얼음의 분자구조에 대한 암실 속 과학탐구 활동에서 시각장애학생의 학습상황에 대한 예비 화학교사들의 인식 (Pre-Service Chemistry Teachers' Awareness of Visually Impaired Students' Learning Situation through Scientific Inquiry about Molecular Structure of Ice in Darkroom)

  • 이 연구에서는 예비 화학교사들이 암실 속 과학탐구 활동을 통해서 시각장애학생의 학습상황에 대한 탐색과정과 이해를 조사하고, 이로부터 시각장애학생의 과학 교수 학습지도에의 활용 방안을 제안하고자 하였다. 경북 지역의 사범대학 3학년에 재학중인 예비 화학교사 21명에게 '얼음의 분자구조'에 대한 모형을 암실 속에서 탐색하게 하였다. 암실에서 이루어진 연구자와의 개방적 대화와 끝난 다음의 자유토론을 녹음하여 전사한 뒤 분석하였다. 분석결과, 예비 화학교사들은 암실 속에서 '얼음의 분자구조' 모형을 탐색하고 학습내용을 구상하면서 시각장애학생의 학습상황이 자신의 생각과 다르다는 것을 인식하게 되었다. 또한, 얼음의 분자구조는 잘 알고 있는 내용이지만 자신의 암실활동 경험에 비추어 시각장애학생이 학습과정에서 겪는 어려움을 짐작할 수 있게 되었다. 이러한 인식에 기초하여 예비 화학교사들은 연구자가 제시한 분자모형을 개선하는 아이디어를 제시하였다.

  • In mathematics education, teaching-learning activity can be divided largely into the understanding the mathematical concepts, derivation of principles and laws, acquirement of the mathematical abilities. We utilize various media, teaching tools, audio-visual materials, manufacturing materials for understanding mathematical concepts. But sometimes we cannot define or explain correctly the concepts as well as the derivation of principles and laws by these materials. In order to solve the problem we can use the computer. In this paper, character and movement state of various quadratic function graph types can be used. Using the computers is more visible than other educational instruments like blackboards, O.H.Ps., etc. Then, students understand the mathematical concepts and the correct quadratic function graph correctly. Consquently more effective teaching-learning activity can be done. Usage of computers is the best method for improving the mathematical abilities because computers have functions of the immediate reaction, operation, reference and deduction. One of the important characters of mathematics is accuracy, so we use computers for improving mathematical abilities. This paper is about the program focused on the part of "the quadratic function graph", which exists in mathematical curriculum the middle school. When this program is used for students, it is expected the following educational effect. 1, Students will have positive thought by arousing interests of learning because this program is composed of pictures, animations with effectiveness of sound. 2. This program will cause students to form the mathematical concepts correctly. 3. By visualizing the process of drawing the quadratic function graph, students understand the quadratic function graph structually. 4. Through the feedback, the recognition ability of the trigonometric function can be improved. 5. It is possible to change the teacher-centered instruction into the student-centered instruction. For the purpose of increasing the efficiencies and qualities of mathmatics education, we have to seek the various learning-teaching methods. But considering that no computer can replace the teacher′s role, tearchers have to use the CIA program carefully.

Consequently more effective teaching-learning activity can be done. Usage of computers is the best method for improving the mathematical abilities because computers have functions of the immediate reaction, operation, reference and deduction. This paper is about the program focused on the part of "the application of definite integral", which exists in mathematical curriculum the second and third grade of high school. When this study is used for students as assisting materials, it is expected the following educational effect. 1. Students will have precise concepts because they can understand what they learn intuitively. 2. Students will have positive thought by arousing interests of learning because this program is composed of pictures, animations with effectiveness of sound. 3. It is possible to change the teacher-centered instruction into the student-centered instruction. 4. Students will understand the relation between velocity and distance correctly because they can see the process of getting the length of curve by vector through the monitor. For the purpose of increasing the efficiencies and qualities of mathematics education, we have to seek the various learning-teaching methods. But considering that no computer can replace the teacher′s role, teachers have to use the CIA program carefully.

