  • The purpose of the study was to evaluation of the radiation dose reduction using various automatic exposure control (AEC) systems in different manufactures multi-detector computed tomography (MDCT). We used three different manufacturers for the study: General Electric Healthcare, Philips Medical systems and Siemens Medical Solutions. The general scanning protocol was created for the each examination with the same scanning parameters as many as possible. In the various AEC systems, the evaluation of reduced-dose was evaluated by comparing to fixed mAs with using body phantom. Finally, when we applied to AEC for three manufacturers, the radiation dose reduction decreased each 35.3% in the GE, 58.2% in the Philips, and 48.6% in the Siemens. This applies to variety of the AEC systems which will be very useful to reduce the dose and to maintain the high quality.

  • For the purpose of automatic management and enhancing quality of construction, information technology has been employed in construction field recently. As a consequence, informative construction, which utilizes information technology to reduce construction time and optimize construction sequence, becomes a state-of-art field of construction. Considering this case, construction field should more actively adopt other engineering technologies of rapidly advancing fields, such as electronic, control, and informative engineering, in order to reduce construction cost and to solve environmental problems as well as to enhance construction quality. In this aspect, this paper introduces a novel research field 'Geo-mechatronics', which stands for the convergence of geotechnical engineering and mechatronics (i.e. automation of mechanics using electronic technologies). Since the ground is ubiquitous in every infrastructure construction, the Geo-mechatronics research is crucial for the development of construction technology in the future. Moreover, it is believed to that the Geo-mechatronics research will make our construction industry to be more future-oriented and internationally comparative industry.

  • To analyze building energy consumption, the building description for building energy performance analysis (BEPA) is required. The required data input for subject building is a basic step in the BEPA process. Since building information modeling (BIM) is applied in the construction industry, the required data for BEPA can be gathered from a single international standard file format like IFCXML. However, in most BEPA processes, since the required data cannot be fully used from the IFCXML file, a building description for BEPA must be created again. This paper proposes IFCXML-based automatic data input approach for BEA. After the required data for BEPA has been defined, automatic data input for BEPA is developed by a prototype system. To evaluate the proposed system, a common BIM file from the BuildingSMART website is applied as a sample model. This system can increase the efficiency and reliability of the BEPA process, since the data input is automatically and efficiently improved by directly using the IFCXML file..

  • The objective of this study is to prepare the plans for managing construction noise effectively and solving the popular enmity from construction noise reasonably. In order to carry out this purpose, it covers the efficient improvement plans for adjusting the construction noise regulation standard rationally and managing the automatic noise measuring system which shows the advantage for construction noise management and popular enmity solution due to construction noise. The three alternative plans of the construction noise regulation standard and the recommendation plan including the guideline for installing and managing the automatic noise measuring system are suggested consequently.

  • With the development of IT convergence technology and the construction of master plan for the four rivers restoration of the government, the importance of the eco-friendly water pollution management is being spotlighted. In this paper, we proposed the effective water pollution management using the reservoir tank automatic classification for improving the water quality and on-line managing efforts of ceo-friendly reservoir tanks. The proposed method defined the seven factors of water pollution evaluation and managed the water pollution according to hydrogen ion concentration(pH), chemical oxygen demand(COD), suspend solid(SS), dissolved oxygen(DO), count of coliform group(MPN), total phosphorus(T-P), and total nitrogen(T-N) using the sensors. We measured the values for the seven factors from the reservoir tank and normalized to ranging from 1 to 9. To evaluate the performance of the water pollution management using the reservoir tank automatic classification, we conducted F-measure so as to verify usefulness. This evaluation found that the difference of satisfaction by the traditional system was statistically meaningful.

  • Research on automatic classification of records and documents has been conducted for a long time. Recently, artificial intelligence technology has been developed to combine machine learning and deep learning. In this study, we first looked at the process of automatic classification of documents and learning method of artificial intelligence. We also discussed the necessity of applying artificial intelligence technology to records management using various cases of machine learning, especially supervised methods. And we conducted a test to automatically classify the public records of the Seoul metropolitan government into BRM using ETRI's Exobrain, based on supervised machine learning method. Through this, we have drawn up issues to be considered in each step in records management agencies to automatically classify the records into various classification schemes.

  • This study conducted the research on the method of grouting quality management and the improvement effect by applying grouting construction's quality management technology to automatic injection management equipment through measure of liquefaction based on the case of reinforcement applying grouting at the region where liquefaction happened at section 12 site of highway construction. The pressure(p), speed(q), grouting penetration radius(R) value from injection pressure, injection speed, characteristics of grain size, and characteristics of viscosity through p-q-t chart analysis was applied to the automatic grouting system which could improve the quality management of grouting. Standard penetration test results after injection showed that N values represented 5-20 and the prevention of liquefaction became possible.

  • The development of technology provides and increases security as well as convenience for humans. The development of new technology directly affects the standard of life thanks to smart home automatic control systems. This paper describes a door control, automatic curtain, home security (CCTV, fire, gas, safe, etc.), home control (energy, light, ventilation, etc.) and web-based smart home automatic controller. It also describes the use of ARM (Advanced RISC Machines) for automatic control of home equipment, a Multi-Axes Servo Controller using FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) and PLC (programmable logic controller). Additionally, it describes the development of a HTML editor using web auto control software. The tab loading time (7 seconds) is faster when using ARM-based web browser software instead of Chrome and Firefox is used because the browser has a small memory footprint (300M). This system is realized by web auto controller language which controls and uses PLCs that are easier than existing devices. This smart home automatic control technology can control smart home equipment anywhere and anytime and provides a remote interface through mobile equipment.
