  • For the safty driving of an automobile which is become individual requisites, a new Neural Network algorithm which recognized the load vehicles in real time is proposed. The proposed neural network technique is the real time computation method through the inter-node diffusion. In the network, a node corresponds to a state in the quantized input space. Each node is composed of a processing unit and fixed weights from its neighbor nodes as well as its input terminal. The most reliable algorithm derived for real time recognition of vehicles, is a dynamic programming based algorithm based on sequence matching techniques that would process the data as it arrives and could therefore provide continuously updated neighbor information estimates. Through several simulation experiments, real time reconstruction of the nonlinear image information is processed 1-D LIPN hardware has been composed and various experiments with static and dynamic signals have been implmented.

  • Hard turning on modern lathes becomes a realistic replacement for many grinding applications. Because CBN tools are expensive, excessive tool wear can eliminate economic advantages of hard turning. This paper describes a study of investigating the cutting force and the characteristics of tool wear in hard turning of hardened steels, AISI 52100. Cutting forces generated using CBN tools have been evaluated. The radial thrust cutting force was the largest among three cutting force components. It increased dramatically as a result of progressive tool wear. On the other hand, the result shows significantly different wear characteristics between high CBN and low CBN. Backpropagation neural network was used for the estimation of tool wear. The networks were achieved the reliability of 96.3% even when the spindle speed and feed rate are changed.

  • To improve passenger convenience and safety, today's vehicle is evolving into a "connected vehicle," which mounts various sensors, electronic control devices, and wired/wireless communication devices. However, as the number of connections to external networks via the various electronic devices of connected vehicles increases and the internal structures of vehicles become more complex, there is an increasing chance of encountering issues such as malfunctions due to various functional defects and hacking. Recalls and indemnifications due to such hacking or defects, which may occur as vehicles evolve into connected vehicles, are becoming a new risk for automakers, causing devastating financial losses. Therefore, automakers need to make voluntary efforts to comply with security ethics and strengthen their responsibilities. In this study, we investigated potential security issues that may occur under a connected vehicle environment (vehicle-to-vehicle, vehicle-to-infrastructure, and internal communication). Furthermore, we analyzed several case studies related to automaker's legal risks and responsibilities and identified the security requirements and necessary roles to be played by each player in the automobile development process (design, manufacturing, sales, and post-sales management) to enhance their responsibility, along with measures to manage their legal risks.

  • The magnitude of wear should be at a minimum for numerous automobile and aeronautical components. In the current work, composites were prepared by varying the cenosphere content using the conventional stir casting method. A uniform distribution of particles was ensured with the help of scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Three major parameters were chosen from various factors that affect the wear. A wear test was conducted with a pin-on-disc apparatus; the controlling parameters were volume percentages of reinforcement of 5, 10, 15, and 20%, applied loads of 9.8, 29.42, and 49.03 N, and sliding speeds of 1.26, 2.51, and 3.77 m/s. The design of the experiments (DOE) was performed by varying the different influencing parameters using the full factorial method. An analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to analyze the effects of the parameters on the wear rate. Using regression analysis, a response curve was obtained based on the experimental results. The parameters in the resulting curve were optimized using the Genetic Algorithm (GA). The GA results were compared with those of an alternate efficient algorithm called Neural Networks (NNs).

  • Advancements in automobile industries and the communication technologies caused VANET (Vehicular Ad Hoc NETwork) to evolve to VANET-based clouds before its deployment. It is more likely that VANET clouds will replace the traditional VANET in the deployment phase. It is to be noted that an abrupt deployment is out of question because it would require mass of resources and money to do so; instead incremental deployment is more ideal. In this paper, we aim at the incremental deployment phase of VANET clouds and focus on the well-established public transport networks. Data aggregation is one of the essential aspects in traditional VANET and has been researched for quite long time. However the previously proposed schemes are still controversial. Keeping in mind the time and space prediction of public buses, we leverage these buses as potential aggregators and MG (Mobile Gateways) in VANET clouds. Buses gather cooperative whereabouts information from neighbors, aggregate that information, disseminate it to the neighbor MGs and also send it to the cloud for storage and for services exchange. In our proposed scheme, we believe that the dissemination will be effective and cover most of the urban area since at any instant of time; buses cover most part of the urban areas. Besides, the effective transmission range is higher due to tall buses.

