Aiming at solving the problems associated with existing wireless paging systems, this paper proposed a 4W1H+L+PI concept to context-aware information structure, based on which, a new wireless paging system named 119 system is developed under ubiquitous environment. Bemuse of the adoption of RFID tags in the wireless paging system, hazard and malfunction rates are reduced, thus accuracy is guaranteed. Besides, response time is shortened comparing with existing systems. In the future, if emergency aid information system can be implemented under the ubiquitous computing environment combined with sensor network, then aid service of good quality will be provided.

The existing emergency medical systems are unable to obtain accurate clinical information, so most of the specialized first aid is being done within the hospital. In this paper, designed medical information transfer structure based on medical information standards HL7 for accurate first aid is proposed. The designed system can share clinical information and emergency medical information in terms of standard HL7 messages. Therefore, the correct first aid is available in steps taken by the hospital. In addition, the system of this paper has been implemented based on the OSGi service platform for the efficient integration with other health-related services.

A cyber shopping mall is a place where consumers acquire product information, and make purchase decisions in the cyber space. Even though it offers many advantages over traditional malls, there are still several limitations to do shopping in an existing cyber mall. One of these limitations is the absence of an efficient shopping aid to compare multiple items from multiple malls. Existing search systems usually support a keyword search with limited conditions. Consumers spend lots of their time to compare multiple alternatives from search results. In this paper, we propose an intelligent product search system. There are two main features in our system. The first one is a full support of comparison shopping with multiple perspectives based on commercial search engines. The second one is an enhancement to the shopping aid based on a new concept of Shopping AssistanT. Our system is implemented in Visual Basic and PERL, and experimental results show a satisfactory performance.

This study investigates the effect of remittance and agricultural aid inflows on GDP growth rate volatility in response to climate change shocks in twenty-eight African countries by using system generalized method of moments from 1996 to 2013 with three years grouped data. The climate change shocks are indicated by four variables; natural disasters, rainfall variability, fluctuation in temperature and the weighted anomaly standardized precipitation (WASP) index. Consequently, natural disasters and temperature variability have a significant effect on GDP volatility, while rainfall variability and WASP index have no adverse consequence on stabilization of the economy. On the other hand, in general, remittances and agricultural aid are helpful to stabilize the economy and especially remittances inflows can play a crucial role as insurance when natural disasters occur.

Purpose : To check the legal relation between rescue team and patient as well as legal responsibility for patient's damage intentionally or erroneously caused by rescue member, a public official, in the performance of relevant job ; to prevent legal dispute over rescue team and to present program for fair settlement of dispute and equitable and feasible burden of damage. Method : First, the legal principle of Civil Law, Criminal Law and Administrative Law related to the theme of this research will be investigated around research by literature. Second, the case of dispute related to rescue team will be introduced. Result: 1. If 119 rescue members as a public official intentionally or erroneously cause damage to patient in the performance of job, they shall bear civil, criminal and administrative responsibility. They shall bear civil responsibility for indemnity for damage due to default or tort. The typical criminal responsibility includes accidental homicide arising out of duty, preparing falsified official document, dereliction of duty, etc. In the administrative side, the state is responsible for indemnity for peculiar status of the rescue member, public official. 2. Though raising civil petition or legal dispute over unsatisfactory rescue service may be reasonable to guarantee the right of nation, such action may cause stress to rescue member as well as may lead to mental shrinking and defensive attitude only to take the basic first aid treatment which has low possibility of mistake instead of active first aid treatment so as to avoid legal responsibility. 3. The program that may prevent legal dispute over 119 rescue team includes expansion of manpower specialized in first aid treatment, enhancement of education on legal environment, development and application of standard job guideline, formation of mutual trust with patient, detailed explanation, preparing and keeping minute record, improvement of the rescue members' ability of first aid treatment and development of medical instruction mode. Conclusion : The best policy is to prevent legal dispute. If it is impossible to basically exclude the possibility of dispute, however, we need to make effort to minimize the occurrence, settle fairly and divide damage equitably and feasibly. To improve the preventible death rate of our first aid system to the level of advanced country, 119 rescue team which is in charge of the stage before hospital needs to positively enforce special first aid by improving the qualitative level of rescue service and to strive to prevent legal dispute that may occur in the process.

Background and Objectives: The integration of auditory-visual speech information improves speech perception; however, if the auditory system input is disrupted due to hearing loss, auditory and visual inputs cannot be fully integrated. Additionally, temporal coincidence of auditory and visual input is a significantly important factor in integrating the input of these two senses. Time delayed acoustic pathway caused by the signal passing through digital signal processing. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the effects of hearing loss and hearing aid digital delay circuit on sound-induced flash illusion. Subjects and Methods: A total of 13 adults with normal hearing, 13 with mild to moderate hearing loss, and 13 with moderate to severe hearing loss were enrolled in this study. Subsequently, the sound-induced flash illusion test was conducted, and the results were analyzed. Results: The results showed that hearing aid digital delay and hearing loss had no detrimental effect on sound-induced flash illusion. Conclusions: Transmission velocity and neural transduction rate of the auditory inputs decreased in patients with hearing loss. Hence, the integrating auditory and visual sensory cannot be combined completely. Although the transmission rate of the auditory sense input was approximately normal when the hearing aid was prescribed. Thus, it can be concluded that the processing delay in the hearing aid circuit is insufficient to disrupt the integration of auditory and visual information.

This paper describes the automated call routing for train ticket reservation aid system based on speech recognition. We focus on the task of automatically routing telephone calls based on user's fluently spoken response instead of touch tone menus in an interactive voice response system. Vector-based call routing algorithm is investigated and mapping table for key term is suggested. Korail database collected by KT is used for call routing experiment. We evaluate call-classification experiments for transcribed text from Korail database. In case of small training data, an average call routing error reduction rate of 14% is observed when mapping table is used.

We developed a Retinal Projection Display for a low vision aid. This device can be applied to a low vision whose visual sense is weak. In the device, a digital image was formed with spatial light modulator(SLM) and projected onto a retina with the Maxwellian View. The image on this display can be seen clearly without our ocular accommodation and a low vision can see it without correction of a refraction error.

Multivariate data analysis tools were used to improve the understanding of the wet end chemistry and white water system of the Papermill at NorskeCanada Crofton Division. Specifically, the analysis was aimed at identifying what variables were contributing to increased retention aid use and wet end instability. Several models were developed using data sets with up to 88 process variables and over 3000 observations. It was found that increased retention aid use was driven primarily by PCC and TMP usage as well as the addition of Alaskan White Spruce to the TMP furnish.

The most recent trend on digital hearing aid is to increase the ratio of signal to noise by directivity or to develop noise reduction algorithm inside DSP IC chip. This paper designed, fabricated and tested a digital hearing aid directivity testing device in which a micro-mouse-like the stepping motor with a speaker rotates around an examinant. Both ears of the examinant were fixed with ITE hearing aids in order to response to receiving sound. The diameter of the directivity testing device was 2 [m] and the micro-mouse was precisely controlled by PICBASIC micro processor.
