The influence of aging treatment on the microstructure, mechanical and electrical properties of Cu-Be alloy for connector material applications was investigated. The properties of mechanical strength and electrical conductivity were found to increase with increasing aging temperature. By the way, SEM/EDS and TEM analysis exhibited that beryllides precipitation (CoBe and NiBe) with a size of 50 nm were distributed in grains. It was, therefore concluded that these beryllide precipitates improved the mechanical strength and also it was favor in increasing of electrical conductivity.
The softening behavior of squeeze cast Mg-Li-Al and Mg-Li-Al-Zr alloys have been investigated. The highest hardness values of Mg-Li-Al and Mg-Li-Al-Zr alloys were obtained after solution treatment at $400^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour. The hardness value, however, decreased as the aging temperature and time increased. Microstructural and calorometric analyses showed that quenched-microstructure changed from primary (${\alpha}$ and ${\beta}$)+secondary ${\alpha}$ to primary(${\alpha}$ and ${\beta}$)+secondary ${\alpha}+{\theta}$ after aging. The softening during aging was due to the coarsening of ${\theta}$ precipitates.

Effects of aging treatment of doped-MgO electron emission layer on luminance efficiency of ac-PDP were investigated in this study. Morphological and luminance efficiency with aging treatment were examined, especially with emphasis on the effects of doping elements. The results indicate that the luminance efficiency of test panels depends on the type of doping elements used for MgO and that may be due to the redeposition of MgO during glow discharge.
The changes of microstructure and hardness of TLP bonds of directionally solidified Ni base superalloy, GTD-111, with variation of homogenizing and aging treatment were investigated. The specimens were bonded at 1403K for 7.2ks using different insert metals such as MBF-50, MBF-80 and MBF-90 and they were homogenized at 1393K with various holding time. At center of bonded interlayer homogenized for hold time 30h, the contents of aluminum and titanium were approximately 90% and 95% of base metal, respectively. In this study, aging was performed at three different kinds : one step aging ; 1113K $\times$ 16h, two step aging ; 1113K $\times$ 10h ⇒ 1103K $\times$ 10h, three step aging ; 1113K $\times$ 10h ⇒ 1103K $\times$ 8h ⇒ 922K $\times$ 24h. ${\gamma}$' volume fraction and hardness of joints were high in the sequence of one step, two step and three step aging, whereas ${\gamma}$' volume fraction and hardness of joints obtained by three step aging treatment were higher than those of raw material. Tensile properties of joints bonded with MBF-80 and MBF-90, homogenized at 1393K for 30h and then three step aged became excellent than those of raw material, however, joint bonded with MBF-50 was poor.
Objectives: This study was designed to investigate the effect of Bombycis corpus on reproductive dysfunction caused by aging. Methods: The experimental group was divided into three groups: a control group consisting of 8-week-old male ICR mice without any treatment, An aging-elicited group (AE group) consisting of 50-week-old ICR male mice without any treatment, and a Bombycis corpus treatment group (BC group) consisting of 50-week-old ICR male mice with treatment Bombycis corpus extract (0.78 g/kg/day) for 6 months. After 6 months, histochemistry and immunohistochemistry of the testis were performed to investigate the effects of Bombycis corpus on the reproductive dysfunction caused by aging. Results: In the first step, Bombycis corpus increased spermatogenesis and distribution of sertoli cells in the seminiferous tubule, increased BrdU positive reaction in the spermatogonium at the basal part of the seminiferous tubule, and decreased the apoptosis of Sertoli cells in the seminiferous tubule. In addition, Bombycis corpus increased AR positive in Sertoli cells and $17{\beta}-HSD$ positive in leydig cells. Finally, Bombycis corpus decreased 8-OHdG positivite reaction in the spermatids of the seminiferous lumen, caspase-3 positivity in leydig cells, and HDAC1 positivite reaction in sertoli cells. Conclusions: These results suggest that Bombycis corpus increases spermatogenesis, decreases apoptosis of leydig cells and Sertoli cells, increases the production and action of testosterone in the testis, and inhibits DNA damages and DNA transcripts decrease in the testis, Thereby improving reproductive dysfunction caused by aging.
