Adventitious root growth inhibition in boron-deficient or aluminum-stressed sunflower seedlings

  • Sunflower(Helianthus annuus L.) seedings were de-rooted and grown in nutrient solutions providing either deficient or sufficient boron supply and supplemented with aluminum. Increasing concentrations of aluminum in the nutrient medium caused progressive inhibition of root growth and a parallel increase in proline level of roots. Elevated boron levels improved root growth under toxic aluminum conditions and produced higher proline contents. Exogenous ascorbate improved adventitions root growth in plants supplied with insufficient boron and aluminum. These findings suggest that root growth inhibition resulting from either boron deficiency or aluminum toxicity may be a result of impaired ascorbate metabolism.

  • 알루미늄슬러리 연료 제조 시 알루미늄의 분산안정성에 미치는 공정변수의 영향을 조사하였다. 알루미늄슬러리연료의 분산안정성은 Laser의 산란 현상을 이용하여 물질의 분산 안정성을 파악하는 Turbiscan을 이용하여 확인하였다. 여러 종류의 첨가제 적용시 시간 경과에 따른 입자 크기 및 농도 변화를 측정한 결과, TPAB (Tetrapropyl ammonium bromide) 사용시 다른 첨가제보다 좋은 결과를 나타내었다.

ECR-플라즈마 화학 증착된 알루미늄 산화막 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Aluminum Oxide Thin Films Prepared by ECR-PECVD)

  • Aluminum oxide thin films were deposited on p-type(100) silicon substrates by electron cyclotron resonance plasma enhanced CVD(ECR-PECVD) using TMA[Al(CH3)3] and oxygen as reactant gases at 16$0^{\circ}C$ or lower temperatures. The aluminum oxide films deposited by ECR-PECVD have the amorphous structure with the refractive index of 1.62~1.64 and the O/Al ratio of 1.6~1.7. Oxygen flow rate necessary for the stable deposition of the aluminum oxide films increases as the deposition temperature increases. It was found from the OES analysis that the ECR plasma had les cooling effect by introducing the TMA reactant gas in comparison with the RF plasma. The properties of aluminum oxide films prepared by ECR-PECVD were compared with those prepared by RF-PECVD. The ECR-PECVD aluminum oxide films have the higher refractive indices, the lower contents of impurities (H and C) and the stronger wet etch resistance than those deposited by RF-PECVD.

알루미늄 화합물이 흰쥐의 뇌조직에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Aluminum Compound on the Brain Histologial Change of Rats)

  • This study was performed to investigate the effect of aluminum compound on the aluminum contents and histological change in brain tissue of rats. Seventy five male Sprague-Dawley strains were divided into five groups consisting of the control, 250 ppm $AlCl_3$ group, 500 ppm $AlCl_3$ group, 250 ppm $Al_2(SO_4)_3$ group, 500 ppm $Al_2(SO_4)_3$ group and kept on the diet for 2 weeks. The weight gain was increased by administration of $AlCl_3$ but decreased by administration of $Al_2(SO_4)_3$ as compared to control group. The aluminum contents in brain tissue of each group; 250 ppm $AlCl_3$ group, 500 ppm $AlCl_3$ group, 250 ppm $Al_2(SO_4)_3$ group and 500 ppm $Al_2(SO_4)_3$ group were 64.63, 102.21, 132.64 and 180.41 ppm, respectively. Aluminum accumulation in brain tissue was higher with administration of $Al_2(SO_4)_3$ than with administration of $AlCl_3$. In $AlCl_3$ administration group, multiple small intracytoplasmic granules and microvacuole were seen in large pyramidal cells of cortex and granulovacuolar degeneration. In $Al_2(SO_4)_3$ administration group revealed pollagis pallor, cellular pyknosis, microcavitation resulted from edema in deeper cortical layers were observed. Blue-pigmentation which represents the accumulation of aluminum was noted In granulovacuolar degeneration site in $Al_2(SO_4)_3$ administration group.

밀가루 식품의 알루미늄 함량 (Aluminum Contents in Wheat Flour Foods)

  • 베이킹파우더, 등급별 밀가루 및 몇 가지 밀가루 가공식품에 대한 알루미늄 함량을 조사하고자 $HNO_3:HClO_4(v/v,\;2:1)$ 혼산으로 분해하여 원자흡수분광광도법으로 분석하였다. 원료와 가공식품들의 알루미늄 함량은 베이킹파우더는 $1910{\sim}1948mg/100g$, 중력분은 8.5mg/100g, 강력분 박력분은 각각 10.8 mg/100g, 11.0 mg/100g이며 국수는 $29.7{\sim}58.5mg/100g$, 라면은 $63.0{\sim}80.0mg/100g$, 당면은 $33.1{\sim}46.3mg/100g$, 냉면이 $37.8{\sim}49.9mg/100g$, 비스켓과 스낵은 $15.3{\sim}19.2mg/100g$, $22.5{\sim}56.4mg/100g$ 범위였다. 밀가루 식품중의 알루미늄 함량은 동일 식품이더라도 제조회사에 따라서 함량차이를 인정할 수 있었다(p<0.01).

