ICT 시대 의학/간호학 전공학생의 장기기증 의향과 장기기증 등록 관련 요인 (The Associated Factors of the Intention and Registration for Organ Donation among Some Medical/Nursing Students in ICT based Society)

  • 인터넷 시대를 맞이하여 의학과/간호학과 전공 학생을 대상으로 장기기증에 대한 의향과 등록 여부에 대해 알아보고, 이들과 관련이 있는 요인을 파악하고자 하였다. 광주지역 사립 의학전문대학원/의과대학에 재학 중인 의학과/간호학과 학생 629명을 대상으로 장기기증에 대한 의향과 등록 여부, 장기기증에 대한 지식과 태도 등에 대해 구조화된 설문지를 이용하여 자료수집하였다. 연구결과, 장기기증에 대한 의향은 72.1%가 있었고, 장기기증을 등록한 경우는 12.5%였다. 장기기증에 대한 지식점수는 $6.1{\pm}2.7$점으로 38%의 정답률을 보였고, 장기기증에 대한 태도점수는 $63.2{\pm}7.0$점이었다. 장기기증 의향에 대한 교차비는 여학생, 뇌사를 사망으로 인정하는 경우, 장기기증에 대한 태도 점수가 높을수록 통계적으로 유의하게 높았다. 또한, 장기기증을 위한 등록과는 의학전공, 장기기증에 대한 지식과 태도 점수가 높을수록 장기기증을 위한 등록에 대한 교차비가 통계적으로 유의하게 증가하였다.

The Relationships of End-of-life Care Stress with Compassionate Competence and Attitudes toward End-of-life Care among Pediatric Nurses

  • Purpose: This study aimed to provide basic data for developing interventions to relieve the end-of-life care stress experienced by pediatric nurses by examining the relationships of end-of-life care stress with compassionate competence and attitudes toward end-of-life care. Methods: Data were collected via a survey that was conducted from September 10 to September 30, 2018 and administered to 113 nurses who had worked for more than 6 months in a pediatric unit at a tertiary hospital in Seoul, South Korea. The data were analyzed for frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, and the independent t-test, one-way analysis of variance, and Pearson correlation analysis were conducted using SPSS version 25.0. Results: End-of-life care stress among pediatric nurses had a weak positive correlation (r=0.216, P<0.05) with compassionate competence and had no significant correlation with attitudes toward end-of-life care. Among the sub-factors of end-of-life care stress, psychological difficulties had a weak positive correlation with sensitivity (r=0.309, P<0.01) and communication (r=0.230, P<0.05), which are aspects of compassionate competence. Lack of knowledge about end-of-life care had a weak positive correlation with communication (r=0.209, P<0.05) as an aspect of compassionate competence. Conclusion: To improve the quality of end-of-life care provided by pediatric nurses, it is necessary to improve their compassionate competence and reduce their end-of-life care stress by developing education and support programs tailored to the characteristics of children and specific communication methods.

독림가(篤林家)의 임목벌채의식(林木伐採意識)과 연관변수(聯關變數) (Model Forest Owner's Attitudes toward Tree Felling and Related Variables)