A cold roll-bonding process is applied to fabricate an AA6061/AA5052/AA6061 three-layer clad sheet. Two AA6061 and one AA5052 sheets of 2 mm thickness, 40 mm width, and 300 mm length are stacked, with the AA5052 sheet located in the center. After surface treatment such as degreasing and wire brushing, sample is reduced to a thickness of 1.5 mm by multi-pass cold rolling. The rolling is performed at ambient temperature without lubricant using a 2-high mill with a roll diameter of 400 mm at rolling speed of 6.0 m/sec. The roll bonded AA6061/AA5052/AA6061 complex sheet is then hardened by natural aging(T4) and artificial aging(T6) treatments. The microstructures of the as-roll bonded and age-hardened Al complex sheets are revealed by optical microscopy; the mechanical properties are investigated by tensile testing and hardness testing. After rolling, the roll-bonded AA6061/AA5052/AA6061 sheets show a typical deformation structure in which grains are elongated in the rolling direction. However, after T4 and T6 aging treatment, there is a recrystallization structure consisting of coarse equiaxed grains in both AA5052 and AA6061 sheets. The as roll-bonded specimen shows a sandwich structure in which an AA5052 sheet is inserted into two AA6061 sheets with higher hardness. However, after T4 and T6 aging treatment, there is a different sandwich structure in which the hardness of the upper and lower layers of the AA6061 sheets is higher than that of the center of the AA5052 sheet. The strength values of the T4 and T6 age-treated specimens are found to increase by 1.3 and 1.4 times, respectively, compared to that value of the starting material.
Mechanical properties and precipitation behavior of backward extruded 6061 Al alloy for pressure vessel were investigated using tensile test, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and differential scanning calorimeter (DSC). In this study, solution heat treatment (SHT) was performed at $535^{\circ}C$ for 30~90 min and aging treatment was conducted at 177 and $190^{\circ}C$ for 1~7 h. Maximum tensile strength of $36.6kgf/mm^2$ and yield strength of $33.29kgf/mm^2$ were achieved at the aging time of 5 h at $190^{\circ}C$. TEM observation showed that fine needle-like ${\beta}^{{\prime}{\prime}}$ phase which has 35~45 nm of length was uniformly distributed in the aged 6061 Al alloy specimen. From tensile test, TEM and DSC analysis, it is expected that aging time of 2~5 h at $190^{\circ}C$ is suitable for the extruded A6061 used as pressure vessels.

The as-roll-bonded specimen showed a clad structure in which the hardness of AA5052 regions was higher than that of AA6061 regions. However, after T4 and T6 aging treatment, specimens exhibited different structures, with hardness of AA6061 regions higher than that of AA5052 regions. Strengths of T6 and T4 age-treated specimens were found to increase by 1.55 and 1.36 times, respectively, compared to the value of the starting material.
Evaluations of the microstructure and mechanical properties of age hardenable Cu-2.0wt%Be alloy are performed in order to determine whether it can be used as a welding electrode for projection welding. The microstructure examinations, hardness measurements, and tensile tests of selective aging conditions are conducted. The results indicate that the aging treatment with the fine-grained microstructure exhibits better hardness and high tensile properties than those of the coarse-grained microstructure. The highest hardness value and high tensile strength are obtained from the aged condition of $300^{\circ}C$ for 360 min due to the presence of the metastable ${\dot{\gamma}}$ precipitates on the grain boundaries. The values of the highest hardness and tensile strength are measured as 374 Hv and 1236.2 MPa, respectively. The metastable ${\dot{\gamma}}$ precipitates are transferred to the equilibrium ${\gamma}$ precipitates due to the over-aged treatment. The presence of the ${\gamma}$ precipitates appears as nodule-like precipitates decorated around the grain boundaries. The welding electrode with the best aging treated condition exhibits better welding performance for electrodes than those of electrodes used previously.
