Lie Detection Technique using Video from the Ratio of Change in the Appearance

  • Lying is nuisance to all, and all liars knows it is nuisance but still keep on lying. Sometime people are in confusion how to escape from or how to detect the liar when they lie. In this research we are aiming to establish a dynamic platform to identify liar by using video analysis especially by calculating the ratio of changes in their appearance when they lie. The platform will be developed using a machine learning algorithm along with the dynamic classifier to classify the liar. For the experimental analysis the dataset to be processed in two dimensions (people lying and people tell truth). Both parameter of facial appearance will be stored for future identification. Similarly, there will be standard parameter to be built for true speaker and liar. We hope this standard parameter will be able to diagnosed a liar without a pre-captured data.

  • The learning, which is an extended concept from the concept of continuos improvement and replace it, has become a very important core concept in Malcom Baldridge National Quality Award these days. The most potent core value among 11 core values is 'organizational and personal learning' Embedded learning in the organization is also a critical part to get a high score in approach scoring criteria for 6 categories except results category. But the concept of learning is often overlooked for the people who have interests in MB award or TQM. This paper review and analyze the concept of learning which has appeared In MB criteria since it's first appearance.

통계학적 학습을 이용한 머리와 어깨선의 위치 찾기 (Localizing Head and Shoulder Line Using Statistical Learning)

  • 영상에서 사람의 머리위치를 찾는 문제에 있어서 어깨선 정보를 이용하는 것은 아주 유용하다. 영상에서 머리 외곽선과 어깨선의 형태는 일정한 변형을 유지하면서 같이 움직이므로 이를 ASM(Active Shape Model) 기법을 사용해서 통계적으로 모델링 할 수 있다. 그러나 ASM 모델은 국부적인 에지나 그래디언트에 의존하므로 배경 에지나 클러터 성분에 민감하다. 한편 AAM(Active Appearance Model) 모델은 텍스쳐 등을 이용하지만, 사람의 피부색, 머리색깔, 옷 색깔 등의 차이로 인해서 통계적인 학습방법을 쓰기가 어렵고, 전체 비디오에서 외모(Appearance)가 시간적으로 변한다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 외모(Apperance) 모델을 변화에 따라 바꾸는 대신, 영상의 각 화소를 머리, 어깨, 배경으로 구분하는 분별적 외모 모델(discriminative appearance)를 사용한다. 실험을 통해서 제안된 방법이 기존의 기법에 비해서 포즈변화와 가려짐, 조명의 변화 등에 강인함을 보여준다. 또한 제안된 기법은 실시간으로 작동하는 장점 또한 가진다.

  • 본 논문에서는 곤충 종의 외관구조인 머리, 몸통, 날개, 다리에 대한 관찰자의 일반적이고 수평적인 관찰특성에 따라 자유롭게 곤충 종을 관찰함으로써 관찰 곤충 검색엔진에서의 사용자 만족도 제고와 보다 효율적인 관찰학습의 방법을 제안한다. 자연생태 환경에서 초보 학습자의 효율적인 관찰검색과 효과적 학습을 위해서는 생물학적 분류체계가 아닌 곤충 종의 외관구조 즉, 외부 신체구조의 모양과 특성 중심의 곤충관찰 기반의 검색(Insect Search by Observation based on Insect Appearance: ISOIA)이 필요하다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 곤충의 외관구조인 머리, 몸통, 날개, 다리에 대한 관찰자의 일반적인 관찰방법에 따른ISOIA 검색방식을 제안하고, 기존의 ISBC와 ISOBC 검색체계에 대한 사용 만족도를 비교 분석하여 본 논문에서 제안하는 ISOIA 검색 방안이 우수함을 보이고자 한다.

Semi-Supervised Learning Based Anomaly Detection for License Plate OCR in Real Time Video

  • Recently, the license plate OCR system has been commercialized in a variety of fields and preferred utilizing low-cost embedded systems using only cameras. This system has a high recognition rate of about 98% or more for the environments such as parking lots where non-vehicle is restricted; however, the environments where non-vehicle objects are not restricted, the recognition rate is about 50% to 70%. This low performance is due to the changes in the environment by non-vehicle objects in real-time situations that occur anomaly data which is similar to the license plates. In this paper, we implement the appropriate anomaly detection based on semi-supervised learning for the license plate OCR system in the real-time environment where the appearance of non-vehicle objects is not restricted. In the experiment, we compare systems which anomaly detection is not implemented in the preceding research with the proposed system in this paper. As a result, the systems which anomaly detection is not implemented had a recognition rate of 77%; however, the systems with the semi-supervised learning based on anomaly detection had 88% of recognition rate. Using the techniques of anomaly detection based on the semi-supervised learning was effective in detecting anomaly data and it was helpful to improve the recognition rate of real-time situations.

