  • In industries that are operating various enterprise systems, new systems are integrated and operated in accordance with each period. In particular, when a new system is to be integrated, one of the major considerations is the single sign-on part for integrating and operating the authentication. To implement this authority system using role-based access control method, an extension method for access control method is needed. Therefore, in this paper, we design an extended role-based access control model for interworking with legacy authority system and provide its APIs. The extended role-based access control model is a model in which external authority information, which holds authority information in the authority information, is added. And we describe operations that the REST Web APIs are based on these models. In this paper, the method is described in the back-end APIs and can be implemented as an operation of an extended role-based access control system based on the method.

  • This study was to investigate the concept of ISNI and to find its availability in authority control, realizing importance of ISNI as the bridge identifier including all the information media content industries. ISNI is needed for global and comprehensive name authority control as the bridge identifier for the identification of public identities of parties involved throughout the information media content industries in the creation, production, management and content distribution chains. First of all, it was to inquire ISNI concept, goal, terms and definitions, structure and syntax, allocation of ISNI, administration of the ISNI system, and metadata. Next, it was to suggest the applicability of ISNI in authority control. First, it should be needed to consider in applying ISNI for cooperative authority control. It is possible to interactively use the authority data created in library and other information industries area by constructing KISNI system. Second, it is possible to construct linked data by linking various identifier through ISNI identifier as bridge identifier. Third, it is needed to develop KORMARC for describing ISNI identifier in KORMARC bibliographic and authority record.

  • This research aims at the thorough analysis between the first edition and the revised of the International Standard Archival Authority Record for Corporate Bodies, Personal and Families. The focused methods of the study are comparing with each strength and weakness of the first edition and the revised on the needs and the features of archival authority control as well as how to use its description rule. Besides it looks into the elements to be added and complemented as they are made practical use of archives, hereafter when it is established Korean archival authority control rules, this fundamental research can be certainly valuable as its basic materials.

  • This study suggested the interoperability of authority scheme between archives and libraries having an international authority schemes. First, this study examined the standard of archival authority ISAAR (CPF) and EAC-CPF and the library authority model FRAD, analyzed the similarities and differences between them. Finally, this study ascertained the interoperability between authority control schemes. In each area, Archives and libraries have announced the proposal to develop authority control, but the directions of two institutes was identical by and large. The direction of development of authority scheme included extending the relationship between entities, sharing the records at the international level, and actively conducting the exchange of information within other organizations.

  • This research analyzes the current status of personal name authority control and its impact on the end user searching against OPACs in public libraries in Korea. Further it also suggests the ways to improve the recall ratio in author search with a minimal modification, system-wise and authority-wise. on the KOLISNET as a stepping stone for other public libraries. Finally, a long-term plan for establishing proper authority work in public libraries including the National Library of Korea is briefly proposed. In order to find out whether authority works are conducted and examine how variant written forms of the same foreign name and variant names of the same person are treated, OPACS of the National Library of Korea, KOLISNET, and ten randomly selected public libraries were searched. Findings indicate that while the National Library of Korea was performing authority control, even incomplete, the rest did not appear to conduct any form or authority control. As a spinoff of the research, it is observed that in many public libraries their bibliographic records and retrieval methods are inaccurate, lacking consistency, and incomplete. In sum. it is strongly recommended that (1) as a start for authority work among public libraries personal name authority control should be conducted to enhance the identifying and collocating functions in OPACs, (2) a shared authority database, for which the National Library of Korea's authority database might be used. should be built for Public libraries.

  • It is necessary to construct authority records in OPAC to improve the precision and the recall by organizing and connecting information systematically. Especially, the authority records are widely used in the museums, archives, art galleries, etc as well as in the libraries for work collocation and search. But KORMARC-Authority Format (KSX6006-4) could not have been revised and managed consistently reflecting international cataloging trends and revision needs of Korea libraries since it was published in 1999. Resultingly, there are only few libraries that would have constructed the authority records in OPAC in Korea, and OPAC without authority records could deteriorate the search quality. Therefore, this study would suggest the revision of KORMARC-Authority Format by investigating authority related international trends such as ICP, FRAD, RDA, VIAF and analyzing new MARC21-Authority Format applying these authority related trends. The research methods were used such as literature review, the analysis of 5 domestic libraries' authority records and VIAF records, and the group interview with librarians.

  • It is essential to describe information on a person, family or corporate body that is responsible for creation of archives in providing archival contextual information. This paper discusses the establishment of contextual information based on the authority control of creators of archives by using international standards such as ISAAR (CPF) : International Standard Archival Authority Record for Corporate Bodies, Persons, and Families, Second edition and EAC(Encoded Archival Context). It introduces the LEAF(Linking and Exploring Authority Files) Project in Europe, which presents the model for exchanging and sharing of authority data between libraries, archives and museums by employing EAC. The concluding remarks stress limitations associated with establishing and exchanging of authority files and requirements for the establishment of archival contextual information nationally.

  • The purpose of this study is to introduce the procedure of building the authority file for titles and corporate names for KISTI Serials Union Catalog and describe the current theory and practices of developing the guidelines for standardized authority records. The activities of NACO and its standards for the creation of authority records. the structure and search methods of OCLC Authority Files, and the plan for building KISTI Authority Files are examined, and a comparison is made between the authority format of MARC21 and that of KORMARC. Cooperation among libraries in the creation, maintenance and quality control of AF is strongly suggested.

  • The previous limited authority system capable of implementing attitude command response type and translational command response type by operating SAS actuator has the problem of early saturation of SAS actuator since SAS actuator should compensate the mechanical linkage displacement caused by control sick movement. In this paper, a limited authority system where flight control computer receives the command from the control stick which is not connected to the mechanical linkage is described. In this system the compensation by the SAS actuator is not necessary and SAS actuator saturate later. SAS actuator saturation problem can be further relaxed by using the trim actuator. This new limited authority system is applied to BO-105 model, simulation is performed for the doublet input and pirouette maneuver is also simulated and analyzed.

  • Since the flight-control system is critical for the safety of an aircraft, a fail-safe system is needed in a flight demonstrator used to test a new flight-control system. A backup control system is also needed to ensure safety in using a mechanical flight-control system. This paper presents a development of an MFCS (Mechanical Flight Control System) model for simulating control authority switching of a helicopter technical demonstrator, as well as the results of evaluating the developed MFCS model.
