Generally speaking, weapon system is defined as a combination of primary system and support system which are evaluated by capability and operational availability respectively. Recently comparison of total life cycle cost shows that logistic support system is proved to be more important than primary system. However, until now systematic approach to support system development has not been applied in the area of developing support system. We need to construct a universal metric for effectiveness of logistic support system and to cut out whatever activities or support elements which do not contribute to the metric. This paper describes a new approach based on system engineering approach to logistic support system and also classifies five factors of failure, stock-out frequency, administrative delay time, active repair time and logistic delay time that have influence on operational availability of logistic support system.
Much research has focused on the conflict and balance between work and family. Yet few studies examine how women feel in balancing these two roles. In that regard, this study examines how married working women feel balanced between work and family as well as the levels of support availability/demand that exists. The level of sense of balance regarding work-family is average. Sense of balance is related to age, income, work hours, size of workplace, numbers of family friendly policies, the family's attitude to woman's work, and the level of balancing strategies used. The demand for support is higher than the availability of support. Both factors are related to working hours and balancing strategies, etc.

Weapon system is defined as a combination of primary system and logistics support system which are evaluated by capability and operational availability respectively. Weapon system developer thought that primary system was weapon system and also only primary system was important. Recent comparison of total life cycle cost showed that logistics support system was proved to be more important than primary system. However, until now no systematic approach to logistics support system development have applied in the area of developing support system and much money was exhausted by wrong logistics support system. We need to construct a universal metric for effectiveness of logistics support system and to cut out whatever activities or support elements which do not contribute to the metrics. This study describes a new approach under the name function approach to logistics support system development and also classifies five factors of failure frequency, stock out of frequency, administrative delay time, active repair time and logistic delay time that have influence on operational availability of logistics support system.
Purpose: Maintaining appropriate operational availability (Ao) is a key element of combat victory, but estimates vary according to estimation methods. The purpose of this study is to improve the accuracy of estimating operational availability by tracing the changes of the weapon system's failure rate, repair rate, and the level of logistic support. Methods: In order to track the change in the operating availability, the MDT (mean down time) is modeled by adding the repair time and the ALDT (administration and logistic delay time) to the service time. Results: Using the field data of the weapon system A operated by the ROKAF, the failure rate follows a non-homogeneous Poisson process that changes with time, and it is modeled considering the changing repair rate and the logistic support time. Conclusion: The accuracy of the analytical results was verified by comparing the actual operating data with the estimated availability. The results of this study can be used to track and evaluate the availability in a realistic situation where the failure rate and maintenance rate continuously change in operating environment.

The effects on system availability, operation, and support costs were analyzed using the M&S system (MPS). The failure frequency items of current armored vehicles were identified and the MTBF of the identified items was improved. The results of this study suggest that when we reduce the frequency of failure, the availability increases, and the operation and support costs decrease. By improving the reliability of the failure frequency items, it becomes possible to upgrade or develop the weapons systems. Through this study, we confirmed that improving reliability will enhance combat readiness and reduce operation and support costs.

It is important to increase the probability that all developed weapon systems can be operated in a steady state at any time. In the case of Integrated Logistics Support, this probability is referred to as operational availability, and the numerical value is quantified during the development process. There are several ways to improve operational availability for successful development of weapon systems. One of the methods is to reduce total corrective maintenance time through Automatic Test Equipment(ATE). Recently, customers in the defense market have become aware of this and demand ways to improve operational availability of weapon systems. Therefore, this paper proposes ways to improve operational availability of weapon systems by changing the method of operating the ATE. The detailed method is to allow field maintenance personnel to carry out field maintenance support onsite. This is an effective way to reduce the total corrective maintenance time of weapon systems by reducing the travel time of field maintenance personnel. The proposed ATE is proved to be able to achieve superior maintenance and operational availability.
A case-control study was conducted in order to examine dietary behavioral factors associated with colorectal cancer risks. Data were collected from 128 cases with either colorectal cancer or large bowl adenomatous polyps and 129 controls regarding stages of dietary behavioral change, perceived barrier, self efficacy, nutrition knowledge, social support and food availability as well as body mass index and overall dietary quality. Cases showed less desirable behaviors with respect to fat reduction and vegetable intake compared with controls based on the analyses of the stages of dietary change. After adjustment of relevant covariates (age, gender and smoking), significant trends of increasing risk with higher level emerged for perceived barriers resulted from environmental conditions (OR = 1.6 - 2.0) and self-efficacy (OR = 2.2-2.3). No such relationships were found for nutrition knowledge and social support. The risk of colorectal cancer was associated with the kinds of foods available at home showing a borderline protective relation with milk (OR = 0.6) and respective significant and borderline direct associations for fresh meat (OR = 2.1) and soft drinks (OR = 0.6 when reversely scored). Within-group analyses presented best predictors of overall dietary quality as food availability for the case and self-efficacy and social support for the control. The findings of this study suggested a need for focusing on motivational and reinforcing factors in the development of nutrition education programs for colorectal cancer prevention.

There have been growing demand of Light Rail Transit(LRT) which have a lot of advantages such as construction costs lower than the recent subway, reduction of operational costs, availability of line planning, operation of railway non-beneficiary region, flexible operations of trains, unmanned operation and also have eco-friendly advantages, it is now becoming urban railway systems when environmental issues have been highlighted all over the world. Therefore, RAMS(Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety) Process and activities for effective implementation of light rail transit projects have become a very important element, and also the utilization of computerized tools to perform these more systematically and productively is sought after these days. In this paper, we have presented a plan that can support the RAMS activities by utilizing the function of the computerized SE(Systems Engineering) tool(CORE$^{(R)}$). Through support of the computerized SE tool, it would be possible more clear and efficient railway project execution.

This paper studies the impact of the maintenance time of anti-ship missile Harpoon on operational availability with real field data. The Harpoon maintenance simulation model is developed as a testbed for identifying the optimal inventory levels on operational availability. Using multiple linear regression analysis and integer programming, the optimal inventory levels of essential assemblies are suggested. Finally, the result of sensitivity analysis shows the quantitative impact of maintenance time on operational availability and inventory costs. The authors believe that this quantitative analysis can support policy decisions to decrease maintenance time of missiles.
This study investigated what factors influenced the willingness to work( or start-up) of the self-support program participants. And the hypothesis is that the willingness to work of the self-support program participants would be different according to their duration of program participation. The Survey was conducted participants in 11 local self-support center of Incheon Metropolitan city in the year 2013 and 2016. And it has been analyzed the factors affecting the willingness to work of long-term and short-term participants. The results of this study are as follows. First, the factors affecting all participants's willingness to work ( or start-up) were gender, educational background, experience of employment or start-up, availability of self-support allowance, familiarity with local self-support center's staff, attitude toward work, period of self-support subject participated. Second, long-term participants were affected by disability, educational background, experience of employment or start-up, and availability of self-support allowance. Finally, in the case of short-term participants, it was found that educational background, experience of employment and start-up, availability of self-support allowance, family intimacy and intimacy with local self-support center's staff were influenced.
