  • Interlace textured yarn was developed in order to increase weaving process efficiency. Today, interlace texturing is very useful method of manufacturing the high added value compound yarns for new synthetic fabrics. In this research, new silky type high added value compound yarns were. manufactured by interlace texturing technology and tested their properties. The object of this research is to investigate the relationship between interlace textured yarn properties and processing parameters that is air pressure, yarn tension and take-up speed. The original filament yarns used were TTD(Thick & Thin Semi-Dull) 110d/72f and SCD(Semi-Dull Cation Dyeable) 75d/36f. 27 specimens were manufactured and tested for their physical properties-nip density, tensile properties, multi-step shrinkage test and surface structure by SEM. The air pressure was main process condition to change properties of interlace textured yarns. And interlace textured process had influence on weaving preparation process, weaving, knitting and so on. It has some influence on shrinkage properties of dyeing and finishing processes.

  • Air interlacing serves to protect the yarn against damage, strengthens inter-filament compactness or cohesion, and ensures fabric consistency. The air interlacing nozzle is used to introduce intermittent nips to a filament yarn so as to improve its performance in textile processing. The effect of various interlacing nozzle geometries on the interlacing process was studied. The geometries of interlacing nozzles with single or multiple air inlets located across the width of yarn channels are investigated. The basis case is the yarn channel, with a perpendicular main air inlet in the middle. Other cases have main air inlets, slightly inclined double sub air inlets, The yarn channel cross sectional shapes are either semicircular or rectangular shapes. The compressed impinging jet from the main air inlet hole hits the opposing bottom wall of the yarn channel, is divided into two branches, joins with the compressed air coming out from sub air inlet at the bottom and creates two free jets at both ends of the yarn channel. The compressed air movement in the cross-section consists of two opposing directional vortices. The CFD-FASTRAN flow parallel solver was used to perform steady simulations of impinging jet flow inside of the interlace nozzles. The vortical structure and the flow pattern such as pressure contour, particle traces, velocity vector plots inside of interlace nozzle geometry are discussed in this pater.

The air interlacing nozzle is used to introduce intermittent nips to a filament yarn so as to improve its performance in textile processing. This study investigates the effect of interlacing nozzle geometry on the interlacing process. The geometries of interlacing nozzles with multiple air inlets located across the width of a yarn channels are investigated. The basic interlacing nozzle is the yarn channel, with a perpendicular single air inlet in the middle. The yarn channel shapes are cross sections with semicircular or rectangular shapes. This paper presents three doubled sub air inlets with main air inlet and one of them is slightly inclined doubled sub air inlets with main air inlet. The compressed air coming out from the inlet hits the opposing wall of the yarn channel, divides into two branches, flows trough the top side of yarn channel, joins with the compressed air coming out from the sub air inlet and then creates two free jets at both ends of the yarn channel. The compressed air moves in the shape of two opposing directional vortices. The CFD-FASTRAN was used to perform steady simulations of impinging jet flow inside of the interlace nozzles. The vortical structure and the flow pattern such as pressure contour, particle traces, velocity vector plots inside of interlace nozzle geometry are discussed in this paper.

  • Bond strength between alloy and ceramic plays an important role in deciding the quaring the processing of metalceramic restorations. Now the author had an experiment on the measurement of bond strength differences accoding to the contents of recast alloy used during the processing of metal-ceramic restorations. In the experiment, Anusavice's Planar Interface Shear Bond Test was employed to determine the bond strength. Total 25 specimens were divided as 5 groups, that is, 5 specimens in a group respections : Group I (new alloy 100%) Group II (new 75%$\cdot$recast 25%), Group III (new 50%$\cdot$recast 50%), Group IV (new 25%$\cdot$recast 75%), Group V(recast 100%). All specimens examined micropically and respective strength values of the group specimens were checked simultaneously. The results were as follows, 1. In the analtsis of variance the result showed the significant differences of 1%(P<0.01) among the each group classifid according to the recast contents. 2. When the interfaces of specimens were examined with an electron microscope, the air bubble were evenly occurred in all the specimens, and the occurrence frequencies and the sizes of air bubble were different between Group I and Group III, especially marked different Group I and Croup V. 3. In respective verification of each group through T-test, between Group I and Group II, between Group I and Group III did not show significant differences. 4. There was significant difference between Group I and Group IV, between Group I and Group V as 1%(P<0.01). 5. In the Shear Bond Test of all the groups, Croup V showed the lowest value. • In this study, we determine the stretch and shrinkage properties of conjugated yarns. The shrinkage(%) and elasticity(%) were determined by applying twist conditions of 0, 350, 800, 1000, 1200, 1400, 1600, 2000 T/M (twisting per meter). It is found that the shrinkage(%) and elasticity(%) gradually decreased with increasing T/M. Especially the elasticity(%) dramatically decreased over 1400 T/M condition. In contrast, it is showed that the handle and drapery properties decreased below 1000 T/M, which indicates that the optimal T/M condition could be 1000~1400. The effect of shrinkage(%) and elasticity(%) with different steam setting temperatures (60, 70, 80 and $90^{\circ}C$) was also determined. The shrinkage(%) decreased with increasing setting temperature, while the elasticity not changed. In this context, the optimal steam setting temperature could be $80^{\circ}C$ because it is not easy to weave with the yarns which was set below $80^{\circ}C$. The elasticity(%) decreased with increasing the density of warp and weft. To produce soft handle, excellent drapery and good stretch fabrics, the warp density needs to be reached by 90% of the ideal warp density. In the case of NaOH treatments to the fabrics, the elasticity(%) increased with increasing weight reduction. Therefore, this study have demonstrated that the conjugated yarns with core yarn and the SDY CD(cation dyeable spindraw yarn) as an effect yarn would be appropriate to produce excellent mixture-yarn, which displays clean appearance, good handle and excellent elasticity, The optimized conditions are as follows; 1000~1200 twist per meter, $80^{\circ}C$ steam setting temperature, 90% of ideal warp density and relaxation condition treated with 5g/l NaOH concentration.
