  • In general, turbine blades are usually machined on 5-axis NC machine. The 5-axis machining of sculptured surface offers many advantages over 3-axis machining including the faster material-removal rates and an improved surface finish. But it is difficult and time-consuming to generated interference-free 5-axis tool path. This paper describes research on the algorithm for generation of an interference-free 5-axis NC data for machining turbine blades. The approach, using the section profile derived from the intersection of cutting planes with a triangulated-surface approximation, includes (1) CL-data generation by detecting an interference-free heel angle (2) the calculation method for finding a adaptive feed-rate value, and (3) the inverse kinematics depending on the structure of 5-axis machine.

  • Recently, the development of aerospace and automobile industries brought new technological challenges, related to the growing complexity of products and new geometry models. High speed machining using 5-Axis milling machine is widely used for 3D sculptured surface parts. 5-axis milling of turbine blade generates the vibration, deflection and twisting caused from thin and cantilever shape. So, the surface roughness and the waviness of workpiece are not good. In this paper, The effects of cutter orientation and lead/tilt angle in 5-Axis high speed ball end-milling of turbine blade were investigated to improve the geometric accuracy and surface integrity. The experiments were performed at lead/tilt angle $15^{\circ}$ of workpiece with four cutter directions such as horizontal outward, horizontal inward, vertical outward, and vertical inward. Workpiece deflection, surface roughness and machined surface were measured with various cutter orientations such as cutting direction, and lead/tilt angle. The results show that when 5-axis machining of turbine blade, the best cutting strategy is horizontal inward direction with tilt angle. 피터아이젠만 건축의 실내 공간에 사용된 축에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Axis Used for Interior Spaces of Peter Eisenman Architecture)

  • This Study is about the Axis used for creating forms of interior spaces in representative works of Peter Eisenman architecture. The plans, elevations, photos of interior spaces of his architecture were collected and analysed. In conclusion, the methods using axises were classified in the axises crossing right angle and the rotating axises crossing right angle. The rotating axis were divided into one-angle rotating and multi-angle rotating. The axises were rotated on the plan or rotated on the elevation. The axises crossing right angle were used for dividing, assembling, transforming and composing different proportions of rectangles in interior spaces. The rotating axises crossing right angle were used for creating divers forms such as triangle, quadrilateral, and polygon. The one-angle rotating emphasizes directions of axises in interior spaces. The multi-angle rotating emphasizes decentered directions in interior spaces. The parts created while crossing axises three-dimensionally were opened or filled. The axises were used dynamically and three-dimensionally for diversity of forms in interior spaces of Peter Eisenman architecture.

A Calibration Technique for a Two-Axis Magnetic Compass in Telematics Devices

  • This paper presents an efficient algorithm for using the two-axis magnetic compass in portable devices. The general magnetic compass module consists of a three-axis magnetic compass and a two-axis inclinometer to calculate tilt-compensated azimuth information. In this paper, the tilt error is compensated using just a two-axis magnetic compass and two-axis accelerometer. The third-axis data of the magnetic compass is estimated using coordinate information that includes the extended dip angle and tilt information. The extended dip angle is estimated during the normalization process. This algorithm can be used to provide the tilt-compensated heading information to small portable devices such as navigation systems, PDAs, cell phones, and so on.

  • 저자는 경북대학교 치과대학 학생중 악관절의 기능장애의 병력 및 현증이 없고 안모가 단정한 정상인 56명을 대상으로 시상정중면에서 양측의 하악우각부사이의 각도와 하악과두장축의 수평경사도를 계측하여 통계학적으로 분석한 바 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 시상정중면에서 하악우각부 사이의 각도는 우측이 18.50±1.48°, 좌측이 19.30±1.55°였다. 2. 하악과두장축의 수평경사도는 우측이 19.25±7.56°, 좌측이 20.27±7.05°였다. 3. 두 각도간의 관계는 우측의 경우 y=20. 31-0.0094×(r=-0 482, p<0.01), 좌측의 경우 y=20.64-0.066×(r=-0.301, p<0.05)인 것으로 나타났다(y : 하악과두장축의 수평경사도, x : 시상정중면에서 하악우각부 사이의 각도).

  • In general, recent critical studies of five-axis machine have tended to center on the question of effective machining to realize complex shape parts. However, the hydrostatic bearing and journal bearing, both of which are involved in the complex process of dividing the processing of internal precision-shape machining, must be optimized. Although the angle head is designed to machine the internal shape as it approaches the inner diameter of the work piece, research on the angle head in five-axis machining has received only minimal attention in domestic industries. In this study, an angle head which is optimized for effective internal shape machining is developed. In pursuit of this purpose, 3D and 2D designs of the angle head for five-axis machining are devised. Reliability is secured through static performance tests and machining accuracy evaluations of the angle head in keeping with the machining accuracy standard of 0.2mm for hydrostatic bearings.

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to find out the factors affecting the cervical angle with kyphosis. Methods : We investigated 340 cases of patients who had cervical kyphosis. We used cervical angle, flexion malposition angle, odontoid process cline angle, axis-atlas cline angle, odontoid process-atlas cline angle and occiput-atlas cline angle. Correlations between cervical angle and flexion malposition angle, odontoid process cline angle, axis-atlas cline angle, odontoid process-atlas cline angle, occiput-atlas cline angle were analyzed by pearson correlation analysis. Results : The correlation between cervical angle and flexion malposition angle was p-value 0.007, and odontoid process cline angle was p-value 0.002, and axis-atlas cline angle was p-value 0.000, and odontoid process-atlas cline angle was p-value 0.000, and occiput-atlas cline angle was p-value 0.012. Conclusions : Flexion malposition angle, odontoid process cline angle are inversely proportional to cervical angle. And correlation is statistically significant(p<0.01). Axis-atlas cline angle, odontoid process-atlas cline angle are proportional to cervical angle. And correlation is statistically significant(p<0.01). Occiput-atlas cline angle is proportional to cervical angle. And correlation is statistically significant(p<0.05).

Workpiece deflection, surface roughness and the machined surface were all measured with various cutter orientations such as cutting directions, and lead/tilt angle. The results show that the best cutting strategy for machining turbine blades with a 5-axis milling is horizontal inward direction with a tilt angle.

  • Currently, 6-axis articulated robots are used throughout the industry because of their 6-dof (degrees of freedom) and usability. However, 6-axis articulated robots have a fixed base and their movements are limited by the rotational operating range of each axis. If the angle of the 2-axis additional axes can be adjusted according to the position and orientation of the end-effector of the 6-axis articulated robot, the effectiveness of the 6-axis articulated robot can be further increased in areas where the angle is important, such as welding. Therefore, in this paper, we proposed a cooperative kinematic inter-operation strategy. The strategy will be verified using the Simulink of MATLABⓇ, an engineering program, and RecurdynⓇ, a dynamic simulation program.

  • 능동 합성개구레이더 위성의 주요기동은 SAR 안테나 방향을 바꾸기 위한 롤축 기동이다. 그리고 도플러 중심주파수 변화를 최소화하기 위하여 요축 기동이 요구된다. 따라서 토크/모멘텀 용량을 대부분 롤축으로 그 다음으로 요축으로 할당하는 것이 합리적이다. 하지만 궤도 조정 때문에 가끔씩 피치축으로 중심으로 큰 각도의 회전이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 롤축과 요축의 연속회전을 통한 피치축 기동시간 단축 방법에 대해서 살펴본다. 이들 두 축이 피치축에 비해서 기동성능이 좋기 때문에, 피치축을 중심으로 큰 회전이 요구될 때는 기동시간 단축이 가능하다.
