한의과 대학 직업윤리 교육 현황을 통해 바라본 의료인 윤리교육 방법론 연구 (Study on Bioethical Education of Oriental Medical Doctor, Based on Vocational Ethics of Medical Personnel)

  • The medical profession has the problem of lack of bioethics, due to the expansion of capitalism and mannerism after modernization. Therefore, the need of education of bioethics is increasing, however, the cramming system of education is insufficient for promoting personal morals. So the author studied ancient and present bioethics and searched for the cause of current bioethics absence and the method of overcoming it. Especially, studying the vocational features of oriental medical doctor as profession and the problems of education of bioethics in oriental medical college, the author searched for the directions of educations of bioethics. The conclusions are as follows. The current medical profession have ethical problems because of social moral hazard, evils of capitalism, change of doctor-patient relationship due to expansion of consumerism, limitation of autonomy due to commercialize of hospitals, decrease of knowledge monopolism of professionals, moral indifference and frailty, and a missdeed preference. The education of bioethics needs "Rest's 4 components" but the current education of bioethics in oriental medicine college lacks of time and is composed of the cramming system of education. So it needs various types of education system. Morals are subjective and discretionary personal character. Therefore, informational education is insufficient for enhancing morals and complex education for various personal attainments (various social indirect experience, philosophical speculation, mental serenity) is needed. It has to be done on the basis of educational method by experience not lecture, long term expectation, and basic understanding of bioethics.

생명윤리와 생명윤리교육에 대한 초등학교 교사의 인식 조사 (Primary School Teachers' Interest and Understanding of Bioethical Issues and Bioethics Teaching)

  • This study aims to examine primary school teachers' interest and understanding of bioethical issues, and to analyze their perception of bioethics teaching in the primary school education. For this purpose, the questionnaires were constructed. The data were collected from 553 primary teachers in the whole country. Major findings of the studys are as follows. First, most primary school teachers showed high level of interest about bioethical issues, but they had the limited understanding about bioethical issues. Primary teachers showed the highest interest about' respect for human life' and the lowest understanding of 'awareness of current biotechnology' Second, the prior reasons why primary teachers wanted to teach specific bioethical issues in the classes were that 'they were closely related to social phenomena' and 'they were appropriate for enhancing students' awareness of the value of life'. Third, the lack of the teachers' knowledge about bioethics and limited supply of teaching materials were found to be barriers, which prevent them from teaching bioethical issues. The implications of these results are discussed for the improvement of bioethics teaching in primary school education.

사회행동과학연구에서의 생명윤리와 기관생명윤리위원회(IRB)의 이해 (A Review of Bioethics and the IRB in Social and Behavioral Research)

  • Objective: The purpose of this paper is to understand the bioethics and the Institutional Review Board (IRB) in the social and behavioral research area through "The Bioethics and Safety Act" and to examine the IRB's present situation, roles, responsibilities, and tasks. Methods: This paper reviewed articles, materials for education, and "The Bioethics and Safety Act" related with the IRB. Results: Bioethics included all the research in the social and behavioral area, and "The Bioethics and Safety Act" has been enforced in every research projects targeting human subjects since February 2, 2013. Accoding to the law, the IRB must review the research proposals for human subjects and was introduced in social and behavioral research as a self-regulating system. At present, all the related institutions including universities must establish and run the IRB. This paper introduced the definition of bioethics, the IRB's roles and review types, the total number of registered IRB, and "The Bioethics and Safety Act". Conclusion/Implications: Both the central government and the local government have to make an effort for the establishment and settlement of the IRB system. This paper also presented some of the problems of the IRB.

노인요양시설 봉사경험 간호대학생의 생명윤리 주관성 (Subjectivity about Bioethics among Nursing Students with Experience Volunteering in Elderly Care Facilities)

  • Purpose: This study aims to determine the bioethical subjectivity of nursing students with experience volunteering in elderly care facilities, and the characteristics that comprise the types thereof. Methods: Q methodology, which analyzes the subjectivity of each type, was used. The 37 selected Q statements from 32 participants were classified into the shape of a normal distribution using a 9-point scale. The collected data were analyzed using the PC-QUANL program. Results: The survey revealed that the bioethical subjectivity of nursing students with experience volunteering in elderly care facilities can be divided into three types: a rational dignity emphasis, an autonomous right to life belief, and conflict avoidance. All three attitudes regard human beings as possessing dignity, and life and death as elements to be experienced as aspects of human life. Bioethical values are critical to treatment and care; however, it is sometimes also held that humans have the right to commit suicide. Conclusion: This study enhanced our awareness of nursing students' bioethics. The findings can be used as a basis for the design of differentiated bioethics education according to each type of bioethical subjectivity. This calls for diverse research on bioethics and the implementation of effective bioethics education.

