The two-stage converter is widely used in traditional DC/AC inverter. It has several disadvantages such as complex topology, large volume and high loss. In order to overcome these shortcomings, a novel half load-cycle worked dual SEPIC single-stage inverter, which is based on the analysis of the relationship between input and output voltages of SEPIC converters operating in the discontinuous conduction mode (DCM), is presented in this paper. The traditional single-stage inverter has remarkable advantages in small and medium power applications, but it can’t realize boost DC/AC output directly. Besides one pre-boost DC/DC converter is needed between the DC source and the traditional single-stage inverter. A novel DC/AC inverter without pre-boost DC/DC converter, which is comprised of two SEPIC converters, is studied. The output of dual SEPIC converters is connected with anti-parallel and half load-cycle control is used to realize boost and buck DC/AC output directly and work properly, whatever the DC input voltage is higher or lower than the AC output voltage. The working principle, parameter selection and the control strategy of the inverters are analyzed in this paper. Simulation and experiment results verify the feasibility of the new inverter.
Generally, the conventional battery charging system using an analog method has the large, heavy hardware and low efficiency. Also, it has the disadvantage that it is necessary to replace the control circuit on the basis of the characteristic curve of the specific battery cell. The proposed programmable digital LLC resonant charging system use high efficiency control system(CC-CV), and has characteristic a small hardware and advantage that a digital programming of the voltage, current, and battery capacity characteristics can be flexible. The system proposed the use of Half-bridge LLC resonant converter is possible to improve efficiency and reduce switching losses by using ZVS topology. Further, a constant voltage - constant current(CC-CV) control algorithm apply to the charger which using a buck converter. The performance of the proposed system is demonstrated through experiments.
This paper examines the outcomes and tasks of U rail privatization especially focusing on the rail safety. Earlier research which focused on the rail safety had little knowledge of the explanations for recent changes of safety scheme. Moreover, they had difficulty making a direct comparison of safety between national rail and the privatized rail. Therefore we are left without a good explanation which has a comprehensive perspective. I attempt to show the outcomes of safety in the rail privatization process and its tasks focusing on the recent fatal accident. This paper argues that the UK's rail safety has a framework which is too complicated with overlapping responsibilities that brought about inefficiency, increasing costs. Especially infrastructure enterprise did not come to play an appropriate role. However, after 2000, the government took charge of setting the strategy for railway safety, and the Office of Rail Regulation covered safety, performance and cost. I explain that these changes present a good opportunity to solve the problem of passing the buck for rail accident. Through the analysis, I find that outcomes of rail privatization in safety are improved comparing the national rail. However, safety performance, for example the collision of structures of cars and looseness of rail should be improved. In future, the problems of fatal accident and a bit of duplicate safe system should be addressed.
Although body pressure distribution is sensitive to movements and is relatively simple to measure even in small space, there are few researches involving applications to driver's posture and its change. The main objective in this study is the application of body pressure distribution measurements for the prediction of the driver's posture and its change. This requires quantitative analyses of the dynamic body pressure distribution, which is the change of body pressure distribution with time. The experiment involved 16 male subjects who drove for 45 minutes in a seating buck. Measurement time, stature group, and lumbar support prominence were selected as independent variables, with subjective ratings of driver's discomfort, body posture data of hip, torso. knee angle, and body pressure data variables as dependent variables. The body pressure change variables and subjective ratings were found to increase as the measurement time increased and body pressure ratio variables reflected the torso angle. From the results and analysis of the body posture data and subjective rating results, it was predicted that the seats and the design of the lumbar supports used in the experiment was not fit for tall subjects, which could also be confirmed through the body pressure distribution data.
This research paper describes the development of battery charger with a variable output voltage capacity for charging the batteries used in electrical vehicles. The voltage and current accordingly is control via the buck converter that receives three phase current at primary side and fed to bridge rectifier which is comprised of full bridge converter and HFTR(High Frequency Transformer) for isolation and a square wave AC output. The transformer primary side is in series to divide certain charging current and the secondary side is comprised of six fix transformers so that they can generate certain amount of power and various output voltage through relay connection using 6 DC outputs. Moreover, all parallel connected full bridge serial resonant converter communicate together with upper(main) controller. The constructed structure is verified by conducting the test on PSIM as well as experimentally.
