard measurements. It is applied to the control of a flexible link system with the gain and offset calibration porblems in the light sensor module for position to show the applicability.

This study aims to define the algorithm for self-calibration bundle adjustment with additional parameters, which is fit for the correction systematic errors in the SPOT satellite imagery, and to present a suitable term of additional parameters for the data form of SPOT satellite imagrery. As a result, an algorithm of self-calibration bundle adjustment for SPOT satellite imagery was settles, and the computer program was developed. Also, the suitable term of additional parameters to correct the systematic errors for each data form was defined through examination for determination effect of additional parameters and significance test. The algorithm of self-calibration bundle adjustment for SPOT satellite imagery according to this study could improve the accuracy of positioning.

Camera pose and scene geometry estimation from video sequences is widely used in various areas such as image composition. Structure and motion recovery based on the auto calibration algorithm can insert synthetic 3D objects in real but un modeled scenes and create their views from the camera positions. However, most previous methods require bundle adjustment or non linear minimization process [or more precise results. This paper presents a new auto' calibration algorithm for video sequence based on two steps: the one is key frame selection, and the other removes the key frame with inaccurate camera matrix based on an absolute quadric estimation by LMedS. In the experimental results, we have demonstrated that the proposed method can achieve a precise camera pose estimation and scene geometry recovery without bundle adjustment. In addition, virtual objects have been inserted in the real images by using the camera trajectories.

This paper presents the measurement system of arrow's point of impact using laser scan camera and describes the image calibration method. The calibration process of distorted image is primarily divided into explicit and implicit method. Explicit method focuses on direct optical property using physical camera and its parameter adjustment functionality, while implicit method relies on a calibration plate which assumed relations between image pixels and target positions. To find the relations of image and target position in implicit method, we proposed the performance criteria based polynomial theorem model that overcome some limitations of conventional image calibration model such as over-fitting problem. The proposed method can be verified with 2D position of arrow that were taken by SICK Ranger-D50 laser scan camera.
An object-oriented design was carried out for the digital photogrammetric processes. Classes were identified and implemented to develop an integrated digital photogrammetry system using a 3 dimensional self-calibration model for CCD cameras. This integrated system is deemed to be a significant progress from the conventional photogrammetric system which is a series of discrete processes. Object oriented methodology was selected for the implementation of the integrated photogrammetric system because it would be a very complex task to get the same result using a procedural programming language. Besides the simplification of development effort, object oriented methodology has further benefits of better management of program in case when updates to parts of the program are necessary. Using the classes designed in this study, a 3 dimensional self-calibration model was developed for a CCD camera. Classes for data input and image handling as well as classes for bundle adjustment were implemented. The bundle adjustment system was further enhanced with member functions to handle additional parameters for principal point coordinates and focal length, thereby, enabling the application to non-metric CCD cameras.

The study planned to suggest the efficient methods of system calibration between the range and optical sensors. The simulation was performed by considering i) design of test-bed, ii) mathematical methods of system calibration and iii) locations of the sensors. The test-bed was designed by considering specifications of the range and optical sensors. Also, the error levels of each sensor were considered in the process of simulation with dataset, which was generated under these predetermined conditions. The system calibration was carried out by using the simulated dataset in two different approaches, which are single photo resection and bundle adjustment. The results from the simulation determined that the bundle adjustment method is more efficient than the single photo resection in the system calibration between range and optical sensors. For the better results, we have used the data, obtained in various locations. In a conclusion, the most efficient case was in sequence of i) the bundle adjustment with ii) the simulated dataset, which were obtained between 2m to 4m away from the test-bed.
