Pitchstone reacted with CaO in hot water(9$0^{\circ}C$) and increased its sedimentary volume by forming Ca(OH)2 and calcium silicate hydrates. ALC was prepared from gel at 9$0^{\circ}C$ and subsequently autoclaved at 18$0^{\circ}C$ by using the property of swelling and the physical properties of ALC was investigated with experimental conditions. When the ratio of pitchstone/CaO was 2 (CaO/SiO2 mol ratio=0.81), bulk density, modulus of rupture and thermal conductivity of the ALC were 0.75g/㎤, 73kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ 0.150 kcal/m.hr.$^{\circ}C$, respectively. The crystalline phase of it was mainly tobermorite. Therefore ALC was turned out to be much lightweighted and good thermal insulation.

ALC was fabricated using cement, lime and quartzite by hydrothermal reaction. The kind of quartzite was reviewed for ALC properties and returned slurry was recycled in this study. Munkyung and Kumpyung quartzite was used and quartzite powder was experimented. The major mineral phase of Munkyung quartzite was quartz and muscovite crystal but that of Kumpyung was quartz. It was certain that crystallinity of Kumpyung quartzite was superior to Munkyung quartzite. Compressive strength and A-number of ALC with Kumpyung quartzite was higher than that of ALC with Munkyung quartzite under similar specific gravity. These results was resulted from major mineral phase, crystallinity and minor components of quartzite.

Autoclaved lightweight concrete, also known as autoclaved aerated concrete(AAC) or autoclaved cellular concrete (ACC), is made with fine silica powder, quik lime, cement, and an Al powder. ALC contains 70~80% air. The lightweight material offers excellent sound and thermal insulation, and like all cement-based materials, is strong and fire resistant. However, ALC have high water absorption, low compressive strength and popout the origin of the low surface strength in its properties. These properties make troubles under construction such as cracking and popout. Thus, this study is to improve the fundamental strength by controls of increasing of admixtures, gypsum and silica powder size. Admixtures make use of metakaolin and silica fume. From the test result, the ALC using admixture have a good fundamental properties compared with plain ALC. Compressive strength, specific strength and abrasion's ratio were improved depending on increasing admixtures ratio's, gypsum and silica powder size.

