A Study for Design of Distribution Center using Compromise Programming (Compromise Programming을 이용한 물류센터 설계에 관한 연구)

  • For the effective design of automated distribution center composed of Automated Storage/Retrieval System, Automated Guided Vehicle System, and Conveyor System, we proposed an analysis method to determining. design and control parameters with multiple performance objectives using Compromise Programming, which can resolve the dilemma of conflicting objectives. The Evolution Strategy generates the optimal solutions for each objectives. The Analytic Hierarchy Process selects the best solution among the alternatives generated from Evolution Strategy. The Regression Analysis formulates the objective functions for each objectives. By reducing deviations between goal values and target values generated from Analytic Hierarchy Process, Compromise Programming determines design and control parameters by compromising the multiple objectives formulated using Regression Analysis. When the parameters of system are changed, this proposed analysis method has a benefit of reducing costs and time without repeating whole simulation run.

  • This study is to find subjects for the Automated Container Terminal(ACT) development and container terminal system. Also we analyze the present condition of the container terminal system in Pusan port and its automation level by systems approach. And this paper aims at evaluating on the priority of R&D investment until the beginning of the second stage of New Pusan Port Project(2006). In this process we have considered 8 evaluation indexes(cost, labor, area, time, volume, reliability. safety, convenience) to analyze 6 subsystems. The priority of R&D until target year by sub-systems is as follow: 1. Cargo Handing System, 2. Transfer System, 3. Port Entry System, 4. Storage System (Distribution & Manufacturing System included), 5.Inland Transport System, 6.Port Management & Information System.

  • Every year, about 250,000 new recruits enter the military under the R.O.K military draft system. When the fresh soldier groups arrived at the Recruit Training Center, their supplies are distributed before they get basic military training. The supplies are divided by season, summer and winter. There are 14 class of summer items and 20 class of winter items, and the each class has about a few kinds of items. Totally, there are the hundreds kinds of supplies and the supplies distribution system is manually operated. However, in the current system, many problems such as spending a lot of time, manpower and high change rate due to the inaccurate distribution have been raised. This paper suggests the automated supplies distribution system to solve the above problems. We choose the appropriate facilities in the system by using the AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) and analyse the operating efficiency of the new system by simulation. The new suggested system shows about $39.25\%$ improvement in throughput and 3.75 times reduction of manpower compared to the current system.

  • In this paper I tried to explain and survey various aspects of the Physical Distribution Service through EDI based on Automated Cargo Clearance System of Japan. As the world import-export System have gradually standardized, the Japanese system on air and sea cargo clearance system will effect on Korea promoting rationalization policy of harbor, electronic or automatic technology of import-export Clearance System. Because the rational reform of the present cargo transportation system of Korea might have been inevitable in the growth of a global Electronic Data System, Therefore the object of the paper is to suggest policy direction and provide the necessary of the Nippon Automated Cargo Clearance System, that is, NACCS about air and sea Cargo Clearance System. The most important thing in this study is that the author put the stress on research and analyzes of the application in Korea.

  • The SECS Ⅰ and Ⅱ Protocol has been widely used for the TFT LCD and semiconductor industry. This paper shows how the SECS protocol is implemented for data communications between the Host (CAM) and the TFT LCD equipments. In addition, this study introduces a way to apply the SECS protocol to the manufacturing systems control. It provides better throughput in terms of production and faster control of the automated TFT LCD manufacturing system by way of shortcut and distribution of control and data communications. The SECS protocol is successfully used for the control of the real TFT LCD manufacturing system.

Determination of Target Value under Automatic Vision Inspection Systems (자동시각검사환경하에서 공정 목표치의 설정)

  • This paper deals with problem of determining process target value under automated visual inspection(AVI) system. Three independent error sources - digitizing error, illumination error, and positional error - which have a close relationship with the performance of the AVI system, are considered. Assuming that digitizing error is uniformly or normally distributed and illumination and positional errors are normally distributed, respectively, the distribution function for the error of measured lengths is derived when the length of a product is measured by the AVI system. Then, Optimal target values under two error models of AVI system are obtained by minimizing the total expected cost function which consists of give away, rework and penalty cost. To validate two process setting models, AVI system for drinks filling process is made up and test results are discussed.

  • This study develops an expert system which solves the problems of the MTr/feeder overloads and the feeder constraints in automated radial distribution systems. Then, the objective is to perform the network reconfiguration by switching the tie and sectionalizing switches which eliminates the system violation, while achieving the load balance of the MTrs/feeders. To reduce the search space, an expert system based on heuristic rules is presented, and implemented in AI language Prolog. This system adopts the best-first tree search technique. The computational results are also prepared to show the performance of the heuristic algorithm developed.

  • Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) is commonly used in manufacturing plant, warehouse, distribution center, and terminal. AGV is self-driven vehicle used to transport material between workstations in the shop floor without the help of an operator, and AGV includes a material transfer system located on the top and driving system at the bottom to move the vehicle as desired. For navigation, AGV mostly uses lane paths, signal paths or signal beacons. Various predominant sensors are also used in the AGV. However, in the conventional AGV, there is a problem of not turning or damaging nearby objects or AGV in a narrow space. In this paper, a new driving system is proposed to move the vehicle in a narrow space. In the proposed driving system, two sets of the combined steering-drive unit are adopted to solve the above problem. A prototype of AGV with the new driving system is developed for the comparative analysis with the conventional AGV. In addition, the experimental result shows the improved performance of the new driving system in the maximum speed, braking distance and positioning precision tests.