  • Authors investigated the analyse trace elements in vegetables and Ginseng which indicated as follows: 1. Garlic, ginger, and onion has considerably large amounts of magnesium, garlic has in proper sequence as copper, aluminum, magnesium, bromine and mercury. Ginseng has in proper sequence as aluminum, magnesium, copper, bromine and mercury, and onion has in proper sequence as copper, manganese, aluminum, bromine and mercury. 2. Carrot has considerably large amounts of magnesium and has in proper sequence as copper, magnesium, aluminum, bromine and mercury. 3. Ginseng also has large amounts of magnesium and has in proper sequence as magnesium, aluminum, copper, bromine, and mercury.

분무 건조 알루미늄 실리케이트 과립 분말 제조를 위한 슬러리 최적화 연구 (Optimization of slurry for manufacturing spray-dried aluminum silicate granular powder)

  • 본 연구는 공침법을 통하여 비정질 알루미늄 실리케이트 분말을 제조하였으며, 슬러리의 알루미늄 실리케이트 분말 함량 및 분산제 첨가량을 조절하여, 슬러리의 특성에 따른 분무 건조 알루미늄 실리케이트 과립 분말 제조의 영향 분석 및 최적화 연구를 진행하였다. 연구 결과, 알루미늄 실리케이트 슬러리의 분말 함량 27.5 wt% 이하, 슬러리의 분산제 첨가량 0.8 wt% 이상, pH 6~9의 중성 분위기의 슬러리에서 안정적으로 과립 분말이 제조되었으며, 슬러리의 분말 함량 20, 22.5 wt%에서 과립 분말의 평균 입도는 약 14 ㎛, 슬러리의 분말 함량 25, 27.5 wt%에서 과립 분말의 평균 입도가 약 19 ㎛인 것을 확인하였다. 분무 건조 과립 분말의 형상은 슬러리의 분산안정성 및 점도 영향을 받으며, 분말 함량이 높을수록 평균 입자 사이즈가 증가하는 것을 확인하였다.

액상 염화알루미늄을 왕겨에 첨가시 pH와 수용성 인 함량에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Liquid Aluminum Chloride Amendments to Rice Hulls on pH and Soluble Reactive Phosphorus Contents)

  • The goals of this study were conducted to investigate the effects of applying liquid aluminum chloride ($AlCl_3$) to rice hulls on pH and soluble reactive P (SRP). A total of 800 broiler chicks (4 treatments $\times$ 4 replicates $\times$ 50 birds) were housed into 16 floor pens in a single house for 5 weeks. The treatments were divided into 4 groups: control, 100 g of liquid $AlCl_3/kg$ of rice hulls, 200 g of liquid $AlCl_3/kg$ of rice hulls, and 300 g of liquid $AlCl_3/kg$ of rice hulls. Liquid $AlCl_3$ was sprayed on the rice hulls surface at a rate of 100 g, 200 g, and 300 g liquid $AlCl_3$ per kg rice hull. pH values and SRP contents were significantly decreased (P<0.05) with the increased liquid $AlCl_3$ levels in comparison with control. However, no significant differences in SRP contents were observed among all treatments at 3 and 4 weeks. Applying 100 g, 200 g, and 300 g liquid $AlCl_3$ to rice hulls reduced SRP contents by 18, 25, and 52% for 5 weeks, respectively, compared with the controls. In conclusion, these results suggest that using liquid $AlCl_3$ on rice hulls should be promising for reducing water contamination and resulted in a reduction in SRP contents, which reduced pH.

Al 합금과 STD61강의 소착에 미치는 첨가원소 Fe, Mn의 영향 (Effects of Fe, Mn Contents on the Al Alloys and STD61 Steel Die Soldering)

  • Recently, various attempts to produce a heat sink made of Al 6xxx alloys have been carried out using die-casting. In order to apply die-casting, the Al alloys should be verified for die-soldering ability with die steel. It is generally well known that both Fe and Mn contents have effects on decreasing die soldering, especially with aluminum alloys containing substantial amounts of Si. However, die soldering has not been widely studied for the low Si aluminum (1.0~2.0wt%) alloys. Therefore, in this study, an investigation was performed to consider how the soldering phenomena were affected by Fe and Mn contents in low Si aluminum alloys. Each aluminum alloy was melted and held at $680^{\circ}C$. Then, STD61 substrate was dipped for 2 hr in the melt. The specimens, which were air cooled, were observed using a scanning electron microscope and were line analyzed by an electron probe micro analyzer. The SEM results of the dipping soldering test showed an Al-Fe inter-metallic layer in the microstructure. With increasing Fe content up to 0.35%, the Al-Fe inter-metallic layer became thicker. In Al-1.0%Si alloy, the additional content of Mn also increased the thickness of the inter-metallic layer compared to that in the alloy without Mn. In addition, EPMA analysis showed that Al-Fe inter-metallic compounds such as $Al_2Fe$, $Al_3Fe$, and $Al_5Fe_2$ formed in the die soldering layers.
