Experimental results for forced convection heat transfer of pure refrigerant and nonrefrigerant mixtures during condensing inside horizontal smooth tubes, double pipe heat exchanger of 7.5 mm ID and 4 000 mm long inside tube, are presented. Pure refrigerant R - 22 and R - 407 c, the mixture of R - 32 + R - 125 + R - 134a (23/25/52, wt %) are used as the test fluids. The ranges of parameters are $114.3{\sim}267.1 kg/(m^2 {\cdot} s)$ of mass velocity, <0$\sim$1.0 of quality. The vapor pressure, vapor temperature and tube wall temperature were measured. Using these data, the local and average heat transfer coefficients for the condensation are obtained. At the same given experimental conditions, the condensation heat transfer coefficients for NARMs R - 407c were lower than those for the pure refrigerant of R - 22. Local heat transfer characteristics for R - 407c were different from pure refrigerant R - 22. The condensaheat transfer coefficients for R - 407c and R - 22 increased with mass velocity. Based on the data a prediction method was presented for the calculation of dimensionless average heat transfer coefficient.
The performance of automobile air conditioning systems of R1234yf was evaluated and compared with that of R134a. In particular, the performance evaluation was carried out by installing an internal heat exchanger in order to improve the performance of the system used in R1234yf. A performance comparison between the R1234yf and R134a for automotive air conditioning revealed that the cooling capacity and COP of the 1234yf system without the IHX decreased by up to 7% and 4.5%, respectively, but those with the IHX decreased by up to 1.8% and 2.9%, respectively.
In this paper, experimental investigation of capillary tube performance for R-407C is performed. The experimental setup is made of real vapor-compression refrigerating system. In this study, mass flow rate is measured for capillary tubes of various diameter and length as inlet pressure and degree of subcooling are changed. These data are compared with the results of a numerical model. The mass flow rates of the numerical model are less than by 14% compared with the measured mass flow rates. It is found that mass flow rate and length for R-407c are less than those of R-22 under the same condition. Also based on this experimental study and the numerical model, a set of capillary tube selection charts for R-407C is constructed.

The capillary tube performance for R-407C is experimentally investigated. The experimental setup is a real vapor-compression refrigerating system. Mass flow rate is measured for various diameter and length while inlet pressure and degree of subcooling are changed. These data are compared with the results of a numerical model. The mass flow rate of the numerical model is about 14% less than the measured mass flow rate. It is found that mass flow rate and length for R-407C are less than those for R-22 under the same condition. Based on this experimental study and the numerical model, a set of design charts for capillary tube of R-407C is proposed.
Flow boiling heat transfer coefficients (HTCs) of R22, R134a, R407C, and R410A were measured for a horizontal plain tube. The test section was made of a copper tube of 8.8mm inner diameter and 1000mm length respectively. The refrigerant was heated by passing hot water through an annulus surrounding the test section. All tests were performed at a fixed refrigerant saturation temperature of $5^{\circ}C$ with mass fluxes of 100~300 kg/$m^2$,/TEX>s. HTCs were measured by two methods: the direct wall temperature measurement method and the indirect Wilson plot method. Experimental results showed that the Wilson plot method was affected greatly by the external test conditions and yielded inconsistent results. For the mass flux of 100kg/$m^2$,/TEX>s, HTCs were almost constant regardless of the quality for a given refrigerant HTCs of R134a and R407C were similar to those of R22 while those of R410A were 60% higher than those of R22. For the mass fluxes of 200 and 300kg/$m^2$,/TEX>s, HTCs of R407C were almost the same as those of R22, while HTCs of R134a and R410A were 12-13% and 20~23% higher than those of R22 respectively. For pure refrigerant, Shah\`s correlation yielded a good agreement with the measured data both qualitatively and quantitatively.
To protect the ozone layer, R22 will be replaced with HFCs. R407C is a leading candidate as alternative refrigerant for air conditioner due to its similar thermodynamic characteristics with R22. In replacing R22 with R407C, the compatibility with lubricating oil is of major concern. Polyol ester (POE) oil among the synthetic oils is considered to be the best lubricant for use with R407C because of good electrical properties and miscibility. However, lubricating ability of mixture of R407C/POE oil is lower than that of R22/mineral oil due to the production of acid by hydrolysis which causes corrosive wear. Therefore, to minimize water content, it is needed to develop a molecular sieve desiccant which is compatible with R407C and ester oil. This paper discusses (1) the change of properties of POE oil when current molecular seive is used, (2) the effects of POE oils and additives on durability of compressor. Through compressor life test and bench wear test, it was found that inadequate use of POE oils and additives may promote the deteriation of molecular sieve, resulting in decrease of durability of compressor.
Rapid increase of refrigeration & air-conditioning system (r & a system) in modem industries brings attention to the urgency of research & development as a core technology in the area. And it is required to the compatibility problem of r & a system to alternative refrigerant for the protection of environment. Then, it is requested to study the lubrication characteristics of refrigerant compressor which is the core technology in the r & a system. The study of lubrication characteristics in the critical sliding component is essential for the design of refrigerant compressor. Therefore, theoretical investigation of the lubrication characteristics of rotary compressor for r & a system is studied. The Runge-Kutta method is used for the analysis of the behavior of rolling piston in the rotary compressor. The results show that the rotating speed of shaft and the discharge pressure have an important effect upon the angular velocity of the rolling piston. This results give important basic data for the further lubrication analysis and design of the rotary compressor.
Analytical study on the thermodynamical cyclic behabiour and characteristics of HFC-l34a refrigerant for automotive air conditionser system for the replacement of existing CFC-12 has been carried out in this paper through development of system performance simulation program, expecially in the view point of system design considerations. The results indicate that HFC-l34a system will give a greater refrigerating capacity than CFC-12 if appropriate engineering measures such as proper codensers, flow controllers, etc., taken for certain operating conditions. The results, however, also show that the operating power for compression process increases over entire temperature range as a result of decreasing volumetric efficiency due to larger specific volume and increased discharging pressure. The present study results indicate that proper selection of condensing and evaporating temperature plus refrigerant control is very important performance factor to have better COP in the HFC-134a system design.

Investigation of the performance of an autocascade refrigeration system using the refrigerant mixtures of R744 (carbon dioxide) and R134a (1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane) has been carried out by simulation and experiment. Cycle simulation using a constant UA model in heat exchangers has been performed for R744/134a mixtures of the compositions ranging from 10/90 to 30/70 by weight. Variations of mass flow rate of refrigerant, compressor work, refrigeration capacity and COP with respect to mass fraction of R744/134a mixture were presented. Performance test has been executed in the autocascade refrigeration system by varying secondary fluid temperatures at evaporator and condenser inlets. Experimental results match quite well with those obtained from the simulation.