  • 독림가(篤林家) 83명(名)을 대상으로 종속변수(從屬變數)로서의 벌채의식수준(伐採意識水準)을 수량화(數量化)하는 동시에, 이에 영향(影響)을 미칠 것으로 생각되는 6가지 독립변수(獨立變數)와의 관계를 개별적(個別的), 종합적(綜合的)으로 분석(分析)하고, 각(各) 독립변수(獨立變數)가 종속변수(從屬變數)의 변량(變量)에 미치는 영향력(影響力)의 상대적(相對的) 중요도(重要度)를 구명(究明)하여 다음과 같은 결과(結果)를 얻었다. 1) 독림가(篤林家)의 벌채성향(伐採性向)은 매우 높게 나타났으며, 연령(年齡), 전달매개변수(傳達媒介變數) 및 사회심리변수(社會心理變數)가 낮을수록, 그리고 교육수준(敎育水準)과 사회경제적(社會經濟的) 지위(地位)가 높을수록 벌채욕망(伐採慾望)은 더욱 커지는 경향(傾向)을 보였다. 2) 종속변수(從屬變數)와 6개(個) 독립변수(獨立變數) 사이의 중상관계수(重相關係數)는 0.5322로서 매우 유의적(有意的)이었으며, 이들 독립변수(獨立變數)는 종합적(綜合的)으로 종속변수(從屬變數)의 변량(變量)을 28.3% 설명(說明)할 수 있다. 종속변수(從屬變數)에 대한 각(各) 독립변수(獨立變數)의 상대적(相對的) 영향력(影響力)은 전달매개변수(傳達媒介變數)가 13.1%, 사회심리변수(社會心理變數)가 6.3%, 연령변수(年齡變數)가 6.1%이다. 3) 전달매개수단(傳達媒介手段)을 상면적(相面的), 정보원(情報源) 및 사회참여(社會參與) 및 대량전달매개수단(大量傳達媒介手段)과의 접촉(接觸)으로 세분(細分)하여, 이들 독립변수(獨立變數)와 종속변수(從屬變數)와의 단순상관계수(單純相關係數)를 계산(計算)하였더니 모두 매우 유의적(有意的)인 정(正)의 상관(相關)을 나타냈다. 이러한 3개(個) 독립변수(獨立變數)는 종속변수(從屬變數)의 변량(變量)을 16.4% 설명(說明)할 수 있으며, 이것은 상면적(相面的) 정보원(情報源)에 의하여 8.8%, 사회참여(社會參與)에 의하여 4.7%, 대량전달매개수단(大量傳達媒介手段)에 의하여 2.9% 설명(說明)하는 것으로 나타났다. 4) 사회심리변수(社會心理變數)를 7가지 성격변수(性格變數)로 나누어 종속변수(從屬變數)와의 관계를 분석(分析)한 결과(結果) 독림가(篤林家)의 벌채성향(伐採性向)은 운명적(運命的), 불신적(不信的), 무의욕적(無意慾的) 성격(性格)을 지니고 있을수록 크고, 보수적(保守的) 성격(性格)일수록 작게 나타났다. 종속변수(從屬變數)와 7개(個) 성격변수간(性格變數間)의 중상관계수(重相關係數)는 0.5461 로서 매우 유의적(有意的)이었다. 7개(個) 성격변수(性格變數)는 통합적(統合的)으로 종속변수(從屬變數)의 변량(變量)을 29.8% 설명(說明)할 수 있으며, 상대적(相對的) 영향력(影響力)이 큰 성격변수(性格變數)는 불신적(不信的) 성격(性格)이 11.1%, 무의욕적(無意慾的) 성격(性格)이 10.8%로 나타났다.

정보통신기술(ICT)을 활용한 과학학습지도안 개발과 효과에 관한 연구 - 10학년 과학 '생식' 단원을 중심으로 (A Study on Development and Effect of Information Communication Technology (lCT) Based Science Unit - Focusing on 'Reproduction' of Science 10)

