최근에 제품설계, 제조 및 생산관리등의 분야에 컴퓨터의 이용이 급속히 보급되고 있다. 본고에서는 다품종 소량생산에 대한 자동화를 의미하는 새로운 기술용어인 프랙시블 오토메이션(flexible automation)의 개념을 소개하고, 이 개념을 기본해석으로 해서 공장자동화(factory automation, FA)의 방법과 이의 사무자동화(office automation, OA)에 대한 관계를 고찰하였다.

인텔리전트 빌딩(IB : Intelligent Building)이란 용어가 처음 사용된 것은 1984년 1월에 미국의 코네티컷주 하트포트에 건설된 시티 플레이스(City Place) 빌딩에 빌딩 자동화(BA : Building Automation), 사무 자동화(OA : Office automation), 통신(TC : Tele-Communication) 시스템을 구축한 UTBS(United Technologies Building System)사가 빌딩의 특징을 설명하면서부터였다.

The substation automation is a system to remote-monitor and control electric power flow. And in line with electrification of railway, an interest in electric railway substation automation is increasing. IEC standardized IEC 61850, IEC 61968 and IEC 61970 communication protocol for the telecommunication standardization of the electric power automation industry. The recent SCADA systems in managed electric railway substations are have the problem about the compatibility with the products which fit to the international standard specification afterward. In this paper, the model of electric railway substation automation based on IEC 61850 and IEC 61970 is presented. And the method supporting the compatibility between the equipment is proposed.

Recently the idea of a home automation has been an important issue in many publications and home appliances companies. Home automation is a house or living environment that contains the technology to allow devices and systems to be controlled automatically. Remote and local control are useful to keep home comfortable and to support the elderly and the disabled people. In this paper, we discuss possible developments of Bluetooth wireless technologies and describe the hardware for devices and software for the considerations of a home automation system. Finally, we have validated the testbed by simulating in the Bluetooth home network.

We developed the synthetic library automation system. Developed system is comprised of two main units: an auto sorting system of books and a wireless management system. An auto sorting system is composed of a book return machine, a robot system, and an emergency bookshelf. A book return machine is operated by magnetic removal-revival. A wireless management system is development of RFID, or radio frequency identification, and is composed of a RF module and uninhabited return machine and a loss prevention system. The software for the synthetic library automation system is divided into three groups. We realized the developed automation system, and then get the features.

The construction finishing work is emphasized according to high dependence on labor and long term that occupy approximately 40% in construction period, so that it is required for the alternatives such as automation technology. However, it is insufficient to develop the automation technology of construction finishing work compared to other works, for instance, frame work. Also it is not enough about this preliminary research which survey the improvement needs to select the development object. Therefore, this study aimed at derivation of detail works required improvement in ceiling finishing work by the questionnaire survey. These results may provide the basic information to develop the automation technology of construction finishing work.
