망상구조 폴리우레탄 담체를 이용한 황화수소 제거 (Removal of Hydrogen Sulfide using Reticulated Polyurethan Carrier in Biofilter)

  • 본 연구에서는 생물학적 공정을 사용하여 황화수소를 제거하는데 있어 망상구조의 폴리우레탄 담체의 바이오필터 충진물로서의 특성을 유입가스농도와 유입가스량의 두 변수를 대상으로 조사하였다. 실험결과 망상구조의 폴리우레탄 담체를 적용한 바이오필터의 황화수소 최대제거용량은 $488.3g-H_2S/m^3{\cdot}h$이었으며, 추정된 임계부하속도는 $330.1g-H_2S/m^3{\cdot}h$이었다. 본 연구의 결과 망상구조의 폴리우레탄 담체를 황화수소의 생물학적 처리를 위한 바이오필터의 담체로서 적용가능성을 확인하였다.

Hydrogen Permeance of Ce1-xYxO2-δ Membranes According to Yttrium Content

  • Porous ceramic membranes consisting of $Ce_{1-x}Y_xO_{2-{\delta}}$ were developed for hydrogen permeation tests. Various amounts (x = 0, 0.05, 0.1, 0.2) of yttrium were doped to ceria to study the effect of yttrium doping on ceria membranes on various properties, including hydrogen permeability. $Ce_{1-x}Y_xO_{2-{\delta}}$ powder was synthesized by the sol-gel method. These membranes were fabricated by pressing and sintering at $1300^{\circ}C$ for 6 h. As the amount of yttrium increased, the grain size of the membrane decreased. Hydrogen permeability was improved as the yttrium content increased. Selective permeability of hydrogen compared to CO is explained by electric conductivity. As the temperature rose, both the hydrogen perm-selectivity and electric conductivity on $Ce_{0.8}Y_{0.2}O_{1.9}$ improved.

Hydrogen Permeation of ZnO-SiC Membranes Encapsulated with SiO2

  • ZnO and SiC powders were fabricated to make crack-free composite membranes. Parts of some membranes were re-treated with an encapsulation process. These membranes were characterized by XRD, BET, and FE-SEM analyzes. The hydrogen permeation fluxes of the encapsulated and heat-treated membranes after encapsulation were observed using Sievert's type equipment. Values were measured at 1 bar with increasing temperatures. The obtained values of encapsulated and further heat-treated membrane at 298 K were $4.20{\times}10^{-6}$ and $8.64{\times}10^{-5}mol/m^2sPa$, respectively.

팔라듐이 담지된 중형 기공성 탄소 재료를 이용한 수소 저장 (Hydrogen Storage Using Pd Doped Mesoporous Carbon Materials)

  • 본 연구에서는 실리카 주형을 사용하여 중형기공성 탄소 재료인 CMK-3와 CMK-5를 제조하였으며 이의 수소 저장량을 측정하였다. 비교 물질로는 탄소 재료 중 수소 저장에 관해 가장 많은 연구가 이루어진 다중벽 탄소나노튜브를 사용하였다. 실험 결과, 탄소체에 흡착되는 수소의 양은 탄소 물질의 표면적과 매우 밀접한 관계가 있으며 표면적이 증가될수록 수소 저장량이 증가함을 확인할 수 있다. 본 연구에서 사용된 탄소 재료 중 CMK-5가 가장 높은 수소 저장량을 나타내었으며 CMK-3, MWCNT 순으로 높은 수소 저장량을 보였다. CMK-5의 경우, 팔라듐을 도핑하였을 때 수소 저장량이 매우 크게 증가하였으며 이는 hydrogen spill-over 효과에 의한 것으로 생각되며 이와 같은 현상은 팔라듐이 도핑된 CMK-5의 수소 저장량을 결정하는데 가장 큰 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다.

Gas Permeation of Y2O3-SiC Composite Membrane

  • $Y_2O_3$-SiC composite membrane was dip-coated using $Y_2O_3$ sol solution; this membrane was compared with a non- coated one. Each membrane was characterized by XRD, FE-SEM and BET techniques. Hydrogen and CO permeation were tested with self-manufactured Sievert's type equipment. $Y_2O_3$ coating was enhanced for the selectivity of the membrane ($H_2$ versus CO). The hydrogen permeation was measured at 1 bar with increasing temperatures. In case of the coated membrane, hydrogen permeation was found to be $1.24{\times}10^{-7}mol/m^2sPa$ with perm-selectivity of 4.26 at 323 K.

Modulation of chromatic reversibility of polydiacetylene Langmuir Schafer (LS) films by cadmium ion Ad/desorption

  • Although the reversibility of 10,12-pentacosadiynoic amino meta-acid(PCDA-mBzA) against temperature and pH was reported, the modulation of reversibility by ion adsorption at terminal functional group has not been investigated. In this work, we developed a simple method for modulating the reversibility of PCDA-mBzA films upon a thermal stimulus by cadmium ion adsorption inducing the breakage of the outer hydrogen bonding of two hydrogen bonds, which are responsible for the reversible properties of PCDA-mBzA. External reflection-Fourier transform infrared (ER-FTIR) analyses revealed that the hydrogen bonding between the carboxylic acid groups was broken through ion adsorption and only a single hydrogen bond between the amide groups remained in the PCDA-mBzA polymer. In addition, PCDA-mBzA films could recover their original property through cadmium ion desorption. These results present that the transition between reversibility and irreversibility can be modulated artificially simply through the adsorption and desorption of metal ions.

  • Recently columnar liquid crystals have been studied due to their possible application to organic conducting materials. Supramolecular columnar liquid crystals consist of mesogenic unit which can aggregate into discs that will make up the columns which associate to form a two-dimensional network. In this study, we prepared supramolecular columnar liquid crystals containing hydrogen bonding between carboxylic acid and, pyridine moieties. Thermal and structural properties of prepared complexe were investigated, and it exhibited hexagonal columnar structure ($Col_{h}$) at room temperature.

알칼리 NaBH4 용액에서 Co-B 촉매를 이용한 수소발생반응에 관한 연구 (A Study on Hydorgen Generation from Alkaline NaBH4 Solution Using Co-B Catalysts)

  • For hydrogen generation from aqueous alkilne $NaBH_4$ solution, Co-B catalyst was prepared by chemical reduction method using $NaBH_4$ as a reduction chemical. Effects of solution temperature, amount of catalyst loading, $NaBH_4$ concentration, and NaOH (a base-stabilizer) concentration on the hydrogen generation rate were exmanined. Compared to Ru catalyst generally used, the low-cost Co-B catalyst exhibited almost comparable activity to the hydrogen generation reaction.
