콘크리트내 표면매립보강된 FRP의 내화단열방법과 연단거리에 따른 온도변화 (Temperature Variation Corresponding to the Protection Method and Edge Distance in Near-Surface-Mounted FRP in Concrete with Fire Protection)

  • Recently, the Near-Surface-Mounting method using Fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) has been developed and applied to the reinforcement of many concrete structural members. However, as a part of the fire resistance design, there is a lack of research related to fire insulation for the areas reinforced with FRP. In case of NSM reinforcement, there is a difference in the transferred temperature from the external surface to the groove corresponding to the location of the groove where the FRP is embedded, and the effect of this should be reflected in the fireproof insulation design. Therefore, in this study, after forming grooves for surface embedding in concrete blocks, fireproof insulation reinforcement was performed using Calcium Silicate (CS) fireproof board and an experiment to evaluate the temperature transfer was performed. By observing the temperature at these groove positions, the reduction of temperature transfer according to fireproof insulation detail was studied. As a result, when the NSM-FRP is properly fire-insulated using the CS-based fireproof board, the epoxy inside the groove does not reach its glass transition temperature until the external temperature reaches $800^{\circ}C$.

  • In this study, carbon fiber and coated glass fiber are applied to warp and weft fiber in order to reduce the amount of carbon fiber used in carbon fiber fabrics, which are often used for reinforcement of building structures. A low-cost thermoplastic resin was coated on glass fibers to prepare a shape-stabilizing glass fiber. A unidirectional carbon fiber sheet was manufactured using the prepared coated glass fiber and carbon fiber. In order to identify whether it can be used for reinforcing architectural and civil structures, it was attached to a concrete specimen and its mechanical properties were analyzed. The optimum manufacturing conditions for the coated glass fiber were 0.3 mm in diameter of the coating nozzle, the coating temperature was 190 ℃, and the coating speed was 0.3 m/s. 14 mm was optimal for the weft spacing of the coated glass fiber. The flexural strength of the concrete reinforced with the manufactured unidirectional carbon fiber sheet was slightly lower than that of the concrete reinforced with carbon fiber fabric, but it was confirmed that the reinforcement effect was better when the amount of carbon fiber was considered.

  • The mechanical behavior of granular soils is affected by particle bonding including natural cementation. This study addresses a simple model of small strain stiffness and salt concentration based on wave measurements of salt-cemented particulate media. Published models of artificially cemented soils with different curing methods and several types of cementation agents are reviewed. Glass beads with the median diameter of D50 = 0.5mm are prepared in rectangular cells using the water-pluviated method in salt water with different concentrations. Piezo disk elements and bender elements embedded in the cell are used for the measurements of compressional and shear waves. The relationships between elastic wave velocities and salt concentration show an exponential function. The measured small strain stiffness matches well the predicted small strain stiffness based on micromechanics for simple cubic monosized sphere particles. This study demonstrates that the salt concentration in salt-cemented specimen may be evaluated by using elastic wave velocities.

히로시 스기모토의 사진작품에 드러나는 무한성의 건축적 발현에 대한 연구 (Architectural Manifestation of Hiroshi Sugimoto's Photographic Infinity)

  • The objective of this research is to investigate the artistic meaning of "infinity," manifested by the fourth dimensional value in the genres of photography and architecture, by analyzing how Sugimoto Hiroshi's photographic spatio-temporal infinity transfers to his architectural approaches. The research is initiated by scrutinizing the themes, characteristics, techniques, and artistic meaning of Sugimoto's famous photographic series, including "Seascapes," "Theatres," and "Architecture"; the concept of infinity can be defined as infinite divergence and infinitesimal convergence between antithetical concepts in time, space, and being. Sugimoto's photographic works display "temporal infinity" by connecting ancient times, the present, and the future; "spatial infinity" by offering the potential for transformation from flat photographs into infinite three-dimensional space and fourth-dimensional concepts through time; and "existential infinity" of life and death by making us think about being and essence, being and time, and origin and religion. These perspectives are also used to analyze Sugimoto's architectural works, such as "Appropriate Proportion" and "Glass Tea House Mondrian." As a result, the research finds that in Sugimoto's architectural approaches, spatio-temporal infinity between antithetical values is manifested through the concept of origin, geometric form, extended axis, immaterial threshold, transparent materiality, and connectivity of light and shadow, provoking our existence to transcend into infinity itself.

Mies van der Rohe 건축에서 몸체에 드러남에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Revealing of the Corporality in Mies's Works)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the revealing corporality in Mies' architecture. The character of such technical materials refuses or weakens the physical reality of the wall by the thoughts concerning the unlimited space or continuous space in Modern architecture. The wall or facade revealed visually is substituted to substance without materiality or just disappeared. This causes a problem of perception of architectural form itself in Modern architecture. Leonardo suggested that all kinds of human perception happens within the visibility and touchability. Likewise, the corporality as a visual reality can be perceived as an important and fundamental value, which can measure the real being. In this respect, This study reviews his architectural meaning by tracing the visual reality in his works. Namely, the emphasis of architectural elements through the relief effect, the expression of massiveness through the reflection of the glass wall and the emphasis of the color through the contrast are interpreted in the intention of Mies to emphasize the visual corporality of the building. This study is to reevaluate the meaning of Mies's architecture through understanding of his thought about the architectural corporality, which has been forgotten by the transparency concept of Modern architecture.

