This study examined which factors influence the parental borrowing for children's college education in the U.S. A double-hurdle model was applied to analyze both the parents’decision to borrow and the amount of borrowing. Parents’income and total costs of college attendance had significant positive effects on both the decision to borrow and the amount borrowed. Students’income, parents’cash and savings had significant negative impacts on the amount borrowed, while home equity and the students’expected future income were significant positive factors. Greater amounts of grants significantly increased the probability of borrowing, but reduced the loan amount. Parents with smaller household size, and those who were college graduates were more likely to borrow. White parents borrowed greater amounts than did their non-White counterparts. The age of the student was a significant negative factor in the probability, as well as the level, of borrowing.

모바일 장치 사용의 증가는 다양한 분야에서 모바일 애플리케이션의 개발을 초래하고, 생활의 편리성과 정보의 다양성으로 우리의 일상생활에 많은 영향을 미친다. 본 논문에서는 안드로이드 운영체제와 근거리 통신을 이용한 상황인식을 위한 모바일 애플리케이션의 설계를 제안한다. 이 시스템은 태그를 통해 증가된 개체에 대한 서비스를 지원하기 위해서 NFC 기반의 학생들의 학생 인증을 위한 기능을 설계하고 모바일 출석 관리 시스템에 적용한다.

This paper is about implementation issues for use of the Internet technology in education. An examination of the current status of virtual university provides guidance for subsequent prototype development. A virtual university is the Internet based process by which students increase their specific knowledge and skills via electronic interaction with content and people. Virtual university enables colleges and universities to provide students and faculty with network access to courseware and educational materials on multimedia servers free from time and geography constraints. In this paper, we present a prototype instruction support system (ISS). The ISS consists of the following components in architecture: Internet, software, hardware, database systems, users, and workflow. The ISS also assists several functions as follows: lecture notes, register processes, attendance checks, built-in boards, grading systems, questions and answers, electronic libraries, chats, and search engines. Our work will provide a guideline for the development of a virtual classroom for distance education and learning.

스마트폰이 생활의 필수품으로 자리잡아감에 따라 인간 편의를 위해 스마트폰을 기본수단으로 많은 서비스가 제공되고 있다. 또한, 모바일 기반 서비스의 고도화로 스마트폰에 부착된 센서와 네트워크 통신을 적극적으로 활용하는 애플리케이션의 수가 증가하고 있다. 이로 인해 배터리 사용시간 단축, 통신량 증가 등 하드웨어 리소스의 부하 증대에 대한 사용자의 불만이 꾸준히 제기되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 최근 대학에서 도입하고 있는 비콘 기반 출석관리 환경에서 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 MQTT 프로토콜 기반 통신을 적용한 시스템을 제안하고 설계한다. 제안하는 출석관리 시스템에서는 발간/구독 방식의 경량 프로토콜인 MQTT를 사용함으로써 네트워크 부하 및 배터리 낭비를 최소화 하고자 한다.

The trend toward ubiquitous computing does not represent simply a change in the way people access and use information. In the end it will have a profound effect on the way people work with each other. In this paper, we have defined functionalities of an information system that helps operate a kind of smart office environment, and implemented the system using RFID technology. The system provides three major functions-time and attendance management, personalized message notification, and flexible seat allocation for a smart working center. We have also suggested the key performance indicators and performed a KPI analysis to measure an efficiency of implemented system.

The purpose of this study is to examine the social competence of children with reference to day care center's structural, process variables and demographic variables. The subjects were 156 children who attend day care center, aged from 3 to 5 years and 9 teachers in Seoul or the province of KyungkiDo. Data were gathered via the structured Questionnaires distributed to the teachers to rate children's social competence and their own job satisfaction. And two observers rated teacher-child interaction in day care center The major findings are as follows The variables predicting children's social competence were child's sex, age, period of attendance in day care center, teacher's job satisfaction, and group size. Especially this study suggests that teachers who are highly satisfied with their job and small group size influence children's social competence positively.

