  • The purpose of this study is to investigate 1) the level of the city housewives' sense and behavior of wedding and ancestral service according to the background variables, 2) the relationship of the sense of wedding and ancestral service and behavior, and 3) what the most influential factors are. For the purpose of this study, 700 questionnaire were distributed to the housewives who live in Seoul and collected during the February 1989. And the measuring instruments are composed of 9 questions, 11 questions of the sense of wedding service, 12 questions of the sense of ancestral service, 11 questions of the behavior of wedding service, and 12 questions of the behavior of ancestral service. To obtain the sense and behavior of wedding and ancestral service scale, item analysis through Pearon's correlation and factor analysis, frequency distribution, percentile, mean, standard deviation, t-test, F-test, Pearson's γ, Paired-t-test, Duncan's Multiple Range Test, and Stepwise multiple Regression were used for data analysis. The major fidnigs are as follows: 1. The general tendency of the city housewives' sense of wedding service was modern. That of the city housewives' sense of ancestral service was the mid level of the traditional and the modern. According to background variable (ie: age, educational level, the number of children, the duration of marriage, religion, the existence of job, the existence of married son and daughter), the city housewives' sense of wedding service is different significantly. Accoring to background variable(ie: age, educational level, the average home income a month, the number of children, the duration of marriage, religion, the existence of married son and daughter), the city housewives' sense of ancestral service is different significantly. 2. The general tendency of the city housewives' behavior of wedding service was modern. That of the city housewives' behavior of ancestral service was somewhat modern. According to background variable(ie: age, educational level, the number of children, the duration of marriage, the existence of married son and daughter, the form of family), the city housewives' behavior of wedding service is different significantly. According to background variable(ie" age, educational level, the number of children, the duration of marriage, religion, the existence of job, the existence of married son and daughter), the city housewives' behavior of ancestral service is different significantly. 3. There were positive correlation between the city housewive' sense and behavior of wedding and ancestral service(P<.001). And the housewives' sense of wedding service was modernized than that of ancestral service, the housewives' behavior of ancestral service was modernized than that of wedding service. 4. The city housewives' sense of wedding service was the duration of marriage(β=-.226), influential factor. And influential factors on that of ancestral service were educational level(β=.250), the existence of married son and daughter(β=-.123), number of children(β=-.101). • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of the level of background knowledge and the metacognition supporting tool (MST) on the learning activities and outcomes in a web problem based learning environment from the theoretical perspectives of PBL (problem-based-learning) in the Web and metacognition. Results suggest that the level of learners' background knowledge could play a slight role in problem oriented learning activities. This was because learning tasks were characterized by ill-structured problems in Web-based problem learning and this sort of learning might have been a somewhat newer experience for the selected students. Providing MST for learners' PBL activities, however, was highly beneficial for learners who practice PBL in Web based learning environments. In addition, for PBL outcomes, variables like problem solution reporting documents. the use of MST had a more positive effect on the lower level learners' background knowledge than the higher level learners'.

  • It is very difficult to reduce ambient noise level in the downtown. The best method is to improve the sound amenity of the districts, considering concept of soundscape. This study aims to survey the effect of introducing sound and masking to reduce the background noise level. We carried out the evaluating test for 18 introducing sounds varied S/N ratio(-5, 0, +5) in the city riverside. In these test, subjects evaluated the sound environment with five bipolar adjective scales. It was evaluated that introducing sounds improved the sound environment, and that S/N +5 dB was very appropriate to mask the background noise. But the hearing level was suggested to be S/N 0 dB or less.

  • Social survey and auditory experiment on residential noises such as floor impact, air-bome, bathroom, drainage and traffic noises were conducted to investigate the effects of sensitivity and background noise levels on subjective response to residential noises. Results of survey showed that multiple questions for sensitivity to noise have a more power for discrimination against subjective response to noise than single question. It was also found that the correlation between sensitivity and annoyance was relatively low, but the differences in annoyance between sensitivity groups were significant. Result of auditory experiment showed that effects of sensitivity on annoyance were different according to noise type and noise level. It was also shown that the difference in annoyance between the lowest sensitive stoup and the highest sensitive group was significant in low noise level. The effects of background noise on subjective responses to noise was also different according to noise source and noise level, and were significant in low noise level of airborne and drainage noise.