  • 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 기술은 유비쿼터스 학습 즉 u-러닝의 출현을 이끌며 미래 학교 교육의 개선 방향으로 제시되고 있다. 유비쿼터스 학습 환경에서는 우선 사용자들이 언제 어디서나 학습을 위해 다양한 내장형 컴퓨터들을 활용할 수 있도록 이러한 기기들을 도처에 편재시키고 네트워크를 통한 상호작용을 지원하는 것이다. 다음 단계는 지능적인 학습 서비스를 지원하는 것으로, 상황 정보를 이해하고 이를 공유하도록 상황 지식과 상황 추론이 가능한 상황 인식 서비스를 도입하는 것이다. 그러나 아직까지 실제 학교를 대상으로 상황 인식 서비스를 지원하기 위한 온톨로지 상황 모델 설계 및 적용에 대한 연구결과는 미비한 상태이다, 이에 본 논문은 상황 인식 기반의 유비쿼터스 학습 서비스를 지원하기 위해, 기존 LAN 환경에서 이루어지는 학교 네트워크를 대상으로 USN을 활용한 유비쿼터스 학습 공간을 제안하고, OWL을 사용해 유비쿼터스학교 환경에대한온톨로지기반의상황모델을설계한다. 또한제안한유비쿼터스학습공간과온톨로지상황모델이 유비쿼터스 학습 환경에 적합함을 확인하기 위해 유비쿼터스 환경에서의 상황 인식 학습 서비스들을 구현한다.

신경회로망과 수학적 방정식을 이용한 최적의 용입깊이 예측에 관한 연구 (A Study on Prediction of Optimized Penetration Using the Neural Network and Empirical models)

  • Adaptive control in the robotic GMA(Gas Metal Arc) welding is employed to monitor the information about weld characteristics and process paramters as well as modification of those parameters to hold weld quality within the acceptable limits. Typical characteristics are the bead geometry composition micrrostructure appearance and process parameters which govern the quality of the final weld. The main objectives of this paper are to realize the mapping characteristicso f penetration through the learning. After learning the neural network can predict the pene-traition desired from the learning mapping characteristic. The design parameters of the neural network estimator(the number of hidden layers and the number of nodes in a layer) were chosen from an error analysis. partial-penetration single-pass bead-on-plate welds were fabricated in 12mm mild steel plates in order to verify the performance of the neural network estimator. The experimental results show that the proposed neural network estimator can predict the penetration with reasonable accuracy and gurarantee the uniform weld quality.

로봇 GMA용접에 최적의 비드폭 예측 시스템 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on Development of System for Prediction of the Optimal Bead Width on Robotic GMA Welding)

  • An adaptive control in the robotic GMA welding is employed to monitor information about weld characteristics and process parameters as well as to modify those parameters to hold weld quality within acceptable limits. Typical characteristics are the bead geometry, composition, microstructure, appearance, and process parameters which govern the quality of the final weld. The main objectives of this thesis are to realize the mapping characteristics of bead width through learning. After learning, the neural estimation can estimate the bead width desired form the learning mapping characteristic. The design parameters of the neural network estimator(the number of hidden layers and the number of nodes in a layer) are chosen from an estimation error analysis. A series of bead of bead-on-plate GMA welding experiments was carried out in order to verify the performance of the neural network estimator. The experimental results show that the proposed neural network estimator can predict the bead width with reasonable accuracy and guarantee the uniform weld quality.

An Efficient Vision-based Object Detection and Tracking using Online Learning

  • In this paper, we propose a vision-based object detection and tracking system using online learning. The proposed system adopts a feature point-based method for tracking a series of inter-frame movement of a newly detected object, to estimate rapidly and toughness. At the same time, it trains the detector for the object being tracked online. Temporarily using the result of the failure detector to the object, it initializes the tracker back tracks to enable the robust tracking. In particular, it reduced the processing time by improving the method of updating the appearance models of the objects to increase the tracking performance of the system. Using a data set obtained in a variety of settings, we evaluate the performance of the proposed system in terms of processing time.

  • There has been a study about the effective multimedia education using a computer following the appearance of a virtual space. Also, there has been an effort to connect the information & communication technology with education. The popular on-line lecture systems are mostly on English lecture sites. However, they just offer the VOD(Video On Demand) services ignoring students' convenience. To improve these week points, we design and implement the multimedia leaching system focusing on an efficient repeat-effect in order that students can control the Media Player by clicking a sentence on a web page. This paper presents the Editor and Player considering students' interest and the effective learning fruits. So users can easily make multimedia materials and use them to improve their English listening skill.