종합병원 간호사의 인공지능윤리의식, 생명윤리의식 및 인간중심돌봄간의 관계 (Relationship between Artificial Intelligence Ethical Awareness, Bioethics Awareness, and Person-Centered Care of General Hospital Nurses)

  • Purpose: This study investigated the relationship between artificial intelligence ethical awareness, bioethics awareness, and person-centered care of general hospital nurses. Methods: The participants were 192 nurses. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, analysis of variance, and Pearson's correlation coefficient with the SPSS program. Results: The average points for artificial intelligence ethical awareness, bioethics awareness, and person-centered care were 2.93, 2.77, and 3.50, respectively. Artificial intelligence ethical awareness and bioethics awareness had statistically significant negative relationships. Artificial intelligence ethical awareness, bioethics awareness, and person-centered care were not significantly correlated. Conclusion: Education, training, and organizational support are needed to improve artificial intelligence ethics awareness, bioethics awareness, and person-centered care for general hospital nurses.

4차 산업혁명 시대의 윤리적 이슈와 대학의 생명윤리교육 방향 제고 (Ethical Issues in the Forth Industrial Revolution and the Enhancement of Bioethics Education in Korean Universities)

  • 4차 산업혁명시대가 도래했다는 관심이 증가되면서 이에 따른 윤리적 이슈에 대한 탐구 및 대학 교육의 방향에 대한 제고가 필요하게 되었다. 본 논문의 목적은 4차 산업혁명 시대의 대표적 기술분야인 인공지능, 빅데이터, 유전체 기술, 가상현실의 윤리적 이슈 및 국내외 정책과 교육 현황을 살펴보고 앞으로 대학의 생명윤리교육이 나아가야 할 방향을 제안하는 것이다. 4차 산업혁명시대의 국내외 정책과 교육현황을 요약하면, 국외는 4차 산업혁명 기술의 잠재적 이득과 사회적 위험에 대한 법적, 윤리적 고려를 바탕으로 관련 가이드 라인 및 규제 권고안이 발표되었고, 과학 기술의 발전에 따른 학생들의 윤리적 가치 확립의 중요성이 정책적으로 강조됨에 따라 4차 산업혁명시대의 기술개발과 관련된 생명윤리교육과정이 개설된 바 있으며, 대학 내 윤리실험실 개설, 공개 토론회를 넘어 온라인 공개 강좌를 통해 생명윤리 교육의 접근성을 높이고 있다. 국내의 경우에도 최근 공청회 등을 통해 4차 산업시대의 정책방향에 대한 논의가 이루어지고 있으며, 대학교육 또한 시대적 흐름에 맞는 생명윤리 교육을 제공하기 위한 시도가 이루어지고 있다. 그러나 국내 대학의 생명윤리교육은 전통적인 생명윤리 주제에 새로운 과학기술로 야기된 윤리적 이슈를 일부 추가하여 운영되는 교육과정이 대부분이며, 단일 전공 교수자의 강의 운영, 선택 과목, 비정기적인 강의 개설, 그리고 온라인 공개 강좌의 부재 등의 제한점이 확인되었다. 이에 따라, 본 논문에서는 추후 국내 대학의 생명윤리교육을 개선하기 위한 방안을 다음과 같이 제안하고자 한다; 국내 대학의 생명윤리교육은 다직군 간 교육으로 개발되고, 점진적으로 필수 교육과정으로 지정하여 교육의 기회를 확보하며, 온라인 공개 강좌로 확대 개설할 필요가 있다. 또한, 대학 내 생명윤리 이슈에 관한 공개 토론의 장을 마련하고 과학기술의 발전과 그 변화를 함께할 수 있도록 주기적인 논의를 통해 생명윤리교육의 내용을 지속적으로 개선해야 할 것이다.