Autoclaved Lightweight Concrete(ALC) features such as a high performance insulation, the fire resistance, the advantage of easy handing construction, and lightweight panels applied the curtain wall system. ALC materials are certified as non-toxic environmental and eco-friendly productions. But ALC external panels mixed with blast furnace slag pounder and silica fume have to be coated with a stucco compound or plaster because of resisting the ambient environment. This study is that mixing tests to evaluate a performance analysis of exterior paints to be make-up pigments(organic or inorganic) coated with panel surface. Testing compared by KS F 2476; flow test, KS F 2426; compression strength test, KS F 2762; bond strength test. In results, the case of the inorganic binder, ratio of alumina cement : anhydrite is 90:10 to 80:20 at the highest level of intensity. In the case of the organic binder, adhesive strength rating at surface of ALC, the pullout strength is below 0.5 $N/mm^2$ but the normal concrete is over 2.0$N/mm^2$. A contents ratio of EVA resin is more than 3% and then bond strength is effectively.
ALC was fabricated using cement, lime and quartzite by hydrothermal reaction. ALC has low strength and brittleness on account of inner pores. The studies for resolving these problems were driven by many researchers. Among these researches, the controls of quartzite fineness have been studied for unsuitable properties of ALC. This study experimented with variation of 90 ${\mu}m$ residue for obtain good physical properties. It was found that 90 ${\mu}m$ residue influenced on physical properties of ALC. The lower amount of 90 ${\mu}m$ residue, the higher compressive and bending strength. But the continuing decrease of 90 ${\mu}m$ residue did not cause the increase of strength. In order to application of these results in process, the states of process and hydrothermal products will be considered.
This experiment was conducted to find out the effects of fermented compost using cattle manure and Autoclaved Lightweight Concrete(ALC) waste and duck raising in rice growing paddy fields on growth and quality of rice. By application of fermented compost of cattle manure incoporated ALC waste with amount of 2,000kg/10a, rice yield was reduced 2.9%, and 4.1% in 1,000kg/10a of compost with raising ducks plots as compared with application of standard level of chemical fertilizer. The ratio of head rice was slightly high in plots of compost application and white-belly kemeled rice was reduced by application of $1,500{\sim}2000kg/10a$ compost. The ratio of Mg/K was the highest in application of 1,000kg compost with raising duck. Efficiency of weed control by raising duck with free hexbiades was sufficient and their effects showed no difference between raising duck plots and herbidde plot.
Optimum concentration of alizarine complexone (ALC) for staining of otoliths for Pacific cod was determined by examination of stained quality, growth and survival rates. Small juveniles ($34.1{\pm}1.8mm$ TL, $mean{\pm}SD$) were immersed in four different concentrations (20, 40, 60, 80 mg/L) and large ones ($73.8{\pm}1.2mm$ TL, $mean{\pm}SD$) in five different concentrations (1, 5, 10, 20, 40 mg/L) of ALC for 24 hrs. The fish were then reared and observed for 14 days. The stained quality of otoliths was evaluated by dividing them into four grades by the presence of fluorescent stains on the otoliths under G-excited UV light. The small juveniles stained with the different ALC concentrations had 100% staining success, and their growth rate and body weight did not differ significantly between treatments. Optimal ALC concentration for the smaller juveniles was 20 mg/L in the present experiment. On the other hand, distinct fluorescent rings were confirmed on otoliths of larger juveniles in the 10 mg/L treatment with high survival rate. These results suggest that ALC staining at concentrations of 10 mg/L with larger juveniles will be helpful for release-recapture experiments for stock enhancement of Pacific cod.
An experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of dietary acetyl-L-carnitine (ALC) on growth performance, carcass characteristics, meat quality and lipid metabolism in broilers. A total of 240 one-day-old male Arbor Acres broilers were randomly allocated to 4 dietary treatments (0, 300, 600, and 900 mg/kg dietary ALC supplementation, respectively). Compared with the control treatment, addition of ALC resulted in lower (linear effect, p<0.05) ADG and AFI. Abdominal fat percentage decreased (linear effect, p<0.05) as dietary ALC was increased, but there was no effect on dressing percentage, breast muscle percentage or thigh muscle percentage. Breast muscle pH value 24 h post-mortem increased (linear effect, p<0.05), but there were no significant differences among treatments. However, thigh muscle pH value increased (linear effect, p<0.05) as dietary ALC was increased. Breast and thigh muscle $a^*$ values increased (linear effect, p<0.05), and breast and thigh muscle $b^*$ values decreased (linear effect, p<0.05) with increased ALC in the diet. In addition, breast and thigh muscle shear force value decreased (linear effect, p<0.05) as dietary ALC was increased. Total cholesterol, triglyceride, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and lipoprotein lipase decreased (linear effect, p<0.05) and free fatty acid and lipase in serum increased (linear effect, p<0.05) with increased ALC in diets.
Electrochemical behavior of $Ln^{3+},$-ALC complexes($Gd^{3+},$$Tb^{3+},$$Dy^{3+},$$Ho^{3+},$$Er^{3+},$$Yb^{3+}$ and $Lu^{3+}$-alizarin complex-one) has been investgated by d.c polarography, differential pulse polarography and cyclic voltammetry. The reduction mechanism of ALC comes to the conclusion that the two electron make one step of reversible processes, and that there is few adsorption in the electrode reaction. The new complex is made from one lanthanide ion and one ALC. This complex is proven to make an adsorptive complex wave, by the experiments of differential pulse polarography and cyclic voltammetry. The reduction potential of complex wave($P_2$)turns up more negatively than ligand wave($P_1$) does. Linear calibration curves of the decreasing P1 and increasing $P_2$ is obtained when the lanthanide concentration varys from $2.5X10^5$M to $1X10^4M$.
