The purpose of this study is to analyze the immediate effects of five toed shoes on foot structure. Subjects consisted of 26 college-aged women with pes planus. X-ray analysis of student feet were performed both barefooted and with five toed shoes. Dependent variables were hallux valgus angle, calcaneal inclination angle, 1st metatarsal declination angle, and intermetartarsal angle. Independent t-test was used for statistical analysis along with SAS. Overall, there were statistically significant changes of test subject's dependent variables when wearing five toed shoes. Specifically, the hallux valgus angle decreased, the calcaneal inclination angle and 1st metatarsal inclination angle increased, and intermetatasal angles both increased and decreased, shifting towards normal range. In every case the dependent variables shifted towards a more normal range while subjects wore five toed shoes. This study only examined the immediate corrective effects of five toed shoes on foot structure, but long-term studies are needed to understand the prolonged effects of five toed shoes on foot structure.
This paper presents an optimal initial firing angle control based on the energy consumption and regenerative energy of a parallel multi-pulse thyristor dual converter for urban railway power substations. To prevent short circuiting the thyristor dual converter, a hysteresis band for maintaining a zero-current discontinuous section (ZCDS) is essential during mode changes. During conversion from the ZCDS to forward or reverse mode, the DC trolley voltage can be stabilized by selecting the optimal initial firing angle without an overshoot and slow response. However, the optimal initial firing angle is different depending on the line impedance of each converter. Therefore, the control algorithm for tracking the optimal initial firing angle is proposed to eliminate the overshoot and slow response of DC trolley voltage. Simulations and experiments show that the proposed algorithm yields the fastest DC voltage control performance in the transient state by tracking the optimal firing angle.

This study shows how the change of helix angle of different helix angle end mill affects machining accurracy. It was verified that cutting force are remarkably low when endmill has helix angle of different helix angle 250, 310, 370 and AE signal have less reationshap with the change of helix angle. Moreover, as the number of rotations are increases, the AE signal increased with the proportion to the number but cutting force are inversely proportional to the rotation.

The objective of this research is to investigate the effect of clearance angle on cutting performance in high speed end milling operation. The tool geometry parameters have complex relationship with cutting process parameter. In order to explain the effect of clearance angle, 2D turning operation in lathe and end milling operations are performed. Tools with different clearance angles are manufactured. Cutting forces, machining accuracy and tool life are examined according to the change of clearance angle. As clearance angle increases, cutting force decreases and machining accuracy improves. But it has been proved that there exists the optimal clearance angle according to the diameter of end mill for maximum tool life which is measured by frank wear.
This study performed finite element analysis on the pipe bend with various bend angles under loading conditions of internal pressure and combined pressure and bending, to investigate the effect of bend angle on the collapse behavior of pipe bend and on the stress state in the bend region. In the analysis, the pipe bends with bend angle of $5\~90^{\circ}$ were considered, and the bending moment was applied as in-plane closing and opening modes. From the results of analysis, it was found that the collapse moment of pipe bend increases with decreasing bend angle. As the bend angle decreases, also, the equivalent stress at intrados region increases regardless of bending mode. Under closing mode bending especially, the increase in stress at intrados is significant so that the maximum stress region moves from crown to intrados with decreasing bend angle.
A Hew way of contact angle measurement is derived based on simple geometrical calculation. Without using complicated contact angle measurement instrument. Just measuring the diameter and height of liquid lens made it possible to calculate the contact angle value with a reasonable reliability. To validate the contact angle value obtained by this method, contact angle of the same liquid lens is measured using conventional goniometer and it is verified that two values are nearly same within the limit of observational error.
PV system output is determined according to the weather conditions, the azimuth and tilt angle. Weather conditions are changing every moment and it seems to vary according to the daily, monthly, and annual basis. The azimuth and tilt angle is decided along the site conditions for the PV system installation. This paper analyzed the PV system output through the changing the weather conditions, the azimuth, and tilt angle. We compared the TMY data and analysis of the two major weather institutes which are KMA and METEONORM. PV system output trend were analyzed by changing the azimuth and tilt angle. We used simulation tool, which is named PVsyst for the entire PV system analysis.
The nonlinear dependence aspect of various conical tool indentation parameters leading to an optimum tool semi angle value for easiest perforation is plotted and discussed explicitly in this work with the conclusion that tool angle has an optimum response towards most of the indentation parameters. Around this optimum angle, the aluminium sheets showed minimum fracture toughness as well as minimum work input to overcome the offered resistance. At the end, the mechanism leading to this phenomenon is presented with the conclusion that plastic flow dominates as the dimple semi cone angle reaches 35 and both pre and post plastic flow perforations lead the tool semi cone angle value towards this dimple cone semi angle of plastic flow initiation for its optimum performance. It is also concluded that specimen material failure is solely under tensile hoop stress and hence results into radial cracks initiation and propagation.

We investigated the generation of high pretilt angle for nematic liquid crystal (NLC) in a cell with obilique non-polarized ultraviolet (UV) light irradiation on mixtured polyimide surface. It was found that the monodomain alignment of NLC is obtained with an angle of incidence of 75∼85 degrees on PI surface. We consider that the monodomain alignment of NLC is attributed to anisotropic dispersion force effect to photo-depolymerization of polymer. We successfully observed that the pretilt angle of NLC is generated above 5 degree with an angle of incidence of 75∼85 degrees. It is considered that the pretilt angle generation NLC is attributed to interaction between the LC molecules and the polymer surfaces.
