Hyperspectral images have shown a great potential for the applications in resource management, agriculture, mineral exploration and environmental monitoring. However, due to the large volume of data, processing of hyperspectral images faces some difficulties. This paper introduces the development of an image processing tool (HYVIEW) that is particularly designed for handling hyperspectral image data. Current version of HYVIEW is dealing with efficient algorithms for displaying hyperspectral images, selecting bands to create color composites, and atmospheric correction. Three band-selection schemes for producing color composites are available based on three most popular indexes of OIF, SI and CI. HYVIEW can effectively demonstrate the differences in the results of the three schemes. For the atmospheric correction, HYVIEW utilizes a pre-calculated LUT by which the complex process of correcting atmospheric effects can be performed fast and efficiently.
This paper introduces how to adopt the X-12-ARIMA to decompose the railway passenger demand of the Korea National Railroad Especially, selecting on proper filters is focused. The trend filter is identical to the low pass filter in the signal Processing field, and so the seasonal filter is to band pass filter too. Some considerations, selecting a filter, are provided from the view-point of the spectrum analysis. The technique introduced in this paper will be adopted to the project that is to develope the forecasting system of Korea railway passenger demand which is a part of the high speed rail information system.
This paper proposes a novel circuit configuration realizing biquadratic voltage transfer functions using three CCIIs and six passive elements. The circuits realize high-pass, band-pass, low-pass, band-stop and all-pass functions by selecting input voltages. The circuit has low passive sensitivities and permits orthogonal adjustment of quality factor Q and cutoff angular frequency $\omega$$\sub$o/. The effects of non-ideal CCIIs on biquadratic transfer functions are also given.
A RF front-end module is designed for GIS(Gas Insulated Substation) which is employed for effective and efficient very high voltage transmission. Major advantage of the unit is improved PO detection sensitivity through minimizing the effect of surrounding interference signals, which is achieved by controlling the gain and the selection of the frequency band, for the precise detection of any UHF PO (Partial Discharge) disturbance occurred in the GIS due to some unwanted problems. For the development of the module, various switches for providing selected signal paths, wideband LNA, 3 BPF for selecting detection frequency band, and video detector are designed, fabricated and measured on 1 mm FR4 substrate with various RF components. The detection sensitivity of the unit was <-60 dBm that is sufficient to detect UHF PO signals as low as 1 pC. It is believed that the value is enough to detect the signal occurred in GIS.

Among 242 Hyperion bands, there are 46 bands that contain completely no information and some other bands with various kinds of noise. It is mainly due to the atmosphenc absorption and the low signal-to-noise ratio. The visual inspection for selecting clean and stable bands is a simple practice, but is a manual, inefficient, and subjective Process. Though uncalibrated, overlapping, and all deep water absorption bands are removed, there still exist noisy bands. In this paper, we propose that the extrema ratio be measured for noise estimation and the unsupervised band selection be performed using the Expectation-Maximization algorithm. The Hyperion data were classified into 5 categories according to the image quality by visual inspection, and used as the reference data. The accuracy of the proposed method was compared with signal-to-noise ranking and entropy ranking. As a result, the proposed mettled was effective as preprocessing step for band selection.

Spurred by the constant pressure to achieve miniaturization, researchers have designed many different types of compact antennas. One such type is the slotted patch antenna used for dual band operation. In this paper, we propose a novel method of selecting the feeding point of the antenna, which results in superior antenna performance in terms of return loss. Computer simulations verify the validity of the proposed method.
It is anticipated that quality assurance for the Ka band Communication Payload System(COPS) development program of the communication, Ocean & Meteorological Satellite(COMS) may be a core technical factor to be concerned in order to avoid any failure, and to assure its final performance during the mission lifetime in space. Those can be managed and verified and assessed by performing the Quality Assurance (QA) and risk management which helps to prevent and to reduce the critical fails. This paper introduces the Product Assurance (PA) system and procedures for controlling and monitoring sub-contractors which were participated in Ka band Communication Payload System (COPS) development. Also this paper shows Quality Assurance (QA) procedures and detailed their processes for assured the product performed by local companies from site survey for selecting companies to delivery of their equipment.

In multivariate analysis, absorbance spectrum is measured over a band of wavelengths. One does not often pay attention to the size of this wavelength band. However, it is desirable that spectrum is measured at only necessary wavelengths as long as the acceptable accuracy of prediction can be met. In this paper, the method of selecting an optimal band of wavelengths based on the loading vector analysis was proposed and applied for determining total protein in human serum using near-infrared transmission spectroscopy and PLSR. Loading vectors in the full spectrum PLSR were used as reference in selecting wavelengths, but only the first loading vector was used since it explains the spectrum best. Absorbance spectra of sera from 97 outpatients were measured at 1530∼1850 nm with an interval of 2 nm. Total protein concentrations of sera were ranged from 5.1 to 7.7 g/㎗. Spectra were measured by Cary 5E spectrophotometer (Varian, Australia). Serum in the 5 mm-pathlength cuvette was put in the sample beam and air in the reference beam. Full spectrum PLSR was applied to determine total protein from sera. Next, the wavelength region of 1672∼1754 nm was selected based on the first loading vector analysis. Standard Error of Cross Validation (SECV) of full spectrum (1530∼l850 nm) PLSR and selected wavelength PLSR (1672∼1754 nm) was respectively 0.28 and 0.27 g/㎗. The prediction accuracy between the two bands was equal. Wavelength selection based on loading vector in PLSR seemed to be simple and robust in comparison to other methods based on correlation plot, regression vector and genetic algorithm. As a reference of wavelength selection for PLSR, the loading vector has the advantage over the correlation plot since the former is based on multivariate model whereas the latter, on univariate model. Wavelength selection by the first loading vector analysis requires shorter computation time than that by genetic algorithm and needs not smoothing.

In modern electronic warfare, a variety of devices are being operated in the fields for the purposes of communication and surveillance. Therefore, if such devices work in the same band, interference may occur and affect each other. Regarding L-band in which various devices including radar systems are operating, interference from existing devices may affect new ones in the band. In this paper, we estimate a probability distribution of the interference environment in L-band from the selected measurement data, which is fundamental for the mathematical analysis. After selecting the candidates of probability distribution, we suggest the best one from the group. The results of this study are expected to be utilized as fundamental data for the mathematical approach to the L-band interference environment.
This paper described the effect of subjective approach in case of the human sensibility experiments. The procedure is proceeded subjectively. Human faces are selected as the image presentation media. Pleasant and unpleasant images are selected directly by examiner, And also the image presentation system, which is executed with a computer and has the square-type black box monitor equipment, is manufactured. Images are presented with the step-variation time interval technique. questionnaire test and EEG signal detection data are analyzed. The analysis parameters are a “frequency band integral value” and a “band differential variation ratio”. he results show the high sensibility and fast response. The fact that image presenting repetition alleviates is verified.
