Three heterotrophic euglenids from marine water column (Seodo port, Yeosu) and freshwater sediment (Seodong-chun, Incheon), Korea were identified as Entosiphon oblongum Cavalier-Smith and Vickerman, 2016; Euglena longa (Pringsheim, 1936) Marin and Melkonian, 2003; and Keelungia pulex Chan and Moestrup, 2013 based on morphological characters and 18S rDNA sequence analysis. These species are reported taxonomically for the first time from Korea and are described with micrographs. Diagnoses of these species are as follows. Entosiphon oblongum: phagotrophic, gliding, size in vivo, 23.1-29.3 ㎛ (Avg. 26.5 ㎛, n=30) long, ovate with a protrusive feeding siphon (apparatus), several deep grooves and two heterodynamic flagella. Euglena longa: osmotrophic, swimming, size in vivo, 32.3-52.2 ㎛ (Avg. 42.2 ㎛, n=26) long, elongated with many paramylum granules and two flagellar. Keelungia pulex: phagotrophic, gliding, size in vivo, 13.5-19.7 ㎛(Avg. 16.4 ㎛, n=97) long, oblong to ovoid with a hook-shaped ingestion apparatus, several dorsal ridges and two flagella.

Barlow's disease with mitral annular calcification encompassing the subvalvular apparatus, including the valve leaflet and chordae, is extremely rare, and mitral valve repair in such cases is challenging. We report a case of a 60-year-old woman with mitral valve regurgitation that was successfully controlled by resecting the rough zone of P2 and calcifications on the excess leaflet regions and subvalvular apparatus, while retaining the calcification of P3 and implanting artificial chordae and an annuloplasty ring. Mitral valve repair for such cases requires an individualized and compounded surgical strategy for the technique to treat Barlow's disease and manage calcification to control mitral regurgitation.

The test apparatus that can be protected from the high-temperature combustion flame and coolant injection was successfully manufactured. In this study, the coolant-injection module had a controllable consistent pressure, and the entire combustion module was protected using a nonflammable composite liner. Every flange was designed in accordance with the DIN standard, and the entire body of the module was designed in accordance with the EN 13445 code. Additionally, the hydraulic pressure test was performed in accordance with the 2014/68/EU directive and EN 13445 standard. Finally, after manufacturing, performance tests (such as pressure tests) were conducted to verify the reliability and safety.

A regression formula including the inlet film thickness as the parameter for the starvation factor in EHL condition is obtained by numerical analysis with Elord‘s cavitation algorithm. In addition, an apparatus for starved film thickness measurement by use of the white light interferometry is developed in order to verify the proposed regression formula. From observation results by this apparatus, the proposed regression formula can predict the reduction of central film thickness caused by starvation in a ball-plate contact with an uncertainty up to 10%

In a room air conditioning cooling system, if the room-sensible-heat-factor as plotted on a Psychrometric Chart intersects the saturation curve below the apparatus leaving air dewpoint, reheat must be used to maintain the design room air conditions. However, if the design room humidity is permitted to be raised to some degree, the cooling system will not require reheat as a new room-sensible-heat-factor line is developed between the apparatus leaving air dew-Point and the adjusted design room air conddition point. The advantages to this are the cost of reheat equipment and operation can be avoided. The cycle of this system can be shown on a Psychrometric Chart to plot the design condition points.

This paper is to scrutinize Jean Rhys' Wide Sargasso Sea through a Marxist criticism. While critics were industriously excavating discourses of feminism, post-colonialism, and racism in the novel, they tended to regard the Marxist attribute as supplementary material and to diminish the significance not considering as an independent subject to be examined. However, the novel, in which all the major relationships are based on capital, exemplifies class conflict between the bourgeois and the proletariat. Marx and Engels believe that the foundation of our society is capital and that society evolves through class conflict to obtain more capital, and thus they assert people's relations are the product of the commodification of individuals. Furthering their study, Louis Althusser specifies the power system through the (repressive) state apparatus and the ideological state apparatus. With the theories of the thinkers' above, this paper analyzes the relationship between Annette and Mason, Antoinette and her nameless husband, allegedly Rochester, Rochester and Amelie, and Rochester and Daniel Cosway. This paper offers an alternative reading of a classical feminist and post-colonial text.

Cosmic reionization imprints its history on the sky map of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) polarization. Even though mild, the signature of the reionization history during its early phase (z>15) can also impact the CMB polarization. We forecast the observational capability of the LiteBIRD(Lite(Light) satellite for the studies of B-mode polarization and Inflation from cosmic background Radiation Detection), a truly cosmic-variance limited apparatus. We focus on the capability for such an apparatus to probe the partial optical depth of the CMB photons during z>15. We show that LiteBIRD is able to probe this quantity with a modest to high significance, enabling one to tell how efficient the cosmic reionization and star formation were at z>15.