  • This study set out to analyze the architectural trends in Bell's works and spaces by applying the Gaze theory of Jacques Lacan to his minimalism works, concept changes in their changing process, and the development of exhibition spaces related to him. The findings were as follows: first, his early glass cube works sought after the reproduction of the Real Order through the repeating eyes of viewers and objects by using exhibition lighting; second, his works in the Standing Wall category pursued the reproduction of the Real Order through the repeating eyes of many different viewers around objects; third, his Nesting Boxes tried to reproduce the Real Order of a higher competition level in the perception aspects, making the repetitive elements of Standing Walls converge and including even external environmental elements; fourth, there is no decisive gaze sought after by Judd or the Key Signifiant as the core of Lacan's philosophy in Bell's formative works; and finally, Bell's works pursue the completion of Simulacrum through the infinite repetition of Derrida's Deconstruction Philosophy through the infinite visual repetition sought after by Gehry and Moss in the LA School of Architects who shared the same area and period with him.

  • 최근 들어 토목섬유를 이용한 아스팔트 포장에 관한 많은 실내실험 및 현장 시험 시공연구가 수행되어 왔으나, 아직까지도 토목섬유 보강 아스팔트 포장 시스템의 경제성에 대한 합리적이고 체계적인 분석이 제시되지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 최근 경제성 분석기법으로 활용되고 있는 수명주기비용분석(LCCA; Life Cycle Cost Analysis)을 적용하여 유리섬유 시트 보강 아스팔트 포장에 대한 중차량 비율을 고려한 교통 특성에 따른 경제성 분석을 시도하였으며, 이를 통하여 기존 문헌에서 제시된 실험 결과를 경제성 분석 모텔에 적용하여 유리섬유 시트 보강 및 교통 특성에 따른 경제성을 검토하였다.

2방향 슬래브의 성능 향상을 위한 집중 배근된 FRP 바의 적용 (Application of Concentrated FRP Bars to Enhance the Capacity of Two-Way Slabs)

  • 철근과 fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP)의 물리적, 역학적 특성의 차이 및 슬래브 상부 보강재의 기둥 인접부 집중 배근, 그리고 기둥 인접부 슬래브에 강섬유 콘크리트 (SFRC)의 타설 등에 따른 2방향 슬래브의 펀칭 전단 거동에 대한 효과를 평가하였다. 펀칭 전단강도, 강성, 연성, 변형률 분포 그리고 균열 제어 성능 등을 파악하였다. 실험 결과 기둥 인접부의 슬래브에 집중 배근을 하거나 SFRC를 타설하는 것은 glass fiber-reinforced polymer (GFRP) 바로 보강된 슬래브의 펀칭 전단 거동을 향상시켰다. 기둥 인접 구역에 집중 배근된 슬래브의 실험 결과를 다양한 설계기준과 타 연구자에 의해 제안된 예측식과 비교하였으며, 집중 배근으로 인한 이점을 예측식에 반영할 수 있도록 집중 배근된 슬래브의 철근비를 산정하는 합리적인 방법도 제안하였다.

  • 막구조물은 코팅된 직물을 주재료로 하는 구조로 연성을 가진 막을 사용하여 외부하중에 대해 안정된 형태를 유지하는 구조물을 말한다. 막에 의한 구조시스템은 대공간 시공이 가능하고 가벼우며 빛을 투과할 수 있는 등 자원 및 관리비용 절감 면에서 많은 이점을 가지고 있어 다양한 용도의 구조물에 적용되며 그 사용용도가 점차 확대되고 있는 실정이다. 하지만 막구조 건축물 및 막재가 다양해짐에도 불구하고 화재안전을 고려한 막재의 성능에 대한 기준은 미비한 실정이며 다양한 용도에 적합한 난연성능이 우수한 막재의 개발이 요구되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 시판되는 건축용 막재인 PTFE, PVDF와 PVF, ETFE 필름 막재의 방염 및 난연성능 시험 등을 통해 건축용 막재의 난연특성을 확인하였다.

CFRP로 보강된 철근콘크리트 휨부재의 내화성능 개선을 위한 실험 (Experiment for the Improvement of Fire Resistance Capacity of Reinforced Concrete Flexural Member Strengthened with Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer)

  • This paper is a study to improve the fire-resistance capacity of reinforced concrete (RC) members strengthened by fiber-reinforced-polymer (FRP). The fire resistance of the RC members strengthened by FRP was evaluated through high temperature exposure test. In order to improve the fire resistance of the FRP reinforcing method, a fire-proof board was attached to the reinforced FRP surface and then the high temperature exposure test was carried out to evaluate the improvement of the fire resistance performance. It was confirmed that the resistance to high temperature of NSMR could be improved somewhat compared with that of EBR from the experiment that exposed to high temperature under the load corresponding to 40% of nominal strength. When 30 mm thick fire-resistance (FR) board is attached to the FRP surface, the surface of the reinforced FRP does not reach $65^{\circ}C$, which is the glass transition temperature (GTT) of the epoxy until the external temperature reaches $480^{\circ}C$. In particular, when a high performance fire-proof mortar was first applied prior to FR board attachment, the FRP portion did not reach the epoxy glass transition temperature until the external temperature reached $600^{\circ}C$.