고등학교 생물 '세포' 단원의 개념도에 의한 분석 (An Analysis of Chap. 'The Cell' of High School Biology Textbook by Concept Map)

  • Analyzing textbook is the first step for enhancing the level of biology education especially in Korea. Prior studies of textbook analysis have mostly dealt with such topics as terminology analysis, content analysis, relationship analysis of chapters, and comparative studies. However, not much attention was paid to concept system to be learned and to relevance of concepts chosen. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to clarify the concept system and to elucidate the relationship among concepts for effective learning. Novak's concept map was utilized as a theoretical framework for the analysis of chapter I of high school biology textbook. Concept map has several distinctive merits in many aspects such as teaching, learning, and evaluation. It not only makes the understanding of key concepts and proposition a lot easier, but also helps to link prior knowledge and new concepts more effectively. This study will be a basic material for improving textbook for effective biology learning. The conclusions of the study are as follows: 1. Concepts in subchapters were arranged unsystematically or they were overlapping. For more effective understanding, those items should be rearranged. 2. Key concepts are not arrayed properly according to their hierarchy. Therefore, it was hard for students to set up concept structure. 3. The concepts emphasized by bold letters were not selected properly in accordance with their importance. Appropriate concepts should be chosen. 4. Key concepts should be explained by using examples in everyday life for easy understanding. 5. Many concepts in molecular biology is too abstract to grasp their meaning. Therefore, many audio-visual materials should be used to aid concept building.

학교숲 조성공사가 녹지공간 만족도 및 환경교육에 미치는 영향 - 초등교사를 대상으로 - (Effects of School Forest on Satisfaction with Greenspace and Environmental Education - Focused on Elementary School Teachers' -)

  • This study, with teachers form elementary schools in Chungju-si as its subjects, has investigated influence of school forest on satisfaction with school greenspace and environmental education. It has reached the following conclusions. As for recognition of and satisfaction of school greenspace there were meaningful differences between teachers form school forest model schools and ones from common schools, which was thought to be due to positive effects of school forest movement. It appeared that environmental education was carried out through audio-visual materials once a week in most schools. On the other hand, as for class places, 'classroom in parallel with outdoor class' and 'classroom education' appeared to be carried out most frequently in the case of school forest model schools, and 'classroom education' in the case of common schools. However, considering the fact that 'field learning' the most important element in environmental education, appeared to be carried out least frequently in both of the groups, which suggests that we should improve it for future through introduction of various field-experience learning programs. As a result of the survey of satisfaction with environmental education, some meaningful differences were recognized between school forest schools and common schools, and 'presence or absence of field learning spaces' was the most frequently answered reason for 'satisfied' and 'unsatisfied'. Thus, 'schools' and related institutions' enthusiastic efforts are needed for providing field-experience spaces where children can directly access to and explore into nature.

Feasibility of Deep Learning-Based Analysis of Auscultation for Screening Significant Stenosis of Native Arteriovenous Fistula for Hemodialysis Requiring Angioplasty

  • Objective: To investigate the feasibility of using a deep learning-based analysis of auscultation data to predict significant stenosis of arteriovenous fistulas (AVF) in patients undergoing hemodialysis requiring percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA). Materials and Methods: Forty patients (24 male and 16 female; median age, 62.5 years) with dysfunctional native AVF were prospectively recruited. Digital sounds from the AVF shunt were recorded using a wireless electronic stethoscope before (pre-PTA) and after PTA (post-PTA), and the audio files were subsequently converted to mel spectrograms, which were used to construct various deep convolutional neural network (DCNN) models (DenseNet201, EfficientNetB5, and ResNet50). The performance of these models for diagnosing ≥ 50% AVF stenosis was assessed and compared. The ground truth for the presence of ≥ 50% AVF stenosis was obtained using digital subtraction angiography. Gradient-weighted class activation mapping (Grad-CAM) was used to produce visual explanations for DCNN model decisions. Results: Eighty audio files were obtained from the 40 recruited patients and pooled for the study. Mel spectrograms of "pre-PTA" shunt sounds showed patterns corresponding to abnormal high-pitched bruits with systolic accentuation observed in patients with stenotic AVF. The ResNet50 and EfficientNetB5 models yielded an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve of 0.99 and 0.98, respectively, at optimized epochs for predicting ≥ 50% AVF stenosis. However, Grad-CAM heatmaps revealed that only ResNet50 highlighted areas relevant to AVF stenosis in the mel spectrogram. Conclusion: Mel spectrogram-based DCNN models, particularly ResNet50, successfully predicted the presence of significant AVF stenosis requiring PTA in this feasibility study and may potentially be used in AVF surveillance.