  • 본 연구는 ICT를 활용하여 가르친 학생들의 생식에 관한 이해와 태도의 변화를 알아보는데 그 목적이 있다. 10학년 과학 소단원인 '생식'에 대해 ICT를 활용한 학습 지도안을 개발하였고, 그 지도안을 학생들에게 적용하였다. 연구 대상은 지방 도시에 위치한 한 10학년 8개 학급 267명을 대상이었다. 4개 반은 lCT 학습 지도안을 가지고 1인 1 개인용 컴퓨터가 갖추어진 전산 실습실에서 수업을 하였고, 나머지 4개 반은 교과서를 중심으로 만든 수업 지도안에 따라 일반 교실에서 수업하였다. 검사도구는 생식의 이해를 묻는 지필 고사와 인간 생식에 대한 의식을 묻는 설문지로서, 전자는 수업 후에만 실시하였고, 후자는 수업 전과 후에 실시하였다. 과학 개념 이해의 경우, 두 집단 간의 평균값은 단순한 개념을 묻는 문항에서는 비슷하여 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 없으나 학생들이 어렵게 생각하는 개념과 자료해석 부분에서는 ICT 활용 집단이 더 높아서 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다. 인간 생식에 관한 의식을 묻는 설문에서는 두 집단 모두 수업 후가 수업 전보다 높은 점수를 얻었다. ICT 활용 집단은 정보 탐색, 채팅 혹은 인스턴트 메시징 등을 이용하여 쪽지를 교환하는 방법을 사용하였으며, 10대 임신 등 몇 몇 논쟁점들에서 성에 관한 더 긍정적인 인식을 보여주었다. 이와 같은 연구의 결과로 볼 때 ICT활용 수업 지도안을 통한 수업은 학생들이 어려워하는 부분의 개념 이해에 효과적임을 알 수 있었고, 웹 상에서의 토론을 통해 서로의 생각을 나누면서 다양한 의견들을 접하는 기회를 제공하였다고 볼 수 있다.

논증강화교육이 의학과 학생의 문제바탕학습 경험에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Argumentation Instruction on Medical Student Experiences with Problem-Based Learning)

  • When participating in problem-based learning (PBL), it is important for medical students to generate claims and provide justifications for their claims in small group discussions. This study aimed to investigate the effect of argumentation instruction on medical student learning experiences with PBL. A total of one hundred first-year preclinical students from Inje University College of Medicine, who had attended argumentation instruction, participated in this study. All of the participants completed a 5-point Likert scale questionnaire regarding their learning experiences with PBL, before and after the argumentation instruction. The questionnaire comprised 22 items with eight subcategories: argumentation activity, reflection, integration of basic and clinical science, identification of lack of knowledge, logical thinking, self-directed study, communication, and attitude toward discussion. The collected data were analyzed through a paired-sample t-test. The results of this study found that the argumentation instruction promoted the preclinical students' experiences with argumentation activities, reflection, an integration of basic and clinical science, the identification of their lack of knowledge, logical thinking, and self-directed study, and it increased positive attitudes toward group discussion. The findings suggest argumentation instruction can enhance medical student group discussions and help students achieve the objectives of PBL, including acquisition of basic and clinical science knowledge and development of clinical reasoning and self-directed learning abilities, which can highlight the meaningful learning experiences students have with PBL.

Guided Instruction of Introducing Computational Thinking to Non-Computer Science Education Major Pre-Service Teachers

  • Since 'teaching coding' or 'programming' classes for computational thinking (CT) education in K-12 are renowned around the world, a pre-service teachers' readiness for integrating CT into their teaching subjects is important due to the fact that CT is considered to be another 'R' from algoRitm for 21st century literacy, in addition to the traditional 3R (Reading, Writhing, and Arithmetic) [2] and CT roles to other disciplines. With this rationale, we designed a guided instruction based CT course for pre-service teachers. We show the effectiveness of the program with respect to the teachers' attitude toward combining CT into their teaching subjects, and mindset changes of learning computing connected with the career development of the teacher themselves. The research focused on the instructional methodology of teaching programing for non-Computer Science Education (CSE) majors who are not familiar with computer science for alleviating the cognitive load of first exposure to programming course under the CT concepts.

