A study on a ballast optimization algorithm for onboard decision support system (선내탑재 의사결정지원 시스템을 위한 발라스트 최적화 알고리즘에 관한 연구)

  • Because there are only a limited number of means of action that are available for the master to pursue in the event of flooding, onboard decision support system has been required. The majority of systems activated during a flooding emergency (such as watertight and semi-watertight doors, bulkhead valves, dewatering pumps etc.) almost exclusively aim to restore a sufficiently high level of subdivision to prevent flooding from spreading through the ship. Even though assuming the flooding scenario is not catastrophic, the use of ballast tanks can be an additional and very effective tool to ensure both prevention of flooding spreading and also improve ship stability. This paper describes an optimization algorithm devised to choose the set of ballast tanks that should be filled in order to achieve an optimal response to a flooding accident.

  • Today the light of mankind since the dawn of mankind and that they were living "lives" on the huge influence across space is a dynamic energy. Because of this, when all human beings with the light and you can feel more comfortable with a stable mind to the beauty and the pursuit of happiness is to have instincts. In this paper, a fuzzy control system using a combination of external environmental factors, respectively, the conversion of quantitative uncertainty information into the LED lighting is designed to express algorithms, available in indoor circadian control circuit was designed and fabricated LED. Factor in the external environment temperature, humidity, and light intensity values to the controller through the sensor to accept these values and the optimal values for lighting the fuzzy control algorithm is converted into human emotion to feel comfortable to express through the dimming control LED lighting.

  • This paper presents a machine learning model that predicts stroke risks in atrial fibrillation patients using public big data. As the training data, 68 independent variables including demographic, medical history, health examination were collected from the Korean National Health Insurance Service. To predict stroke incidence in patients with atrial fibrillation, we applied deep neural network. We firstly verify the performance of conventional statistical models (CHADS2, CHA2DS2-VASc). Then we compared proposed model with the statistical models for various hyperparameters. Accuracy and area under the receiver operating characteristic (AUROC) were mainly used as indicators for performance evaluation. As a result, the model using batch normalization showed the highest performance, which recorded better performance than the statistical model.

  • A compact LPDA antenna consisting of right triangle-shaped dipole elements appended with strips is proposed for UWB applications. First, right triangle-shaped dipole elements are used instead of conventional strip dipole elements to reduce the width of the LPDA antenna. Second, the spacing between the LPDA elements is decreased to reduce the length of the LPDA antenna. Finally, strips are appended at the ends of the right triangle-shaped dipole elements in order to further reduce the width of the antenna. A prototype of the proposed antenna with 16 elements and gain > 4 dBi is fabricated on an FR4 substrate with dimensions of 44 mm×30 mm. Measured frequency band of the fabricated antenna is 2.99-14.76 GHz for a VSWR < 2, which ensures UWB operation, and measured gain range is 4.0-5.5 dBi with a front-to-back ratio larger than 10 dB. The length and width of the proposed compact LPDA antenna are reduced by 40.9% and 20.6%, respectively, compared to the conventional LPDA.

Humidity Sensor Using Microstrip Patch Antenna (마이크로스트립 패치 안테나를 이용한 습도 센서)

  • In this paper, a humidity sensor using a microstrip patch antenna(MPA) and polyvinyl alcohol(PVA) is studied. PVA is a polymer material whose permittivity changes with humidity, and a rectangular slot is added to the radiating edge of the MPA, which is sensitive to changes in electric field, in order to increase the sensitivity to changes in relative permittivity. After thinly coating the area around the radiating edge with the rectangular slot of the MPA fabricated on a 0.76 mm-thick RF-35 substrate with PVA, the changes in the resonant frequency and magnitude of the MPA's input reflection coefficient are measured when relative humidity is adjusted from 40% to 80% in 10% increments at a temperature of 25 degrees using a temperature and humidity chamber. Experiment results show that when the relative humidity increases from 40% to 80%, the resonance frequency of the antenna' input reflection coefficient decreases from 2.447 GHz to 2.418 GHz, whereas the magnitude increases from -7.112 dB to -3.428 dB.

  • In the rapid technological development of artificial intelligence (AI), electric vehicles, and robots based the fourth industrial revolution, semiconductors determine the core performance, and semiconductor competitiveness is directly related to national competitiveness. However, the Korean semiconductor industry has continuously weakened its competitiveness in the system semiconductor field, excluding memory semiconductors, so in this study, a new smart contract basedblockchain business model to engage the global market, which is the most urgent need for the growth of Korean fabless system semiconductor industry in recession. F-SBM (Fabless-Smart contract based Blockchain Model) proposed. In this study, through the new F-SBM, it was verified how to engage new customers for fabless firms through smart contract based consortium blockchain regarding technology, economy, and reliability items of fabless. This model has great significance in improving the high entry barriers to engaging new customers for the long-cherished desire of the Korean fabless system semiconductor industry and deriving new growth solutions.

  • In 4th Industrial Revolution, technologies such as artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, and Big data are closely related to the maritime industry, which led to the birth of autonomous vessels. Due to the technical characteristics of the current vessel, the speed cannot be suddenly lowered, so complex communication such as the help of a tug boat, boarding of a pilot, and control of the vessel at the onshore control center is required to berth at the port. In this study, clustering analysis was used to resolve how to establish control criteria for vessels to enter port when autonomous vessels are operating. K-Means clustering was used to quantitatively stage the arrival pattern based on the accumulated AIS(Automatic Identification System) data of the incoming vessel, and the arrival phase using SOG(Speed over Ground), COG(Course over Ground), and ROT(Rate of Turn) Was divided into six phase.

  • The safe evacuation of people during disasters is of utmost importance. Various life safety evacuation simulation tools have been developed and implemented, with most relying on algorithms that analyze maps to extract the shortest path and guide agents along predetermined routes. While effective in predicting evacuation routes in stable disaster conditions and short timeframes, this approach falls short in dynamic situations where disaster scenarios constantly change. Existing algorithms struggle to respond to such scenarios, prompting the need for a more adaptive evacuation route algorithm that can respond to changing disasters. Artificial intelligence technology based on reinforcement learning holds the potential to develop such an algorithm. As a fundamental step in algorithm development, this study aims to evaluate whether an evacuation algorithm developed by reinforcement learning satisfies the performance conditions of the evacuation simulation tool required by IMO MSC.1/Circ1533.

  • With the development of the 4th industrial revolution technology, smartization in various fields is accelerating. The shipping and logistics industry is also promoting smartization by combining advanced new technologies such as digital twin, Internet of Things, and artificial intelligence. In Korea, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries is promoting a strategy to spread the smart shipping logistics system in line with the changing global shipping logistics trend, and through this, it is creating a foundation for smart shipping logistics. This study aims to present the concept of a communication tool that recognizes the importance of communication between each logistics entity and exchanges opinions between logistics entities in a virtual digital twin environment to cope with the changing shipping logistics process. In addition, for the development of these communication tools, this study derive a software design model, including architecture.
