  • Framework is the set of interrelated classes, constructing reusable design in specific domain or set of abstracted classes, and defines common architecture among applications included in domain. Developers can reuse not only class code but also wide range of knowledge on domain by reusing framework. In this papers, we present COM(Component-Oriented Methodology) for the reuse of framework, and develop construction environment for framework and domain development. That is, domain is analyzed by input of domain knowledge on real world to create software based on component, and hotspot is identified through analyzed information, and redesigned(refactoring) by putting additional information on users and developers. After that, I will create domain framework and application framework depending on domain. In this Component-oriented methodology, information is searched, understood and extracted or composite through component-pattern library storage internally. Then this information is classified into the information on component and pattern respectively, and used as additional information in redesigning. With this, developer can obtain reusability, easiness and portability by constructing infrastructure environment that allow to register, update and delete component through Component Pattern Management System(CPMS) under the development environment which can be easily applied to his own application using multimedia component, in this thesis, CORBA(Common Object Request Broker Architecture) environment.

  • In the 1950s, the concept of configuration management (CM) was started by the US Department of Defense (DOD). Later, it has begun to be applied in aerospace, software, engineering, construction, and nuclear power industry. However, configuration management (CM) in the Korean nuclear industry was firstly utilized in 2006 only for selected parts of facilities, while the US nuclear industry has applied CM for the facilities' entire systems since 1990s. Furthermore, configuration management (CM) is in its conceptual stage in the Korean nuclear industry because of ambiguous CM concepts, lacks of CM professional manpower, non-computerization, and inadequacy of CM procedures and processes. In order to address this issues, seven industries (including defense, aerospace, software, engineering, architecture, civil engineering, nuclear power) that utilize the concept of configuration management (CM) were compared and analyzed based on the CM purpose, technique, and life-cycle perspectives. By an extensive literature review and expert interviews, this paper developed a framework of configuration management (CM) for the nuclear industry. And also, a list of functions based on life-cycle stages and CM techniques are developed for clarifying CM framework in order to promote practical applications.

  • This paper describes the software download framework for SDR(Software Defined Radio). SDR is expected to solve the compatibility problem among various mobile communication standards so that people can use the same device for different wireless network. We integrated the SDR software download process into Jini architecture, and modified Jini's several functions. We implemented this proposed framework on a Linux and windows operating systems with Java programming language. With Java platform, we can easily transfer this framework into hand-held devices.

  • In this paper, we present the model-based autonomic computing framework for a cyber-physical system which provides a self-management and a self-adaptation characteristics. A development process using this framework consists of two phases: a design phase in which a developer models faults, normal status constrains, and goals of the CPS, and an operational phase in which an autonomic computing engine operates monitor-analysis-plan-execute(MAPE) cycle for managed resources of the CPS. We design a hierachical architecture for autonomic computing engines and adopt the Model Reference Adaptive Control(MRAC) as a basic feedback loop model to separate goals and resource management. According to the GroundVehicle example, we demonstrate the effectiveness of the framework.

  • In this paper, a software framework is proposed for the personal robot located on home network. The proposed software framework is divided into four layers-a transparency layer, a behavior layer, a distributed task layer, and a mission scenario layer. The transparency layer consists of a virtual machine for platform transparency, and a communication broker for communication transparency among behavior modules. The communication architecture includes both server/client communication and publisher/subscriber communication. A mission scenario is assumed to be a composition of sequentially planned distributed tasks. In addition to the software framework, a new concept, personal robot design cent...

  • A Systematic Wealth Management Framework (SWMF) was developed as a private banking management tool to enable more integrative personal finance management of personal wealth. It is a reference model that provides an unified framework for development, operation, and management and makes provision for personal financial services in today's complex financial environment. This study suggested some practical results from banks and insurance companies that have established SWMF as the differentiation business strategy for wealthy customers. The focus of this manuscript is on capturing the methodological approach most financial institutions in Korea adopted to execute new e-finance planning and implementation based on the SWMF. The alignment between the wealth management business goals and information system architecture at an organization constitutes the main theoretical basis of the study. Relevant discussions are made on the wealth management framework as a general business model for financial industry, on the functional relationship between new information systems and business organizations. Finally, lessons learned from the SWMF implementation are discussed.

  • The transfer function method is a widely used in the analysis of underwater radiated noise of ships because it is simple to implement and gives a simple way in the design stage requiring trade-off studies on various kinds of noise sources. In this study, a framework is implemented based on the transfer function method. The framework is interfaced to a software providing transfer functions of hull force to underwater radiated noise. The transfer function-based underwater radiated noise analysis approach is reviewed and the implemented framework structure is described. As an example, a numerical calculation of a virtual ship is carried out and its results are investigated in terms of applicability to real ship design project.

  • This article addresses the question of how the operational architecture for a railway safety information system should be developed. A successful railway safety information system can be developed by fully reflecting the business process and needs at the enterprise level. To date, there has been minimal research effort towards the development of the operational architecture for a railway safety information system. To this end, a variety of enterprise architectures have been studied so far. In this paper, as an important guideline, DoDAF (Architecture Framework) is selected to be used in developing a railway safety information system. In particular, we propose a method to implement the operational architecture based on DoDAF.

  • In software engineering, to ensure reliability between systems, describing both system architecture and assurance arguments between system elements is considered necessary. There are proposals for system architecture assurance, but use of these traditional methods often requires development of different diagrams using different editors. Because the visual sense of the traditional methods is inadequate, errors readily occur when manipulating different diagrams. Therefore, it is essential that the assurance of dependability between components and systems is visualized and easy to understand. In this paper, an integrated approach to describe the relationship between system actors and system architecture is proposed, and this approach is clarified using an enterprise architecture modeling language. A case study is carried out and comparison to the traditional approach $d^*$ framework is explained. The comparison results show that the proposed approach is more suitable for ensuring dependability in system architecture.

  • Developers can reuse not only class code but also wide range of knowledge on domain by reusing framework. Existing Object-Oriented Methodology and Catalysis Methodology were presented when redefining component in the course of redesigning framework. However, existing methodologies have weakness that entire process is waterfall mode or design of interface lays too much stress on implementation stage. So, this thesis will present Component-Oriented Methodology for the reuse of framework, and construct the environment for framework and domain development. That is, domain is analyzed by input of domain knowledge on real world to create software based on component, and hotspot is identified through analyzed information, and refactoring by putting additional information on users and developers. After that, I will create domain framework and application framework depending on domain. With this, developer can obtain reusability, easiness and portability by constructing infrastructure environment that allows to register, update and delete component through Component Management System(CMS) under he development environment which can be easily applied to his own application using framework component, in this thesis, CoRBA(Common Object Request Broker Architecture) environment.