The purpose of this raper is to address the negative impedance instability in DC/DC converters. We present the negative impedance instability of PWM DC/DC converters loaded by constant power loads (CPLs). An approach to design digital controllers for DC/DC converters Is presented. The proposed method, called Power Alignment control technique, is applied to DC/DC step-down choppers operating in continuous conduction or discontinuous conduction modes with CPLs. This approach uses two predefined state variables instead of conventional pulse width modulation (PWM) to regulate the output voltage. A comparator compares actual output voltage with the reference and then switches between the appropriate states. It needs few logic gates and comparators to be implemented thus, making it extremely simple and easy to develop using a low-cost application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) for converters with CPLs. Furthermore, stability of the proposed controllers using the small signal analysis as well as the second theorem of Lyapunov is verified. Finally, simulation and analytical results are presented to describe and verify the proposed technique.
In this paper, the topology optimization of inner-wall stiffener of cylindrical containers for the use as a rocket fuel tank is presented. Such structures for space mission should have high stiffness against the buck]ins while their weight should be maintained low from the viewpoint of cost and performance. Therefore, in the present work the reciprocal of critical buckling load is adopted as an objective function and the total mass of stiffener is constrained to a prescribed value. Due to the restriction of computational resources a section of cylindrical container is topologically optimized and this result is repeated to obtain the full design. Also, for manufacturability the concept of periodic topology pattern in design domain is newly introduced. In the numerical examples, the results by the proposed approach are investigated and compared with those of isogrid design.
This study examines black images as 'the other' in history and aims to analyze images of black female fashion models which have been changed in modern society, particularly in $21^{st}$ century post-modern world. Black images, established historically as illustrated on the paintings in $19^{th}$ century, were disseminated in $20^{th}$ century throughout the world especially by way of TV and movies as several typical images such as 'Coon' the clown as the object of entertainment, 'Buck' wild and resistant black rascal, and 'Mammy' obedient and fat black woman servant. The result of image analysis of black female fashion models, can be summarized as following five images. The first is the image of 'powerful'. Black female models frequently represent healthy image which reflects black people's excellence in sports and also the traditional Image of black skin color as strength. The second is the image of 'sexy'. They are adored as having perfect ideal body shape. They show off their sex appeal with their body. The third image is 'multicultural'. Black models represent cultures besides the western. The fourth is the image of 'fantastic'. In contrast to the real, resonable things, black female models represent wild, fancy, ghost things. The fifth is the image of 'racial discrimination' By arranging them in contrast to whites, a metaphoric image of racial discrimination can be displayed. The result shows that tome of racial images still remain on the other way.
This study was aimed at developing 1) iso-perception maps for various groups of drivers in terms of age, gender, and anthropometry and 2) the experiment framework required for obtaining subjective and objective measures. A total of 9 maps, which describe drivers' perceptions regarding their static behaviors inside a typical mid-size sedan, can be used to improve the utilization of the limited driver workspace, and to select better design alternatives for occupant packaging. An adjustable seating buck, $a^{***}$-camera motion capture system (Vicon), and $a^{**}$-channel EMG system were used for the experiment. Each iso-perception map was developed while H-PT, steering wheel center, or TGS knob center was moved to each of pre-defined positions relative to driver-selected positions. Adjustable ranges or positions of the seat, steering wheel, and TGS lever described in iso-perception maps can be used to determine better package layout alternatives.
As a result of the recent advances in magnetic materials, the Magnetic Amplifier(Magamp) technique is one of the reliable and cost-effective postregulation method for multiple-output power supply. This is true for high-current postregulated output since at highter output current the efficiency of linear postregulation is unacceptably low, while the complexity of more efficient switch mode postregulator is associated with a significant cost. Magamp have some advantages of higher power density, simple control circuit, good regulation, high frequency and high performance. In this paper, Operation principle of proposed approach and a performance of magamp control circuit with TL431 is described. The comparative analysis of magamp circuit and buck regulator circuit with 20W load condition is conducted. Experimental verifications on multi-output flyback converter are conducted. Simulations and experimental results show that the proposed approach is efficiency and voltage regulation of the auxiliary output is excellent.