  • This study analyzes patents related to oil diagnosis of construction equipment. Oil diagnosis is extremely important for maintaining construction equipment properly. Through the evaluation of existing patents, a patent strategy for the future construction equipment market is presented. The related patents are classified and selected in several steps. Finally, 16 valid patents are selected and analyzed in detail. In the classification process, patents are classified by country, year, and company. A market analysis shows that the top 10 companies have a market share of more than 50. In addition to patents related to the oil analysis of construction equipment, patents related to automobile oil analysis and development of oil sensors are investigated to identify the contents of patents in other fields that can be applied to oil diagnosis technology for construction equipment. Moreover, not only the contents of research articles of two Korean construction companies, but also the research trends in the literature in this field are used in the analysis. The related patents of the two Korean companies are few. Companies with a high market share, including Caterpillar, hold many patents, and patents for diagnosis algorithms using such technologies as artificial intelligence and artificial neural networks, along with oil sensor-based condition monitoring technology, are gradually expanding.

  • Intelligent transportation system (ITS) is realized through a highly ephemeral network, i.e. vehicular ad hoc network (VANET) which is on its way towards the deployment stage, thanks to the advancements in the automobile and communication technologies. However, it has not been successful, at least to date, to install the technology in the mass of vehicles due to security and privacy challenges. Besides, the users of such technology do not want to put their privacy at stake as a result of communication with peer vehicles or with the infrastructure. Therefore serious privacy measures should be taken before bringing this technology to the roads. To date, privacy issues in ephemeral networks in general and in VANET in particular, have been dealt with through various approaches. So far, multiple pseudonymous approach is the most prominent approach. However, recently it has been found out that even multiple pseudonyms cannot protect the privacy of the user and profilation is still possible even if different pseudonym is used with every message. Therefore, another privacy-aware mechanism is essential in vehicular networks. In this paper, we propose a novel identity exchange mechanism to preserve conditional privacy of the users in VANET. Users exchange their pseudonyms with neighbors and then use neighbors' pseudonyms in their own messages. To this end, our proposed scheme conditionally preserves the privacy where the senders of the message can be revoked by the authorities in case of any dispute.

  • In the past few years, M2M (Machine-to-Machine) applications have become a hot topic in the wireless industry. While M2M applications can be used for many purposes (smart homes, smart metering/electricity meter reading, fleet management, mobile workforce, automobile insurance, vending machines, etc), and in many sectors (healthcare, agriculture, commercial, industrial, retail, utility, etc.), smart metering applications or smart grids present the biggest growth potential in the M2M market today. M2M platform is the future ubiquitous network technologies which provide the integrated service with the networks and devices. The promising technologies to tackle these problems are the Semantic technologies, for interoperability, and the Agent technologies for management of complex systems. In this paper the information communication technique based on the disaster prevention system's for the M2M, concepts and its requirement technology and application are studied.

  • Generally, the vertical roll process is used to achieve extensive width reduction in hot strip mill. However, it is difficult to avoid the defects such as dog-bone and seam-defect. The sizing press has been developed in response to the defects mentioned above. Especially, this study is carried out to investigate the deformation of slab by two-step sizing press. The deformation behavior in the width sizing process is more favorable than that in conventional vertical rolling edger. The objective of this study is to determine the optimal anvil shape parameters in the sizing press with two-step die from the viewpoint of edge-seam length. In general, the edge-seam defect occurs parallel to the rolling direction at both edges in horizontal rolling process after sizing press. The optimal combination of the parameters is determined by FE-simulation and Artificial Neural Network (ANN). The slab deformation in sizing press with convex anvil is analyzed by FE-simulation. The most suitable profile of the anvil is also discussed fur the improvement of trimming loss because of the side seam defect by FE-simulation and ANN.

  • GSIS is a system that contains spatially referenced data that can be analyzed and converted to information for a specific set of purpose, or application. The key feature of a GSIS is the analysis of data to produce new information. The current emphasis in the transportation is to implement GSIS in conjunction with real time systems Requirements for a transportation GSIS are very different from the traditional GSIS software that has been designed for environmental and natural resource applications. A transportation GSIS may need to include the ability for franc volume, forecasting, pavement management A regional transportation planning model is actually a set of models that are used to inventory and then forecast a region's population, employment, income, housing and the demand of automobile and transit in a region. The data such as adminstration bound, m of landuse, road networks, location of schools, offices with populations are used in this paper. Many of these data are used for analyzing of traffic volume, traffic demand, time of mad construction using GSIS.