Generation YZ's E-Healthcare Use Factors Distribution in COVID-19's Third Year: A UTAUT Modeling

  • Purpose: With the number of COVID-19 cases declining and generational differences among how people use mobile apps, including health service apps, the goal of this research is to identify and analyze the factors that affect people's attitudes when using the Halodoc health service app during the third year of the pandemic. Research design, data, and methodology: This study proposes a quantitative analysis method based on PLS-SEM modeling. This study has used a questionnaire survey to collect randomized data from 268 Halodoc users from generations Y and Z in Jakarta. Results: Both the Y and Z generations believe there is a significant usefulness factor in the attitude toward using the application. The start of the pandemic period demonstrates that the urgency of using health service applications is no longer determined by performance expectations, effort, or social panic, but rather by these applications' usability. Conclusions: Even though a health service application is no longer considered an urgent service or a priority need, attitudes, and behaviors in using it emphasize the aspect of long-term benefits. These findings supplement other considerations and understandings in application of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model in explaining attitudes and intention behaviors.

The Effect of Dental Hygienists' Empathy the Elderly on their Communication Skills

  • Purpose: As life expectancy increases and interest in oral health increases, the opportunity to visit the dentist increases. To provide safe dental care for elderly patients and accurately identify their needs. We aim to understand the impact of knowledge, image, and empathy for the elderly on communication skills. Research design, data, and methodology: This study conducted an online survey using a convenience sample of 201 dental hygienists working in dental hospitals and clinics from October 4 to October 6, 2023. The purpose of the survey was explained and consent was obtained in the research consent form before being conducted. Results: Differences in knowledge, image, empathy, and communication skills among the elderly include age, clinical experience, need for elderly-related education, and confidence in oral care in elderly patients with systemic diseases (p<0.05, p<0.01, p<0.001). The factor affecting communication skills toward the elderly was empathy (t=15.416(0.000***)). Conclusions: Through this study, the communication skills with the elderly is a basic quality and attitude that dental hygienists must have. Therefore, it is essential to develop and implement empathy and communication skills training programs for dental hygienists, which can significantly contribute to fostering a positive trust-based relationship between elderly patients and dental professionals. This proactive measure is crucial in preparing for the upcoming era of an increasingly aged society.

온라인 과학기술 뉴스의 설득효과 탐구 (Exploring Persuasion Effects of Online Science Technology News)

  • 인터넷은 과학기술 정보를 포함한 다양한 정보의 유통 채널로 널리 활용되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 정보원 공신력에 따라 과학 관련 온라인 뉴스의 설득효과가 어떠한 차이를 보이는가를 대학생들을 대상으로 실험을 통해 살펴보았다. 구체적으로, 온라인 과학기술 뉴스에 등장하는 정보원의 신분(교수, 학생)과 집단구분(내집단, 외집단)을 달리한 실험조건에서 과학기술 메시지를 전달하고 이후 피험자의 과학기술에 대한 유용성 지각과 태도에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 연구결과, 과학기술에 대한 유용성 지각은 정보원 공신력과 내집단 외집단 구분과의 상호작용에 의해 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다.

Associations of Self-rated Health and Socioeconomic Status with Information Seeking and Avoiding Behavior among Post-Treatment Cancer Patients

  • This study investigated how self-rated health and socioeconomic status are associated with behaviour of cancer survivors regarding desire for information. For this association, we compared survivors who did not seek information about cancer with those who did. We examined how sociodemographic, socioeconomic, cancerrelated, and health information factors are associated with self-rated health (SRH) by health information seeking/avoiding behavior in a survey of 502 post-treatment cancer patients. In the information seeking group, all four factors exhibited significant relationships with SRH. SRH values were significantly high for women (p<0.05), non-Hispanic White (p<0.05), and educated (p<0.01) participants, and for those who had high self-efficacy to use health information by themselves (p<0.01). Furthermore, in the information avoiding group, not only were there no significant relationships between socioeconomic status (SES) and SRH, but there were negative associations between their attitude/capacity and the SRH. In terms of communication equity, the promotion of information seeking behavior can be an effective way to reduce health disparities that are caused by social inequalities. Information avoiding behavior, however, does not exhibit a negative contribution toward the relationship between SRH and SES. Information seeking behavior was positively associated with SRH, but avoiding behavior was not negatively associated. We thus need to eliminate communication inequalities using health intervention to support information seeking behavior, while simultaneously providing support for avoiders.