A convention is a large meeting to pursue some particular purposes by means of social interactions between participants. Therefore, the key to decide whether a convention is successful or not is that how many active people participate in a meeting. Revenues of this sort of convention depend on a registration fee of participants, so that it is possible to influence badly on a budget operation according to the fact that the number of real participants is smaller than the number of prospective participants. In conclusion, in order to have a large attendance convention organizers and managers should announce benefits by positive attitudes when participants attend a meeting. Representative methods of promotion for providing prospective participants with convention information are advertisements, P.R activities, and personal sales.

본 논문은 유비쿼터스 환경에서 RFID를 이용하여 접근할 수 있는 기본적인 비즈니스 모델인 입·출입 시스템에 대하여 연구하고 시뮬레이션 하였다. 본 논문의 입·출입 시스템은 학교 및 다양한 회사에서 적용될 수 있는 시스템으로서, 기존의 입·출입 시스템의 한계를 극복하고 보다 효율적이고 편리한 구조를 제안함으로서 다양한 모델에 적용할 수 있도록 하였다. 또한 위치인식 및 상황 인식을 기반으로 유비쿼터스 환경에서의 입·출입 시스템의 초석이 될 것으로 예상된다. 기본적으로 RFID 태그는 입·출입을 위해 학생이나 각 회사의 사원에게 부여되며, RFID 태그와 관련된 모든 데이터 관리는 IDS(Information Database Seuer)에서 관리하도록 한다. 제안된 시스템은 모든 입·출입 상황을 웹으로 확인할 수 있으며, 입·출입에 관련된 정보만을 제공하는 것이 아니라 상황에 따라 필요한 메시지를 사용자에게 포워딩 함으로서 융통성과 업무 효율을 증가시킬 수 있다.

본 연구는 모바일 RFID를 활용한 출결관리 방법 및 그 시스템을 설계에 대하여 분석한다. RFID를 활용한 출결관리 방법에 대한 기존의 방식은 ID 카드와 같은 매체에 FID 태그를 부착하여 일정한 장소에 설치되어 있는 리더 (Reader)에 스캔함으로써, 정보가 저장되는 단순한 형식이 대부분이었다. 그러나 본 연구에서는 사용자에게 태그를 제공하는 것이 아니라 모바일 FRID 리더를 제공하여, 사용자의 부정 사용을 최소화하고, 프라이버시를 강화할 수 있는 시스템을 설계한다. 이를 위해 U-출결관리 모델의 시나리오와 다이어그램, 그리고 본 모델과 관련된 기술 사항에 대한 검토를 진행한다. 또한 본 모델을 Timmers의 비즈니스 모델 정의에 의해 분석하고, 이 모델에서 사용되는 태그들의 경제성을 태그 평가 모형에 기반하여 분석한다.

스마트폰의 대중화와 고성능화로 인하여 다양한 센서들이 부착되고 이를 활용한 서비스가 활발히 출시되고 있다. 이들 중 GPS 위치정보를 기반으로 한 상황 인식 서비스는 다양한 분야에서 킬러 서비스로 각광을 받고 있으나, GPS 위치획득방식 특성상 실내에서는 서비스가 제한되는 문제를 안고 있다. 최근에는 GPS를 대신하여 사용자의 실내위치를 파악하기 위해 NFC, iBeacon과 같이 스마트폰 운영체제에서 제공하는 근거리통신기술을 활용하는 사례가 점차 증가하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 근거리통신기술 중 iBeacon을 사용하여 대학교에서 유용하게 활용할 수 있는 스마트 출석관리 시스템을 제안하고자 한다. 제안된 시스템은 iBeacon과 학생의 스마트폰 간에 BLE(Blutooth Low Energy) 통신을 통하여 출석 정보를 자동으로 수집한다. 또한, 출석정보의 효율적인 수집과 실시간 확인을 위하여 발간/구독 기반의 DDS 미들웨어를 프레임워크로 사용한다.
