Customer satisfaction dominates research on customer-firm performance relationships; however, with a few exceptions, the authors of most prior studies did not examine the possibility that an organizations' customer relationship management can increase its knowledge management. Building on previous literature of information processing theory and transaction cost perspective, this paper investigates the effect of various characteristics of customer relationship an organization cultivates on its own innovativeness. Specifically, we identify closeness, communication, sympathy as three critical components of managing customer relationship. Data from a multi-informant survey conducted to 442 organizations in Korean bank industry show that an organization's relationship with its customers has significant effects on its innovativeness. This study highlights the importance of customer relationship in terms of enhancing innovations, and helps to explain interactive effects among customer relationship, organizational learning, and innovativeness.

Echinoids were collected at depths of 5-10 m in Munseom, Jeju Island by SCUBA diving on November 23, 2008 and September 15, 2009. Two specimens were identified as Echinometra mathaei (Blainville, 1825) based on morphological characteristics and molecular analyses of mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I partial sequences. Echinometra mathaei collected from Korea was redescribed with photographs and was compared with other species from GenBank based on molecular data. Phylogenetic analyses showed that no significant differences were between base sequences of E. mathaei from Korea and that from GenBank. To date, 13 echinoids including this species have been reported from Jeju Island, and 32 echinoids have been recorded in Korea.

Extracting temporal information from documents is becoming more important, because it can be used to various applications such as Question-Answering (QA) systems, Recommendation systems, or Information Retrieval (IR) systems. Most previous studies only focus on English documents, and they are not applicable to the other languages due to the inherent characteristics of languages. In this paper, we propose a new system, named ExoTime, designed to extract temporal information from Korean documents. The ExoTime adopts an external Knowledge Base (KB) in order to achieve better prediction performance, and it also applies a bagging method to the temporal relation prediction. We show that the effectiveness of the proposed approaches by empirical results using Korean TimeBank. The ExoTime system works as a part of ExoBrain that is an artificial intelligent QA system.

Recently, in order to guarantee the quality of the final product from the production line, several equipments able to examine the polymer ingredients' quality are being used. Rheotruder is one of the equipments manufactured to measure the viscosity of the ingredient that is an important factor for the quality of final product. However, Rheotruder has nonlinear characteristics such as time delay which make systematic analysis difficult. In this paper, in order to enhance the performance of Rheotruder, a new scheme is introduced. It incorporates TDNN (Time Delay Neural Network) bank and Elman network to get a right decision on whether the tested ingredient is good or not. Furthermore, the proposed scheme is verified through real test execution.

In fingerprints, singular regions including core or delta points have different directional characteristics from non-singular regions. Generally, the ridges of singular regions change more abruptly than those of nonsingular areas, thus in order to effectively enhance fingerprint images regardless of region, local ridge curvature information needs to be used. In this paper, we present an improved Directional Filter Bank (DFB)-based fingerprint image enhancement method that effectively takes advantage of such ridge curvature information. The proposed method first decomposes a fingerprint image into 8 directional subbands using the DFB and then classifies the image into background, low curvature, and high curvature regions using the directional energy estimates calculated from the subbands. Thereafter, the weight values for directional subband processing are determined using classification information and directional energy estimates. Finally, the enhanced image is obtained by synthesizing the processed subbands. The experimental results show that the proposed approach is effective in enhancing both singular and non-singular regions.

본 논문에서는 금융업무를 위한 오손 지폐 분류 시스템을 구현하였다. 제안한 시스템은 새 돈이 헌 돈으로 변화함에 따라 변하는 과정을 모델화하고 그 특징을 획득하기 위하여 감지센서들을 선택하였다. 센서들로부터 얻어진 데이터에서 4개의 특징벡터를 추출하고, 주성분해석을 통해 구해진 최대 고유벡터만을 이용하여 오손 지폐를 분류한다. 새 돈 또는 헌 돈으로 분류하는 기준 레벨은 사용자에 의해 결정된다. 실험결과에서 제안한 시스템은 초당 8매의 지폐 분류속도와 96%의 분류율을 가지는 신뢰성 있는 시스템임을 보여준다.

본 연구에서는 CART(Classification and Regression Tree)가 예측을 함에 있어 통계적인 기법인 discriminant analysis와 비교된다. 은행 데이터를 사용하는 경우 discriminant analysis가 더 나은 성능을 보여줬으며, 보험 회사 데이터를 사용한 경 우 CART가 더 나은 성능을 보여줬다. 이러한 모순된 결과가 데이터의 성격을 분석함 으로 해석된다. 본 연구에서는 두가지 모델 모두 사용된 매개변수들인 사전 확률, 데 이터, 타입 I/II오류 코스트, 검증 방법에 의해 성능의 차이를 보여줬다.

An experimental study was conducted to investigate the fouling effects of geothermal water scale deposited onto a heating surface upon its forced convection heat transfer characteristics. Scales deposited onto the heating surfaces of heat exchangers seriously reduce the heat transfer perfor-mance and also increase the hydrodynamic drag. Accordingly fouling is an important problem in the design and operation of heat exchangers. The cylinders were settled in tandem with equal dis-tance between neighbouring cylinders and only the test cylinder was heated under the condition of constant heat flux. The Reynolds number was varied from 13000310 through 50003100. It is found that the heat transfer of the in-line tube banks greatly varies with the fouling of geothermal water scale especially its scale height. Further the local and average Nusselt numbers strongly depend upon the cylinder spacing and the Reynolds number.

For the successful design of heat exchangers, it is very important to understand local heat transfer characteristics on the circular cylinder of the cross flow heat exchangers. In this study, the heat exchanger using screen is developed to enhance heat transfer. The naphthalene sublimation technique is employed to measure the local heat transfer coefficients in the heat exchanger. The experiments are performed for single circular tube, in-line array tube bank with and without heat transfer promoter. Local Nusselt numbers of single circular tube and tube bank with heat transfer promoter are investigated and compared to those of without heat transfer promoter.

Modern cities are weak in traditional culture with the lack of characteristics and the problem of environmental deterioration. As the important carrier of urban culture, landscape architecture should be responsible for solving these problems. The urban need is paid much attention in the design of South Bank Linear Park in Meizhou city. Following the principle of inheriting and developing urban traditional culture, the design of the whole park is integrated with Hakka culture in Meizhou, which forms the landscape with local features and modern landscape architecture culture, and promotes the urban culture construction.
