수정진동자 미세저울을 이용한 방식도막의 물 흡수 측정 (Measurement of Water Absorption in Anticorrosive Organic Coatings Using Quartz Crystal Microbalance (QCM))

  • The absorption of water into an anti-corrosive organic coating, such as alkyd and urethane resin coating, was investigated, using a quartz crystal microbalance (QCM). Anticorrosive properties of the coatings were also measured, by means of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The overall absorption of water in the coating is determined by the chemical nature of resin, and decreases with increasing thickness. The enhancement of anti-corrosive performance, through increase of coating thickness, was more remarkable in the case of the coating that hadlower equilibrium water absorption. The absorption kinetics curves were Fickian in nature. The EIS analysis confirmed that the resin, having lower equilibrium water absorption, shows higher anti-corrosive performan.

  • In this work, the effects of binder materials on the tribological behavior were experimentally evaluated for air curable MoS$_2$bonded film lubricants. The binders tested were basically alkyd and acryl based resins, and also were modified by nitro-cellulose in various weight percentages. Effects on the binder ratio to solid lubricants and the molecular weight of binders were also investigated in all aspects of the tribological behavior. For the tests, LFW-1 and Falex tester were used to measure mainly the endurance life and load carrying capacity of bonded lubricants. Results showed that lubricants of methacrylic resin has the better performance than those of other resins, and also the properties of lubricants both of alkyd and acrylic resins could be improved by modification with nitro-cellulose. It was also shown that the optimum ratio of nitro-cellulose related closely to the binder material and the testing machine.

  • 방염도료로 일액형 염화고무(Chlorinated Rubber) 백색도료가 많이 사용되고 있는데 이는 탄화시 검은 연기가 많이 발생되고 목재에 대한 표면강도와 접착력 등의 미흡한 단점이 있어 이러한 점 등을 고려한 Polyurethane Resin계(Alkyd Resin) 이액형 방염우레탄라카 백색도료를 개발하였다. 본 실험에서 개발한 목재용 Polyurethane Resin계 방염도료 조성의 물성은 기존의 방염백색도료보다 목재와의 친화력이 향상되고 다량의 연기발생은 억제하는 결과를 얻었다.

  • The UV curing industry is one of the most wide application fields in the coating and printing inks industry. Applications extend to general coating for paper, board, wood tapes, compact discs and holograms, ink, photoresists for imaging processes and adhesives for welding and sealing in circuit boards. The UV-curing resins have advantages of quick set, space saving, clean environment and efficient use of energy. The purpose of this study has been to control of morphology structures consist of UV-curing resins and alkyd resins. Therefore, we are investigated with regard to rheology properties on the exposure to UV-curing, structures and mechanical properties for curing films.

Graphene oxide dispersed polyvinyl chloride/alkyd green nanocomposite film: Processing and physico-mechanical properties

  • Graphene oxide (GO) reinforced Polyvinyl chloride (PVC)-Waterborne Castor Alkyd (WCA) nanocomposites (PVC/WCA/GO) films were processed through solution blending technique. TGA showed that the thermal stability of PVC/WCA/GO-0.5 films was better than that of PVC/WCA blend film. With incorporation of 0.5 wt.% GO, the tensile strength and elastic modulus of the blend nanocomposite have significantly improved by about 260% and 185%, respectively, compared with neat polymer. The physicomechanical properties of these films suggest that the PVC/WCA/GO nanocomposite films may have a potential scope for their application in packaging industries. The results are supported by characterizations like FTIR, XRD, TEM and FESEM.

Degradation of Coatings under Atmospheric Tropical Conditions

  • The weather resistance of five coatings systems based on alkyd, chlorinated rubber, epoxy, polyurethane and fluoropolymer were studied by natural exposure test and accelerated test. The coatings were exposed at Hanoi station with urban industry atmosphere and at Baichay station with marine atmosphere. The degradation of coatings was evaluated by gloss measurement and surface analysis by scanning electronic microscopy. The results obtained show that among coatings tested the gloss of polyurethane and fluoropolymer coatings remained highly and those of alkyd, chlorinated rubber and epoxy coatings were very low after two years of atmospheric exposure. Under accelerating conditions the gloss of fluoropolymer coatings remained highly after 80 cycles of testing. By comparison with accelerating test in UV-condensation chamber the conditions at atmospheric stations are more aggressive.

  • $\alpha$,$\beta$,$\varepsilon$ type copper phthalocy $\alpha$,$\beta$,$\varepsilon$ type copper phthalocyanine(CuPc) pigment was purified by a simple train sublimation technique. The layered photoconductor was made with $\varepsilon$ type CuPc as a carrier generation layer(CGL) and polyvinly carvazol(PVCz) as a carrier transport layer(CLT). A CGL of CuPc was electrochemical deposited on an Al substrate used as cathode in pigment dispersion solutions. a CTL of PVCz pwas spin coated on $\varepsilon$ type CuPc thin film by a spin coater. The effect of sonication time, electrophotographic property of the layered photoconductor were studied with surface coverage, surface potential and sensitivity.

코팅된 시편과 레이저 빔과의 상호 작용 연구 (Interaction of Beam and Coated Metals at High Power Continuous Irradiation)

  • The beam-matter interaction with various coating effects has received continued attention in the high power laser community. Previous works suggest that coatings promote target damage when compared to beaming on uncoated surface. Three types of paint coatings(Acrylic urethane, Silicone alkyd and Stealth blend) and a water coat on metals(Al, Ti and STS) are irradiated with a $CO_2$ laser. Both strain and temperature measurements are provided for assessing the instantaneous response characteristics of each coating on different metals. A selective combination of surface coats with metals has proven effective in either preventing or enhancing damage, both thermal and mechanical, associated with focused beaming on a target.

등록문화재 전차381호의 도료 분석 (Analysis of Paint used in Streetcar No. 381 of Registered Culture Property)

  • 본 연구는 전차381호(등록문화재 제467호)의 페인트 시료에서 근현대 도료의 특성을 밝히고자 현미경적 관찰 및 적외선 분광분석, SEM-EDS 분석을 실시하였다. 현미경 관찰에서 상부와 하부 페인트는 각각 26층, 29층의 도색 층위를 이루고 있고 두꺼운 층은 $100{\mu}m$에서 얇은 층은 $10{\mu}m$까지 다양한 두께로 도색된 것으로 확인되었다. 페인트는 적색, 녹색 등 여러 색상을 사용한 것으로 확인되며, 도색 전 표면 처리를 위해 퍼티가 사용되었음이 관찰되었다. 적외선 분광분석 결과 스펙트럼에서 C-H stretching bands와 C=O stretching band, aromatic bands, C-H bending bands, C-O stretching bands의 흡수대가 관찰되었고 Spectrum search 결과에 따라 알키드수지로 확인되었다. 무기물의 성분 분석을 통해 시료 표면의 금색은 구리를 주성분으로 한 페인트를 사용했으며, 퍼티 층은 카올린(kaolin, 카올리나이트 $Al_2O_3{\cdot}2SiO_2{\cdot}2H_2O$와 할로이사이트 $Al_2O_3{\cdot}SiO_2{\cdot}4H_2O$), 탈크(talc, $3MgO{\cdot}4SiO{\cdot}H_2O$), 아연화(zinc white, ZnO)를 성분으로 하는 래커퍼티를 사용한 것으로 판단된다.