  • This study examined how child care teachers' background characteristics, self-efficacy and job stress relate to their job satisfaction. Participants were 400 child care teachers in Seoul and Gyeonggi, Korea. Structural equation models were developed based on the authors' hypothesized model, which proposed that teachers' self-efficacy and job stress have a mediating effect in the relationship between teachers' background characteristics and job satisfaction. The results revealed that career directly influenced on self-efficacy and job stress but had no direct effect on job satisfaction. Education level was found to have a direct effect on job stress but had no direct effect on self-efficacy and job satisfaction. Teachers' self-efficacy affected job stress and job satisfaction and job stress affected job satisfaction. Furthermore, self-efficacy mediated the effects of career on job stress and job satisfaction. Additionally, job stress mediated the effects of education level and self-efficacy on job satisfaction. These results suggested that teachers' self-efficacy and job stress were key predictors and mediating variables in the relationship between background characteristics and job satisfaction.

  • The goal of this research is to examine the recent decade-long (2000~2014) trends of national background concentrations over China, Japan, and Korea. Based on the Long-range Transboundary Air Pollutants in Northeast Asia (LTP) project, which is three-party collaboration project among three countries, we investigated the long-term trends of national background $PM_{10}$ concentrations in three countries over the recent 15 years, including the 2008 Beijing Olympic Game period. In accordance with the agreement among three countries, a total of 8 national background sites: three national background monitoring sites in China (2 sites in Dalian, and 1 in Xiamen), three sites in Korea (Ganghwa, Gosan, and Taean), and two sites in Japan (Oki and Rishiri), were chosen for the trend analysis. The results showed that Chinese background concentration recorded the highest level overall. However, the rapid declining recent trends of annual median ($50^{th}$-percentile) values were surprisingly detected since 2006 or 2007 in every site in China, with the most rapidly decreasing rate (- $18.6{\pm}10.3%$/year) over 2006~2007, and the second most rapidly decreasing rate (- $18.0{\pm}1.5%$/year) over 2007~2008. Based on the previous statistical literature, we concluded that this declining trends were due to the emission reduction of $PM_{10}$ concentrations in China for 2008 Beijing Olympic Game. In Korea, Ganghwa was also showing the decreasing trends over the recent years since 2006, which is also well accorded with the decreasing period of Chinese background concentrations. Taean also implied some impact of Beijing Olympic Game, showing small but detectable decreasing trends, while Gosan showed the increasing tendencies probably due to the near-urban influences. However, since 2012, most sites in both China and Korea showed strong increasing trends, undoubtedly implying the increasement of both emission in China and its long-range transport process toward Korea. Two sites in Japan, Oki and Rishiri recorded the lowest level of $PM_{10}$ level during whole period with the smallest deviations of measurements. Other discussions including the decade-long trends of $5^{th}$, $10^{th}$, $25^{th}$, $50^{th}$, $75^{th}$, $90^{th}$, $95^{th}$-percentiles of $PM_{10}$ background concentrations in three countries were also comparatively addressed here.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between clothing behaviors, background and popularity for a group of junior-high school girls in seoul, Korea. background : father's education, type of housing and economic level. popularity : Sociometric test. For statistical analyses of the data from 446 respondents, F-test, t-test, $x^2$-test, M. and S.D. were used. The findings were as follows : 1. (1) Father's education correlated significantly with $\ulcorner$Awareness$\lrcorner$at p<.05, and with $\ulcorner$satisfaction$\lrcorner$ at P<.005. (2) Type of housing correlated significantly with $\ulcorner$conformity$\lrcorner$-at p<.005, and with significantly $\ulcorner$satisfaction$\lrcorner$ at p<.01. (3) Economic level correlated significantly $\ulcorner$conformity$\lrcorner$ at p<.05, and with significantly $\ulcorner$satisfaction$\lrcorner$ at p<.005. 2. A significantly positive relationship was found between popularity and background. The higher the economic level and father's education are, the more popular are they- in their classroom. They also were found to have their own houses. On the contrary, the less the economic level and father's education are, the less popular are they in their classroom. They, in most cases, live in rent houses. 3. A positive relationship was not found between popularity and clothing behaviors.
