  • Highly significant correlation (p < 0.001) was found between body weight and chest circumference of the local Katjang and cross-bred (local Katjang ♀ ${\times}$ German Fawn ♂ bucks under study. Increase in body length, chest circumference, depth of chest and height at withers (p < 0.001) reflected significantly the increase in body weight of the bucks. At the same age the cross-breds were bigger than the indigenous breed. No significant correlation was detected between body weight and scrotal circumference, or the latter with sperm counts in both buck types under study. However, the fluid portion of the semen increased in acidity and volume, the latter being significant (P < 0.01) in the local Katjangs, with increase in scrotal circumference. Although the effects of body condition on buck libido of both groups were not significant, the reaction time taken to mount the teaser females were significantly diminished (p < 0.001) with better body condition, at least in the local Katjangs. The reaction time gad an inverse, though not necessarily significant, relationship with semen characteristics such as volume, pH (in local Katjangs, p < 0.05), concentration, color (in cross-breds, p < 0.05), agglutination and mass movements in both phenotypes.

  • The turbulent flow with wake, reattachment and recirculation is a very important problem that is related to vehicle dynamics and aerodynamics. The Smagorinsky Model (SM), the Dynamics Subgrid Scale Model (DSM), and the Lagrangian Dynamic Subgrid Scale Model (LDSM) are used to predict the three-dimensional flow field around a bluff body model. The Reynolds number used is 45,000 based on the bulk velocity and the height of the bluff body. The fully developed turbulent flow, which is generated by the driver part, is used for the inlet boundary condition. The Convective boundary condition is imposed on the outlet boundary condition, and the Spalding wall function is used for the wall boundary condition. We compare the results of each model with the results of the PIV measurement. First of all, the LES predicts flow behavior better than the k-$\xi$ turbulence model. When ew compare various LES models, the DSM and the LDSM agree with the PIV experimental data better than the SM in the complex flow, with the separation and the reattachment at the upper front part of th bluff body. But in the rear part of the bluff body, the SM agrees with the PIV experimental results better than them. In this case, the SM predicts overall flow behavior better than the DSM nd the LDSM.

  • Oryoungsan which first recorded in Sanghanron, the clinical medical book consists of treating acute febrile disease according to its change, is one of the frequently used oriental medicines. these days, it has been prescribed in symptoms accompanied by edema mostly. therefore it is easy to consider it as a type of diuretics. In Sanghanron it was originally used in the symptoms of perspiration, decreased urine volume, thirsty, flatulence. these symptoms indicate loss of body fluid and the prescription which orders "taking warm water sufficiently" supports this. On this background, it is supposed that Oryoungsan treats dehydration after providing water and electrolytes. To consider that herbal medicines consisted of Oryoungsan make electrolytes go out of the body, The healing mechanism of dehydration doesn't meet this. Because Oryoungsan was used in condition of fever or in similar condition, it is more resonable to understand that restoration of increasing blood flow to the subcutaneous venous plexus regulating body temperature in febrile condition into body circulation, resulting into maintaining main blood volume and into treating decreased urine volume and thirsty is Oryoungsan's function in the dehydration or febrile condition. That is, symptoms are decreased or disappeared through restoring unbalance of internal body fluid. The other target is pain controls, especially chronic headache, facial pain and trigeminal neuralgia. it is suggested that the function of pain control of Oryoungsan is related to 5-HT(5-hydroxytrypamine), nerve transmitter in the endogenous analgesic system. Moreover it is also suggested that Oryoungsan is relate to 5-HT, considering the fact that gastroparesis, a symptom of cyclic vomiting syndrome treated with 5-HT1D receptor agonist is similar to the 'bi', symptoms appeared in the Oryoungsan-related disease.

