Data Management and Communication Networks for Man-Machine Interface System in Korea Advanced Liquid MEtal Reactor : Its Functionality and Design Requirements

  • The DAta management and Communication NETworks (DACONET), Which it is designed as a subsystem for Man-Machine Interface System of Korea Advanced LIquid MEtal Reactor(KALIMER MMIS) and advanced design concept is approached, is described. The DACONET has its roles of providing the real-time data transmission and communication paths between MMIS systems, providing the quality data for protection, monitoring and control of KALIMER and logging the static and dynamic behavioral data during KALIMER operation. The DACONET is characterised as the distributed real-time system architecture with high performance, Future direction, in which advanced technology is being continually applied to Man-Machine interface System Development of Nuclear Power Plants, will be considered for designing data management and communication networks of KALIMER MMIS

  • Based on the systems and devices which are being developed in the KNICS project, the data communication network (DCN) which is an essential element for the interfaces among the I&C systems. is designed. The traffic load for each network is calculated at the expected maximum traffic condition. The result shows that the utilizations of all networks satisfy the design requirements.

  • As part of IAEA CRP on "Compilation and evaluation of photonuclear data for applications", we evaluated photoproduction data of Mo, Zn, S and Cl isotopes for medical use and biological applications. Available experimental data were collected and their discrepancies were analyzed to select or reconstruct the representative data set. The photoabsorption cross sections were then evaluated tv applying the Giant Dipole Resonance (GDR) model for the energies below about 30 MeV and the quasi-deuteron model for energies below 140 MeV. The resulting representative photoabsorption data were given as input for the theoretical calculations for the emission process of light nuclei including neutron, proton, deuteron, triton, $^3He$, alpha particles and gamma rays by use of the Hauser-Feshbach and the preequilibrium model.
