The yield of 3D stacked IC manufacturing improves with the pre-bond integrity testing of through silicon vias (TSVs). In this paper, an efficient pre-bond test method is presented based on IEEE std. 1500, which can precisely diagnose any happening of TSV defects. The IEEE std. 1500 wrapper cells are augmented for the proposed method. The pre-bond TSV test can be performed by adjusting the driving strength of TSV drivers and the test clock frequency. The experimental results show the advantages of the proposed approach.

This study is to investigate the bond characteristics of glass fiber reinforced polymer(GFRP) reinforcing bars in concrete by pullout test experimentally. Three different types of GFRP bars with different surface deformations were considered in this study. Also, standard deformed steel reinforcing bar with or without epoxy-coating were included for the comparisons of bond strength. All test procedures including specimens preparation, test apparatus and measuring devices were made according to the recommendation of CSA(Canadian Standards Association) Standard S806-02. From the test results, it was found that small surface indentations contributed to increase the bond strength of GFRP bar significantly. Based on the limited test results till now, the bond strength of GFRP bar with sand-coated deformation commercially available in foreign market is around $80\%$ of that of steel deformed bars.
The strengthening of reinforced concrete structures using externally bonded steel or advanced fibre reinforced plastic (FRP) composites is becoming increasingly common. A key factor affecting the behaviour and reliability of such strengthened structures is the bond strength between the steel or FRP plate and the concrete substrate. Several different experimental set-ups have previously been used to determine bond strength. This paper presents a careful finite element analysis of the stress distributions in these test set-ups. Results show that stress distributions can be significantly different for different set-ups, for similar materials and geometry.

Bonded concrete overlay is a favorable maintenance method since the material properties are similar to existing concrete pavements. In addition, bonded concrete overlay has advantage of structural performance based on being bonded together, both for the overlay layer and the existing pavement which perform as one monolithic layer. Therefore, it is important to have a suitable bond strength criteria for long term performance of bonded concrete overlay. This study aimed to investigate the affecting of bond strength on various bond characteristics, and to compare the bond strength between direct tensile test and indirect tensile test due to various conditions such as overlay materials, compressive and flexure strength of existing pavement, and deterioration status of existing pavement. As a result of this study, bond strength occurred by both of direct and indirect tensile test due to monotonic load is highly correlated such as coefficient of determination of 0.75 and P-value of 0.002. However, bond strength by indirect tensile test was relatively higher than bond strength by direct tensile test. It was known that correlation between direct and indirect tensile test was possible to use the characteristics analysis of bond fatigue behavior based on bond strength due to cyclic load which can simulate real field behavior of bonded concrete overlay.
Significant improvements in bond strength between new and existing concrete can be achieved through the modification of the new concrete by latex. This study focuses on the investigation of bond strength of latex modified concrete. Pull-out bond test and uniaxial direct tensile bond test are adopted for evaluating the adhesion characteristics of latex modified concrete to conventional concrete substrate. The main experimental variables are test methods, latex-cement ratio, surface preparations and moisture levels. The results are as follows; The increase of latex-cement ratio substantially improves the adhesion between latex modified concrete and substrate. The effects of surface preparation at substrate into the bonding of latex modified concrete are quite different according to the conditions of surfaces. Thus, an adequate surface preparations are essential for good bond strength. Because the moisture level of the substrate may be critical to achieving bond, optimum moisture condition for a conventional concrete has evaluated in this study. The saturated condition of surface is the most appropriate moisture level among the considered, followed by dry condition and wet condition.

The transfer of forces across the interface by bond between concrete and steel is of fundamental importance to many aspects of reinforced concrete behavior. Bond stress - slip relationships were studied using a symmetrical tension test specimen. This type of test is intented to simulate conditions in the tension zone of a concrete beam between primary cracks and below the neutral axis. These relationships between local bond stress and local slip are quite different at different locations along the bar. The present study allows more accurate analysis of reinforced concrete structures by employing more realistic bond stress-slip relations.
In pretensioned concrete structures, bond between prestressing steel and concrete is an essential component to ensure the integrity of a pretensioned member. The anchorage and development of the prestressing force depend exclusively on bond. The purpose of this study is to investigate the characteristics of bond and development length between pretensioned steel and concrete. To resolve the controversy over the adequacy of the current code provision on development length of prestressing strands, a comprehensive test program has been scheduled and twenty four rectangular prestressed concrete beams have been tested to determine development length. Major test variables include diameter of strands (12.7mm, 15.2mm) and concrete covers (3cm, 4cm, 5cm). The test results indicate that the development length based on the bond stress-slip relation. The proposed model can evaluate realistically the development length of pretensioned prestressed concrete members and can be the good basis for the future basis of code equations on development length of PSC members.
This paper presents experimental results on the residual bond-slip behavior of high strength concrete-filled square steel tube (HSCFST) after elevated temperatures. Three parameters were considered in this test: (a) temperature (i.e., $20^{\circ}C$, $200^{\circ}C$, $400^{\circ}C$, $600^{\circ}C$, $800^{\circ}C$); (b) concrete strength (i.e., C60, C70, C80); (c) anchorage length (i.e., 250 mm, 400 mm). A total of 17 HSCFST specimens were designed for push-out test after elevated temperatures. The load-slip curves at the loading end and free end were obtained, in addition, the distribution of steel tube strain and the bond stress along the anchorage length were analyzed. Test results show that the shape of load-slip curves at loading ends and free ends are similar. With the temperature constantly increasing, the bond strength of HSCFST increases first and then decreases; furthermore, the bond strength of HSCFCT proportionally increases with the anchoring length growing. Additionally, the higher the temperature is, the smaller and lower the bond damage develops. The energy dissipation capacity enhances with the concrete strength rasing, while, decreases with the temperature growing. What is more, the strain and stress of steel tubes are exponentially distributed, and decrease from the free end to loading end. According to experimental findings, constitutive formula of the bond slip of HSCFST experienced elevated temperatures is proposed, which fills well with test data.
A simple expression to predict bond strength of reinforcing bars with rib deformation to the surrounding is derived for the case of splitting bond failure. Finite element analysis is used to model the confining behavior of concrete cover. The roles of the interfacial properties, specifically, the friction coefficient, cohesion, the relative rib area and the rib face angle are examined. Values of bond strength obtained using the analytical model are in good agreement with the bond test results from the previous studies. The analytical model provides insight into interfacial bond mechanisms and the effects of the key variables on the bond strength of deformed bars to concrete. Based on the comparison between the analytical results and the test results, the values of cohesion, coefficient of friction, and the effective rib face angle are proposed.

Bond between reinforcing bar and surrounding concrete is supposed to transfer load safely in the process of design of reinforced concrete structures. Bond failure of reinforcing bar generally take place by splitting of the concrete cover as bond force between concrete and reinforcing bars exceeds the confinement of the concrete cover and reinforcement. However, the confinement force has a limitation. Thus, the only variable is the bearing angle corresponding to the change of bond force. Higher rib height bars possessing higher shearing resistance can maintain higher bearing angle and higher splitting resistance when bars are highly confined, and consequently higher bond strength, than lower rib higher bars. In this study, from the evaluate bond strength of high Relative Rib Area Bars Using beam-end test specimens are compared with the current provisions for development of reinforcement, and the improved design method of bond strength is proposed.