  • This study was done to investigate the relationship between the perception of body image, body weight satisfaction or dietary behavior and self-rated health status in Korean college students. Subjects, 285 college students, were divided into three groups (healthy, normal, and unhealthy) according to the answer for the self-rated health question. Information about demographic status, self-rated health condition, height and weight, perception of body image, satisfaction of body weight, concern for body weight control, dietary behavior, nutritional knowledge, and health-related characteristics collected by a self-reported questionnaire. The proportion of men and women in each group was not significantly different. The academic year, major, experience of nutritional education, and type of residence were not significantly related with self-rated health but the pocket money range was significantly associated (p<0.05) with self-rated health. The proportion of subjects rated their health as unhealthy was the lowest in 210-300 thousand won pocket money range and was increased in less than 210 thousand won or over 300 thousand won pocket money ranges. There were no significant differences for age, height, weight and BMI between the groups. The body image perception and body weight satisfaction levels of healthy group was significantly higher than those of unhealthy group (p<0.01 and p<0.001, respectively), but the level of concern for body weigh1 control in healthy subjects was significantly lower than that in unhealthy subjects (p<0.05). The proportion of subjects reported as healthy was significantly increased with increased frequencies of following food behaviors; weekly use of protein foods (p<0.01), vegetables (p<0.05) and dairy products (p<0.01), and food habits such as "regularity of meal time" (p<0.01), "eating in moderation" (p<0.05), and "eating breakfast" (p<0.001). Overall results suggested that the college students have tended to have a better perception of health when they have better body image perception, body weight satisfaction and dietary behaviors.

  • Many mechanical systems are over-constrained if only rigid bodies are used to model the system. One example of such system is a satellite system with solar panels. To avoid this over-constrained problem, solar panels can be modeled as flexible bodies. The CMS(Component Mode Synthesis) method is widely used to analyze the flexible multi-body system because it can considerably approximate the deformation of the flexible bodies using small number of well-selected mode. However, it is very difficult to decide the boundary condition and the selection of modes. In this paper, the methods for mode synthesis and setting the boundary condition are presented to analyze the flexible multi-body system with over-constraints. Finally, the reliability of proposed method is verified by solar panel's deployment test.

  • This article deals with the transient analysis using multi-flexible body dynamics of a trailer vehicle, which is passing a bump on the flat road. In order to investigate the transient dynamic behavior of the trailer, we developed an equivalent finite element model for the trailer and a vehicle dynamic model for the truck using multi-body dynamics. The driving condition considered here is set as the trailer vehicle passes a bump on the flat road in 7km/h. And we investigate the time histories of vertical load and deflections on connecting points between the trailer and truck during the vehicle passes a bump. Due to the dynamic load resulted from the driving condition, additional stress concentrations are found in the trailer and the suspension connecting points between the trailer and rear axles along with kingpin.

  • The hypersonic flow on the stagnation streamline of a blunt body is analyzed with quasi one-dimensional (1-D) Navier-Stokes equations approximated by adopting the local similarity to the two-dimensional (2-D)/axisymmetric Navier-Stokes equations. The governing equations are solved using the implicit finite volume method. The computational domain is confined from the stagnation point to the shock wave, and the shock fitting method is used to find the shock position. We propose a boundary condition at the shock, which employs the shock wave angle in the vicinity of the stagnation streamline using the shock shape correlation. As a result of numerical computation conducted for the hypersonic flow over a sphere, the proposed boundary condition is shown to improve the accuracy of the prediction of the shock standoff distance. The quasi 1-D Navier-Stokes code is efficient in computing time and is reliable for the flow analysis along the stagnation streamline and the prediction of heat flux at the stagnation point in the hypersonic blunt body flow.

  • The rigid body properties of a structure may be estimated easily if the mass-line of the structure could be taken exactly. However, the exact mass-line cannot be obtained experimentally. In the past years, the modal analysis for which the structure is mounted on the flexible supporter is frequently used to acquire the mass-line. Unfortunately, it is difficult not only to mount the structure but also to decouple the coupled 6 dof mode. If the structure is pended by very long and flexible rope to act free, the rigid-body modes influenced by the rope will be eliminated and the improved mass-line will be obtained. In this paper, the method using the mass-line of F.R.F. for rigid body in free-condition is suggested. The robustness of the suggested method was tested and verified numerically. The experimental results also showed a good agreement with the true value.

  • Generally the noise and vibration characteristics of 4WD vehicle is closely related to the characteristics of driveline such as bending mode, torsional mode, unbalance and nonuniformity of propeller shaft. In this paper the 4WD vehicle which has body vibration problem in high speed driving condition was tested. The sources of the body vibration and its transfer path are investigated by experimental approach. According to the experimental assessment, the body vibration is caused by the nonuniformity of joint of propeller shaft. And this paper presents a kinematic model of a vehicle driveline for the optimization of a driveline characteristics. Finally the optimized result of the drive line has been verified through the experiment.
