Strategic Diagnosis on the Dynamics of the Regional Technology Commercialization Ecosystem (기술사업화 생태계의 동태성에 대한 전략적 진단)

  • This study aims to develop strategic diagnosis framework of performance by identifying and analysing the dynamics of the technology commercialization ecosystem in innovative region. To achieve the purpose of this study, the systems thinking approach is used. The systems thinking approach connects feedback structure and behavior more explicitly to diagnosis vicious feedback loop in the regional technology commercialization ecosystem. In terms of an ecological point of view, it will be possible to explore dominant feedback structure and find leverages to overcome the limitations of regional technology commercialization performance. The diagnosis of reenforcing and balancing feedback structure is based on the statistical analysis of the survey data which has been collected in a cluster random sampling method, targeting on the 200 firm located in the Pangyo and Daeduk region. The results from this research showed that the regional technology commercialization ecosystem was immature and faced limit to the growth. An important finding of this study was that regional technology commercialization ecosystem need to activation of startups and reinforcement of virtuous feedback structures of technology commercialization market systems.

  • To evaluate the dynamic characteristics of machine tool system, the system is modelled as a closed-loop system composed of cutting process and improved machine tool structures. The proposed machine tool structure model is constructed in consideration of energy transfer through the system. A new methodology to identify the machine tool dynamics by adopting impulse response and impulse cutting techniques is also proposed. It is shown that the methodology is successfully applied to a machine tool system to identify its dynamic characteristics employing the improved model.

  • In this paper, the dynamics of automated guideway transit vehicles with rubber tires are studied. Two different AGT models are considered: the bogie system and the steering system . It is found that the bogie system is stable at all possible operating speeds, whereas it is not true fur the steering system. To investigate the dynamic stability of steering systems, the critical speeds are investigated and the dynamics of the closed-loop steering control system are numerically simulated.

  • A functional suspension model is proposed as a kinematic describing function of the suspension, that represents the relative wheel displacement in polynomial form in terms of the vertical displacement of the wheel center and steering rack displacement. The relative velocity and acceleration of the wheel is represented in terms of first and second derivatives of the kinematic describing function. The system equations of motion for the full vehicle dynamic model are systematically derived by using velocity transformation method of multi-body dynamics. The comparison of test and simulation results demonstrates the validity of the proposed functional suspension modeling method. The model is computationally very efficient to achieve real-time simulation on TMS 320C6711 150 MHz DSP board of HILS (hardware-in-the-loop simulation) system for ECU (electronic control unit) evaluation of semi-active suspension.

  • Many physical systems today are modeled by interacting continuous and discrete states that influence the dynamic behavior. Hybrid system models, suitable for describing the essential dynamics of a fairly large class of physical systems in control engineering applications, contain both continuous dynamics and discrete dynamics. We discuss the design of efficient hybrid controllers for the platoon maneuvers on an AHS. For the modeling of a hybrid system including the merge and split operations, we introduce the safety distance policy for the merge and split operations.   • In this paper, a methodology for designing a controller based on inverse dynamics for speed control of DC motors is presented. The proposed controller consists of a prefilter, the inverse dynamic model of a system and the PI controller. The prefilter prevents high frequency effects from the inverse dynamic model. The model of the system in characterized by a nonlinear equation with coulomb friction. The PI controller regulates the error between the set-point and the system output which may be caused by modeling error, variations of parameters and disturbances. The output which may be caused by modeling error, variations of parameters and disturbances. The parameters of the model and the PI controller are adjusted offlinely by a genetic algorithm. An experimental work on a DC motor system is carried out to illustrate the performance of the proposed controller.

  • In this paper. feedback linearization and the sliding mode control(SMC) are used together for uncertain nonlinear system. An advantage of feedback linearization technique is to make linear control theories can be used for nonlinear system and the SMC have the robustness. But the dynamics of the SMC has the dynamics lower order than that of the original system. Therefore the linear control theory can not be used with the SMC. The novel sliding surface of the SMC can have the dynamics of the nominal non linear system controlled by the feedback linearization. The proposed method can be used for the control of induction motors.

  • The intent of this study is to develop system dynamics model for assessment of organizational and human factors in nuclear power plant which can contribute to secure the nuclear safety. Previous studies are classified into two major approaches. One is engineering approach such as ergonomics and probability safety assessment(PSA). The other is social science approach such like sociology, organization theory and psychology. Both have contributed to find organization and human factors and to present guideline to lessen human error in NPP. But, since these methodologies assume that relationship among factors is independent they don't explain the interactions among factors or variables in NPP. To overcome these limits, we have developed system dynamics model which can show cause and effect among factors and quantify organizational and human factors. The model we developed is composed of 16 functions of job process in nuclear power, and shows interactions among various factors which affects employees' productivity and job quality. Handling variables such like degree of leadership, adjustment of number of employee, and workload in each department, users can simulate various situations in nuclear power plant in the organization side. Through simulation, user can get insight to improve safety in plants and to find managerial tools in the organization and human side. Analyzing pattern of variables, users can get knowledge of their organization structure, and understand stands of other departments or employees. Ultimately they can build learning organization to secure optimal safety in nuclear power plant.

A Dynamic Analysis on the Relative Effectiveness of Promoting Policies for Information Security Industry (정보보호 산업 육성정책의 상대적 효과 분석)

  • The focus of this paper is comparing relative effects of government policies for upbringing information security industry from the dynamic point of view. For the purpose of simplicity, these policies are classified into three groups, and then the relative effectiveness of these policy groups is examined using System Dynamics. The three policy groups are composed of technology development policies (TDP), human resource development policies (HDP), and direct supporting policies for overseas expansion (DSP). From the result of the analysis, DSP appears to be the most effective and HDP is the second-best group. By the way, for successful carrying into effect of DSP, marketing manpower should be strengthen. However, current HDP has been focusing on the bringing up technical experts. Therefore, overseas marketing manpower should be reared as well as technicians. Also, the existing infrastructure for overseas expansion for other industries should be shared for DSP of information security industry, because this is essential for success of DSP in terms of timing and costing. Finally, in spite of its low effect, TDP should be maintained continuously. The importance of information security technology is increasing and some countries have already considered these technologies as a core of future national defense. Therefore, we should acquire the competitiveness for a few technologies through continuous development of selected technologies at least.

  • This article deals with the transient analysis using multi-flexible body dynamics of a trailer vehicle, which is passing a bump on the flat road. In order to investigate the transient dynamic behavior of the trailer, we developed an equivalent finite element model for the trailer and a vehicle dynamic model for the truck using multi-body dynamics. The driving condition considered here is set as the trailer vehicle passes a bump on the flat road in 7km/h. And we investigate the time histories of vertical load and deflections on connecting points between the trailer and truck during the vehicle passes a bump. Due to the dynamic load resulted from the driving condition, additional stress concentrations are found in the trailer and the suspension connecting points between the trailer and rear axles along with kingpin.
