Advances in molecular biology contribute to the understanding genetic mechanism of psychiatric disorders. They have renewed hope for the discovery of disease relevant gene. However, the results somewhat confused. And we will wait for a long time for the application of gene therapy in schizophreniar. Fortunately we could classified the schizophrenia with genotypes of dopamine and serotonin receptors. It is expected that this genetic classification could provide key strategy for the therapeutic application in biological treatment for schizophrenia. The purpose of this article is to call attention of the institute participants to linkage, association, mRNA expression, genotypic classification and to the need for more systemic research. The author summarized the modified methods which were done in his laboratory in appendix.

This study was conducted to compare the composition table of Korean food with that of foreign food. Analysis was made for Korean food composition table($5^{th}$ revision), Korean food composition table in Appendix of Recommended Dietary Allowances for Korean(6$^{th}$ th/ edition), Standard tables of food composition in Japan($5^{th}$ revised edition) and USDA Composition of Foods - Raw, Processed, Prepared. The method of content analysis was applied for this study and such differences were pointed out as the classification of food items, food items enlisted, the content unit of food and food components presented etc. To improve Korean food composition table, new food items and components should be added and old food items be eliminated based on the change of people's food consumption pattern. Also analysis for the domestic foods consumed by local people should be accomplished rather than borrowing foreign country's data.

Developed and conducted a performance test of the Water mist system that is satisfied with the requirement of a fire test requiring Class 3 Engine Mock-up exceeding net volume $3,000m^3$ as per IMO's MSC/Circ. 668 Appendix B(Test method for fire testing equivalent water-based fire-extinguishing systems for machinery spaces of category A and cargo pump rooms).Even though fuel atomizing was continued for 15 sec. after stopping of the system according to the test method relating to the atomizing fire type, no fire was reignited. This result shows the excellence of the system. There was no damage to the contents of the system after the test.

A laryngocele is relatively uncommon disease, and it has abnormal dilatation of the laryngeal saccule or appendix of laryngeal ventricle. Etiology and pathogenesis of laryngocele has still dabated, but laryngocele has high relationship with glass blower, wind instrument player, chronic cough, laryngeal cancer, etc. We have experienced an unusual case of laryngocele combined with laryngeal carcinoma. We discuss the relationship of laryngocele and laryngeal carcinoma, and the current literature is reviewed.

This paper deals with the estimation of limiting distribution parameters, which have a close relation with product reliability characteristics in reliability test. Among the many kinds of estimation methods, probability paper is commonly used. The limiting probability paper is very convenient, but it has a great disadvantage in estimation accuracy by plotting method. It is very difficult to get the same results even if one use the same data several times. A computer program for the regression method is used for the parameter estimation to reduce these errors. Especially, the computer graphic program was written in GW-BASIC 3.22 language and a couple of running examples for user's reference appears in the appendix part.

In these days, the PCs are widely used in the mid-level factory. But they have low-effectiveness for using them. The main reason should be the lack of useful and practical software in the market. This Case study aimed at the support of the software using DB Language to get M/M chart for aquiring work study and standard time data in the mid-level factory having multi-item and multi-process type. CVA (Chronocycle Video Analysis) is applied to get basic standard time data and working list. Standard time, Sequence of working and allowance time or rate for man and machine will be readily obtained through the menu when the software executing. Detailed program list is systematically shown in Appendix.

An assessment of creep-fatigue crack behavior is required to ensure the structural integrity for high temperature components such as fast breeder reactor structures or thermal power plant components operating at an elevated temperature. In this study, an evaluation of creep-fatigue crack growth has been carried out according to the French assessment guide of the RCC-MR A16 for austenitic stainless steel structures. The assessment procedures for creep-fatigue crack growth in the recent version of the A16 (2007 edition) have been changed considerably from the previous version (2002 edition) and the material properties (RCC-MR Appendix A3) have been changed as well. The impacts of those changes on creep-fatigue crack growth behavior are quantified from the assessments with a structural model. Finally the assessment results were compared with the observed images obtained from the structural tests of the same structural specimen.

The main aim of this paper is to present some results related to asymptotic behavior of distribution functions of random variables of chi-square type $X^2_N={\Sigma}^N_{i=1}\;X^2_i$ with degrees of freedom N, where N is a positive integer-valued random variable independent on all standard normally distributed random variables $X_i$. Two ways for computing the distribution functions of chi-square type random variables with random degrees of freedom are considered. Moreover, some tables concerning considered distribution functions are demonstrated in Appendix.

본 논문에서는 초음파 검사자가 효율적으로 충수염을 진단할 수 있도록 하기 위하여 초음파 영상에서 충수를 추출하는 방법을 제안한다. 충수를 추출하는 과정은 초음파 영상에서 Ends_in Search Stretching 기법을 적용하여 명암 대비를 강조하고, Max-Min 이진화, 영역 레이블링, 잡음 제거, Cubic Spline 보간법을 적용하여 복부 근육의 하단 근막 부분을 추출한다. 초음파 영상에서 추출된 근막 영역을 제거한 후, K-Means 클러스터링과 영역 레이블링을 적용하여 충수 영역을 추출한다. 제안된 방법을 초음파 영상을 대상으로 실험한 결과, 충수염을 진단하기에 적합한 충수 영역이 추출되는 것을 영상의학과 전문의를 통하여 확인하였다.

Optimization methods are presented for design of shells and spatial structures. The effectiveness of using optimization techniques are demonstrated by the following examples: 1. Shape design of ribbed shells. 2. Shape design of membrane structures. 3. Optimization of single-layer spatial truss against buckling. 4. Application of heuristic methods to optimization of space frames. The readers may first see the numerical results to find that is possible by optimization. In the appendix, overview of structural optimization in architectural design is presented, and effectiveness of optimization is demonstrated by small examples. Each chapter is a part of a published paper, or translation from a Japanese article. So there might be some difficulties for understanding the details: inconsistency of the story, etc., which the author hope not to lead to major difficulties for understanding the concepts and results.