중학교 3학년 과학 '유전과 진화' 영역을 통한 생명윤리의식 함양 (Improvement of Bioethics in the Unit of 'Heredity and Evolvement' of Middle School Ninth-Grade Science)

  • The purpose of this study was to establish objectives for ninth grade studies of heredity and evolution in middle school in an attempt to foster students' consciousness of bioethics, and it's additionally intended to develop and apply lesson plans handling different points at issue and to determine the effects of the lesson plans on the bioethics of middle school students. The subjects in this study were 152 ninth graders in a middle school, whose science scores were similar. An experimental group and a control group were made up of 76 students respectively, and a pretest was conducted with test paper developed by this researcher to assess their awareness of bioethics. The experimental group took lessons by using the teaching plans prepared in this study, and the control group received typical education according to the curriculum. And then a posttest was implemented with test paper developed in this study to compare the two groups. In addition their science grades were compared as well. The findings of the study were as follows: First, seven learning objectives were selected from three units related to bioethics in the third-year 8th category of heredity and evolution of middle school. Second, in order to attain the selected learning objectives, four session lesson plans were prepared. Third, the experimental group that studied using by the lesson plans made better progress in bioethics awareness and the gap between the two was statistically significant(t=6.61, p<.001). The former were ahead of the latter in consciousness about species equity(t=7.71, p<.001), the dignity of life (t=3.78, p<.001), human rights(t=2.99, p<.01) and equity among generations(t=2.66, p<.01), but not in awareness of the diversity of species. Fourth, there was no significant gap in science scores between the students studied according to the curriculum and those who received instructions by using the lesson plans developed in the study.

윤리학 이론과 생명과학 관련 사회과학적 논쟁거리에 적절한 생명윤리 교수-학습 방법의 탐색 (An Exploration of the Teaching/Learning Methods of Bioethics Appropriate for Ethical Theories and Socio-scientific Issues in Biological Sciences)

  • 과학과 기술 분야에서 발생하는 윤리적 논쟁거리를 가르치기 위해 많은 방법들이 사용되어 왔다. 그러나 그런 생명윤리 교수법이 윤리학 이론을 근거로 정당화되지 않았으며, 실용적 효용도 대부분 확인되지 않았다. 이 논문의 목적은 중 고등학교의 생명과학에 관련된 사회과학적 논쟁거리와 윤리적 이론에 적절한 생명윤리 교수법을 제안하고자 함이다. 이 논문에서는 지금까지 제시된 13가지의 생명윤리 교수-학습 방법 가운데에서 윤리학 이론에 비추어 타당하며 현행 우리나라 교육적 여건에 대한 실용성도 높다고 판단되는 아홉 가지의 생명윤리 교수-학습 방법의 특성을 적용하기 적절한 생명윤리 논쟁거리 또는 상황, 교수-학습 방법을 잘 설명하는 윤리학 이론과 법칙, 실례 등으로 기술하였다.

호스피스 간호사의 생명윤리의식과 환자중심간호가 임종간호태도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Bioethics Awareness and Patient-Centered Care on Attitude of Terminal Care of Hospice Nurses)

  • 본 연구는 호스피스 간호사의 생명윤리의식과 환자중심간호가 임종간호태도에 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위해 수행된 서술적 조사연구이다. 대상자는 국내 병원의 호스피스 병동에서 근무하는 간호사 145명이다. 자료는 2018년 5월 1일부터 6월 30일까지 수집되었다. 자료의 분석은 SPSS 24.0 프로그램을 이용하여 서술적 통계, t-test, one way-ANOVA, Pearson 상관관계분석과 위계적 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 임종간호태도에 영향을 미치는 요소로는 호스피스 전문간호사 자격증(β=.15, p=.031), 생명윤리의식(β=-.24, p=.003)과 환자중심간호(β=.36, p<.001)가 나타났으며, 이 변수들은 임종간호태도를 39.6% 설명하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 토대로 호스피스간호사의 임종간호 향상을 위해서는 생명윤리의식을 포함한 환자중심간호 능력을 향상시키기 위한 프로그램이 제공되어야 한다.

죽음, 죽어감, 신생아 중환자실에서 어떻게 받아들여야하나 (What can we do for dying neonate in NICU?)

  • Death is not only a medical problem; it is also an ethical problem. When doctors face a dying neonate, their knowledge of bioethics and the opinions of ethical specialists and religious leaders are helpful for them and the family of the dying baby. In recent years, due to the increase of surviving babies who have suffered from severe illness, those born too small or too early, and those with severe anomalies in neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), we have met with complicated bioethical problems frequently. To lessen the burdens of doctors and the parents of the dying baby, I reviewed medical, ethical and religious articles about bioethics in adult death. My suggestions are listed as follows: 1) regular bioethical education and activation of bioethical committees in NICU, 2) a well-controlled nationwide database, 3) a hospice unit space and programs for dying baby in NICU, and 4) social support for pregnant women and financial support for the NICU.