  • 본 논문에서는 시각, 음향, 위치 정보를 포함하는 멀티모달 센서 입력 정보로부터 사용자가 위치한 장소의 환경 정보를 학습하고 기계학습 추론을 통해 장소를 인식하는 방법을 제안한다. 이 방법은 음영 지역에서의 정확도 감소나 추가 하드웨어 필요 등 기존 위치 정보 인식 방법이 가지는 제약을 극복 가능하고, 지도상의 단순 좌표 인식이 아닌 논리적 위치 정보 인식을 수행 가능하다는 점에서 해당 위치와 관련된 특정 정보를 활용하여 다양한 생활편의를 제공하는 위치 기반 서비스를 수행하는데 보다 효과적인 방법이 될 수 있다. 제안하는 방법에서는 스마트폰에 내장된 카메라, 마이크로폰, GPS 센서 모듈로부터 획득한 시각, 음향, 위치 정보로부터 특징 벡터들을 추출하여 학습한다. 이때 서로 다른 특성을 가진 특징 벡터들을 학습하기 위해 각각의 특징 벡터들을 서로 다른 분류기를 통해 학습한 후, 그 결과를 기반으로 최종적인 하나의 분류 결과를 얻어내는 앙상블 기법을 사용한다. 실험 결과에서는 각각의 데이터를 따로 학습하여 분류한 결과와 비교하여 높은 성능을 보였다. 또한 사용자 상황인지 기반 서비스의 성능 향상을 위한 방법으로서 제안하는 모델의 스마트폰 앱 구현을 통한 활용 가능성에 대해 논의한다.

Blind Image Quality Assessment on Gaussian Blur Images

  • Multimedia is a ubiquitous and indispensable part of our daily life and learning such as audio, image, and video. Objective and subjective quality evaluations play an important role in various multimedia applications. Blind image quality assessment (BIQA) is used to indicate the perceptual quality of a distorted image, while its reference image is not considered and used. Blur is one of the common image distortions. In this paper, we propose a novel BIQA index for Gaussian blur distortion based on the fact that images with different blur degree will have different changes through the same blur. We describe this discrimination from three aspects: color, edge, and structure. For color, we adopt color histogram; for edge, we use edge intensity map, and saliency map is used as the weighting function to be consistent with human visual system (HVS); for structure, we use structure tensor and structural similarity (SSIM) index. Numerous experiments based on four benchmark databases show that our proposed index is highly consistent with the subjective quality assessment.

  • 학습 행동에서의 뇌파 측정은 실시간으로 두뇌 기능 상태를 연구하는데 유용한 연구 방법이며 대뇌의 부위 중 전두엽은 새로움에 대한 지향 반응과 사고 활동에 중요한 역할을 한다. 본 연구에서는 중학교 2학년 학생에게 새로운 시청각 학습 자료를 제시하고 5회의 반복학습이 이루어지는 과정에서의 전두부($Fp_2,Fp_2$)의 뇌파를 측정하고 Fourier, Wavelet 변환을 하여 정량적으로 분석하였다. 주의 집중, 정서 등 인지와 관련지어 특정파의 조절 능력 및 파의 특성을 이용한 여러 연구들을 종합해보면, 기억력, 주의지속과 연관되어 알파파, 베타파와 세타파가 발생되는 것을 볼 수 있다. 이 중 알파파는 기존의 뇌 상태를 동기화시키고 주의나 기억의 과정에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 것으로 증명되었다. 본 논문에서는 신호 처리에 높은 효율을 보이는 Wavelet 변환을 이용하여, 학습이 됨에 따라 변화하는 EEG 신호 가운데 알파파의 패턴과 활성도를 분석하고자 한다.

국내 원격 교육 콘텐츠의 접근성 분석 사례 (A Case Study on the Accessibility of Online Learning Content in Korea)

  • 국내의 웹기반 교육용 콘텐츠 10개를 선정하여 접근성 평가를 실시하였다. (1) 자동 분석 프로그램인 Bobby를 사용한 웹 콘텐츠 접근성 지침(WCAG) 1.0 준수 여부에 대한 기초 자료 산출 (2) SGML 표준 문법 검사 (3) 텍스트 브라우저를 포함한 여러 브라우저에서의 호환성 시험 (4) W3C가 제안한 접근성 체크포인트를 중심으로 한 직접 분석 순으로 접근성을 평가한 결과, 대부분의 콘텐츠가 모든 단계에서 매우 저조한 결과를 보여주었다. 접근성이 낮은 주된 이유는 웹 표준, 브라우저 호환성, 장치 독립성에 대해서 거의 고려를 하지 않고 콘텐츠를 개발하기 때문인 것으로 보인다. 또 검사 대상 콘텐츠들은 대부분 가장 잘 꾸며진 환경의 사용자를 중심으로 한 시청각적인 효과에 치중한 결과, 제한된 사용자 환경에서의 대안적인 접근 경로를 제공하지 않고 있었다. 보편적인 정보 취득을 포함한 점점 더 많은 학습이 온라인으로 이루어지는 현실에서 접근성이 낮은 콘텐츠들은 정보 격차를 더 심화시킬 수 있을 것이다. 따라서, 학습용 콘텐츠의 품질을 결정하는 중요한 요소로 접근성 문제를 고려해야 한다.
