A bent-shape triazolyl derivative was synthesized via click chemistry, and its photophysical property was investigated in various solvents. In contrast to the invisible ultraviolet emission of other solutions, the chloroform solution exhibited a blue light emission at 460 nm. Furthermore, the blue fluorescence intensified as the UV exposure time at 365 nm increased. On the basis of $^1H$-NMR, pH paper, and acid-addition studies, we confirmed that chloroform was decomposed into HCl with the aid of the triazolyl derivative. The density functional theory calculations suggested that the eye-detectable blue fluorescence was attributed to an intramolecular charge transfer process of the protonated triazolyl derivative in the chloroform solution.
The surface flames in porous ceramic burner are experimentally characterized to investigate the effects of equivalence ratio and firing rates. The results show that the surface flames are classified into green, red radiant and blue surface flame as decrease of equivalence ratio. And each flame is maintained very stably and shows the same flame characteristics at any orientation of ceramic burner. Particularly the blue surface flame was found to be very stable at very lean equivalence ratio at 200 to $800\;kw/m^2$ firing rates. And the exhausted NOx was analysed to find out which flame has lower NOx emission. The blue surface flame showed the lowest NOx emission regardless of the location of burner since it sustained very stable at lean mixture ratio.

In this thesis, blue emission organic light emitting devices were fabricated by using vacuum deposition method. Two types of device were employed to realize blue emission. Type I had an emitting layer containing TPB-doped $Alq_3$ and type II had an emitting layer containing DPA-doped $Alq_3$. The variable dopant concentration was 0.5 ~2 wt%. The electrical and optical characteristics of these devices have been investigated. The more dopant concentration increased, the nearer the blue coordinate. Type I than type II had a lower turn on voltage and driving voltage. The emission luminescence of type II was brighter than that of type I. When we applied 15V to type II with DPA(2wt%)-doped $Alq_3$, we have achived the emission luminescence of 1282cd/$m^2$, the emission wavelength of 476nm and the blue emission CIE coordination of (0.1273, 0.0672)
This study investigates price discovery between BlueNext spot and futures in EU ETS carbon emission markets using vector error correction model, GG and Hasbruck information ratio. Especially EUA is European Union Allowances traded on the Emissions Trading Scheme. This emission asset attracts and increasing attention among operators, investors and brokers on emission markets. In this study, we found BlueNext spot and EUA futures market are cointegrated. Following the preceding studies, we judged that EUA futures market contribute to the price discovery process than BlueNext spot market when this GG and Hasbrouck information ratio for BlueNext market are larger than 0.5. In other words, the futures market of EUA plays a more dominant role in price discovery than the spot market.
Halide perovskites are emerging materials for next-generation display applications, thanks to their narrow emission linewidth and band gap tunability, capable of covering the entire range of visible light. Despite their short period of research, perovskite light emitting diodes (PeLEDs) have shown rapid progress in device external quantum efficiency (EQE) in the near-infrared (NIR), red, and green emission wavelengths, and the record EQE has exceeded over 20 %. However there has been limited progress with blue emission compared to the red and green counterparts. In this review, the current status and challenges of blue PeLEDs are introduced, and strategies to produce spectrally stable blue PeLEDs are discussed. The strategies include 1) a mixed halide system in the form of 3-dimensional (3D) perovskites, 2) colloidal perovskite nanocrystals and 3) low dimensional perovskites, known as quasi-2D perovskites. In the mixed halide system, previous reports based on the compositional engineering of 3D perovskites to reduce spectral instability (i.e., halide segregation) will be discussed. Since spectral instability issue originate from the mixed halide composition in perovskites, the two other strategies are based on enlarging the band gap with a single halide composition. Finally, the prospects for each strategy are discussed, for further improvement in spectrally stable blue PeLEDs.
Tandem white organic light emitting diodes (WOLEDs) are fabricated by using a transparent interconnecting layer of Al:LiF composite/molybdenum oxides ($MoO_3$). We demonstrate two types of tandem WOLEDs consisting of two color emissions (red and blue emission) and three color emissions (red, green and blue emission). Tandem WOLED consisting of three color emission shows higher external quantum efficiency and current efficiency.

