A brief emergency planning educational presentation was taught during work hours to a convenience sample of employees of various workplaces in Northern Missouri, USA. Participants were familiarized with details about how an emergency plan is prepared by management and implemented by management-employee crisis management teams - focusing on both employee and management roles. They then applied the presentation information to assess their own organization's emergency preparedness level. Participants possessed significantly (p < 0.05) higher perceptions of their organization's level of emergency preparedness than non-participants. It is recommended that an assessment of organizational preparedness level supplement emergency planning educational presentations in order to immediately apply the material covered and encourage employees to become more involved in their organization's emergency planning and response. Educational strategies that involve management-employee collaboration in activities tailored to each workplace's operations and risk level for emergencies should be implemented.

Primary cardiac tumors are rare among malignancies, and primary pericardial tumors are much more rare than the former. Recently, the authors experienced a case of primary pericardial mesothelioma confirmed histopathologically in the Department of Thoracic Surgery, N. M. C., and this paper deals with presentation of the case and discussion about diagnostic problem swith brief review of literatures.

The Purpose of this writing is a presentation of small turbine efficiency measuring method, applicable new technology, and several analysis result for real turbine. Measurement methods of hydraulic efficiency written in here are extracted from small turbine applicable international code(IEC, ASME). It includes brief synopsis of 'Current meter method' and 4 other methods and ASFM as a new small turbine applicable technology. And several analysis of test result are for recently performed domestic small turbine result in korea. Through this presentation of extracted code, I hope that it make other small turbine concerner be familiar to perform an efficiency test. for small turbine. And, some analysis of that, make other to feel the importance of efficiency test.

This paper aims at implementing a new program designed to improve the level of communicative competence of Korean learners of English. For this purpose, the most important issue to be resolved is defined first. Then, a brief survey of the literature on the nature of communicative competence. Next, methodological considerations are added in because they are thought to be the keys to success. Lastly, the main teaching points are presented to ensure the success. The paper as a whole is a presentation of a new program for a better communicative competence. The new program is nothing other than actual communicative practice which ensures an authentic interaction.

To consider current concepts of epilepsy further, the brief review begins with a discussion of what is epilepsy, discribes multifactorial nature of epileptic disorders, and ends with a presentation of current classifications. A combination of the standard antiepielptic drugs(AEDs) may be necessary to treat intractable seizures, but no studies have been done to indicate an optimal combination. The new AEDs provide alternative choices, but questions remain about the optimal timing and manner of administration. AEDs selection must individualized, no drug of choice can be named for all patients.

먼저, 우리나라의 원자력 개발현황에 대한 개요를 제시한 후, 우리나라의 경우 원자력 에너지가 왜 필요한가를 분명하게 설명하였다. 이러한, 주요 현황을 제시한 다음, 원자력 개발 상의 제약 요인과 한국원자력산업의 가장 취약한 분야 등의 우리나라 원자력 산업의 주요 문제점들을 파악하여 이 문제점들에 대하여 논의하였다. 끝으로 결론적으로는 우리나라에서 원자력 발전의 증가와 관련하여 정부와 원자력 산업이 각각 취해야 할 제반조치들을 제시하였다.

Lipid oxidation is one of the most important non-microbial causes of meat quality deterioration. However, there have been different/conflicting views concerning the primary catalysts of lipid oxidation in meat. This presentation provides brief overviews of lipid oxidation mechanism in general and catalysis of lipid oxidation in meat, and then focuses on inter-species differences in lipid oxidation potential, using results from our studies on meats (beef, pork and chicken) at retail and the respective meats of uniform postmortem history. The inter-species differences have highlighted the relative roles of meat pigment (myoglobin) content, catalase activity, and the concentration of oxidation substrates (particularly polyunsaturated fatty acids) in determining the lipid oxidation potential of raw meat versus cooked meat.

Morgagni hernia is a rare condition of the congenital diaphragmatic hernia which Is located at the anteromedial portion of the diaphragm, and is located immediately posterior to the sternum. Its cause is considered by embryologic defect and the abdominal organs are passed through a defect. The incidence is predirected women over 50 years old. Its synonym is hernia of subcostosternal, retrosternal, parasternal, rectocostoxiphoid, anterior diaphragmatic or Larrey`s. This report presents a symptomatic Morgagni hernia of ten months old male child on whom the diagnosis was established and was operated at the Busan Gospel Hospital. This patient was admitted with the chief complaints of mild cyanosis, frequent upper respiratory infections and protrusion of the right lower anterior chest. Herniorrhaphy was performed through the upper abdominal midline incision, hernial contents of the omentum and the colon, and sac as noticed from the Larrey`s space measuring 4 x 2 cm. in diameter and oval in shape. Interrupted sutures without difficulty repaired the defect. The cyanosis was disappeared and the patient had uneventful course of post-operative period. The patient was discharged at 7th. postoperative day. This case presentation with a brief review of literatures is given.

Researches on manipulation pluripotent stem cells derived from blastocysts or promordial germ cells (PGCs) have a great advantages for developing innovative technologies in various fields of life science including medicine, pharmaceutics, and biotechnology. Since the first isolation in the mouse embryos, stem cells or stem cell-like colonies have been continuously established in the mouse of different strains, cattle, pig, rabbit, and human. In the animal species, stem cell biology is important for developing transgenic technology including disease model animal and bioreactor production. ES cell can be isolated from the inner cell mass of blastocysts by either mechanical operation or immunosurgery. So, mass production of blastocyst is a prerequisite factor for successful undertaking ES cell manipulation. In the case of animal ES cell research, various protocol of gamete biotechnology can be applied for improving the efficiency of stem cell research. Somatic cell nuclear transfer technique can be applied to researches on animal ES cells, since it is powerful tool for producing clone embryos containing genes of interest. In this presentation, a brief review was made for explaining how somatic cell nuclear transfer technology could contribute to improving stem cell manipulation technology.