Two donor-acceptor-donor monomers such as 3,5-bis(4-bromophenyl)-1,2,4-oxadiazole (BOB) and 3,5-bis(5-bromothiophen-2-yl)-1,2,4-oxadiazole (TOT) incorporating electron transporting and hole blocking 1,2,4-oxadiazloe moiety were copolymerized with light emitting fluorene derivative via Suzuki polycondensation to afford two new polymers, PFBOB and PFTOT, respectively. The optical studies for polymers PFBOB and PFTOT revealed that the band gaps are 3.10 eV and 2.72 eV, respectively, and polymer PFBOB exhibited a deep-blue emission while polymer PFTOT showed blue emission in chloroform and as thin film. The photoluminescence quantum efficiencies (${\Phi}_f$) of polymers PFBOB and PFTOT in chloroform calculated against highly blue emitting 9,10-diphenylanthracene (DPA, ${\Phi}_f=0.90$) were 1.00 and 0.44, respectively.
Among the environmental conditions employed in micropropagation, light quality plays an important role in growth, specially morphogenesis and photosynthesis. The effect of radiation quality (350-740 nm) on the development and growth of zygotic embryos and in vitro plantlets of open-pollinated chestnut (Castanea crenata S. et Z.) were studied. Two types of explants were exposed for 4 weeks to cool white (W, as control), monochromatic red (R, peak emission 650 nm), monochromatic blue (B, peak emission 440 nm), red+blue (R+B, 1:1), or red+far-red (R+Fr, 1:1, far-red peak emission 720 nm) radiation from a light-emitting-diode (LED) system. While the zygotic embryos showed positive photoblastic behavior, their germination was inhibited by blue radiation. Hypocotyl elongation and root development were promoted by red radiation. The emergence of primary leaf and its expansion were faster under blue than under red radiation. In the plantlets, red and red+far-red radiation significantly increased the formation and growth of the root, whereas blue light reduced rooting. Therefore, radiation quality appears to influence some steps in the development of zygotic embryos and plantlets in the chestnut.

We have synthesized new blue light emitting random copolymers, poly(9,9'-n-dioctylfluorene-co-perfluorobenzene-1,4-diyl)s (PFFBs), via Ni(0)-mediated coupling reactions. The weight-average molecular weights ($M_w$) of the PFFB copolymers ranged from 9,000 to 15,000. The PFFB copolymers dissolved in common organic solvents such as THF and toluene. The PL emission peaks of the PFFB copolymers were at around 420, 440, and 470 nm. EL devices were fabricated in ITO/PEDOT/polymer/Ca/Al configurations using these polymers. These EL devices were found to exhibit pure blue emission with approximate CIE coordinates of (0.15, 0.11) at $100cd/m^2$. The blue emissions of these devices might be due to the restriction of the polymer chains to aggregation by introducing of the highly electronegative fluorine moieties. The maximum brightnesses of the PFFB copolymer devices ranged from 140 to $3600cd/m^2$ with maximum efficiencies from 0.2 to 0.6 cd/A. The enhanced efficiency of the PFFB (8/2) copolymer device results from the inhibition of excimer formation by the introduction of the electronegative fluorine moieties into the copolymers.

The optical properties of $ZnS_{y}Se_{1-x-y}:Te_x\;(x\;<\;0.08,\;y\∼0.11$) alloys grown by molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) have been investigated by photoluminescence (PL) and PL-excitation (PLE) spectroscopy. Good optical properties and high crystal quality were established with lattice match condition to GaAs substrate. At room temperature, emission in the visible spectrum region from blue to green was obtained by varying the Te content of the ZnSSe:Te alloy. The efficient blue and green emission were assigned to $Te_{1}$Tel and $Te_{n}$ (n$\geq$2) cluster bound excitons, respectively. Bright blue (462 nm) and green (535 nm) light emitting diodes (LEDs) have been developed using ZnSSe:Te system as an active layer.
