유아용 목재완구의 특성분석 (Characteristic of Wooden Toy for Infants)

  • On the ground of that toy as for infants is an important tool for education as well as play and furthermore it has a great influences on their growth and development, the present study intends to analyze the characteristics of the infant-oriented toys made of wood, the environment-friendly material. Object of the study includes the infants aged 2 to 7, and the wooden toy not only in domestic also international cases are investigated and analyzed from the point of function and design in particular, and the infant-oriented wooden toy is finally characterized. The wooden toys are classified in 5 items according to functions. There are toy helping a physical development like small muscles, toy improving the creativity, toy assisting language learning like Korean & English, toy contributing to number understanding and counting, and toy for imitation of social roles. The characteristics of the wooden toy are that the natural color & grain of wood are shown first, and also the natural texture & aroma of wood are felt secondly, and geometric design and shape are often presented thirdly, and recycling is available fourthly, and it is expensive finally. In order to revitalize the wooden toys lagging behind the cheap and diverse toys made of plastic, it is highly needed that development of the environment-friendly painting, unique design, marketing strategy of enterprises and use of domestic wood material.

색채 목가구 개발을 위한 천연염료의 이용에 관한 연구(제2보) - 천연염료의 처리 방법에 따른 색 변화 연구 - (Application of Natural Dyes for Developing Colored Wood Furniture (II) - Color Variation by Treatment Methods of Natural Dyes-)

  • 본 연구는 치자나무, 홍화, 오배자, 지치(지초), 소목 및 밤송이 등으로부터 추출한 천연염료를 이용하여 밤나무재를 염색할 때 나타나는 목재 표면의 색상 변화를 정량적으로 분석하여 효과적인 천연염색법을 검토하였다. 목재 시편은 염액의 온도, pH, 침지시간, 반복처리 횟수 등과 같은 다양한 처리조건을 적용하여 다채로운 색을 발현시겼고, 천연염색된 시편의 색상을 정량적으로 측정하기 위하여 $L^*$, $a^*$$b^*$ 값을 측정하여 채도와 염착농도를 산출해 내었다. 도막처리법은 천연염색 시에 많은 시간을 필요로 하는 침지 처리에 비해서 더욱 경제적인 처리법이라는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 착색력이 낮은 도막처리법은 반복적인 도막 처리를 통하여 원하는 색상을 얻을 수 있었으며 색상의 농담도 쉽게 표현할 수 있었다. 천연염색 처리 결과 염액의 온도가 높으며 약산성 염료(pH4의 수준)를 사용함으로써 우수한 착색효과를 얻을 수 있었다.

점액질에 따른 한지 sheet의 열화 거동 (Ageing behavior of Hanji sheet by mucilage)

  • Hanji(Korean traditional paper) is made from bark of paper mulberry(Broussonetia kazinoki). For a long time, Hanji has been used in various fields, such as paintings, printing paper, as specialty paper. The utilization of Hanji will become more and more diverse. One of the characteristic properties of Hanji is a long life time comparing to western paper. The mucilage which must be used in Hanji manufacturing should effect the conservation properties of Hanji. The effectiveness of the mucilage in aging of Hanji was evaluated in this paper. Strength properties of thermal aged Hanji made with synthetic mucilage decreased more slowly than those of Hanji made with natural mucilage. As prolonged aging time, all Hanji made mucilage increased oxidation index. But, Hanji made with PAM was most stable in oxidation of cellulose.

가속열화 방법에 의한 주상변압기 절연물의 열 열화 특성 평가 (The Evaluation of Thermal Aging Characteristics in Insulating Materials of the Pole Transformers)

  • The primary insulation materials used in an oil filled transformer are kraft paper, wood, porcelain and oil. Modern transformers use chemically treated paper to improve its tensile strength and resistance to aging caused by immersion in oil. But these insulation papers are mainly aged by thermal stress. Over the life time of the insulation paper and oil, it is exposed to high temperatures, oxygen and water. Its interaction with the steel of the tank and core plus the copper and aluminium of the windings will eventually cause the chemical properties of the oil to decay. High temperature have an effect on mechanical strength of cellulous paper used in the layer insulation. We made two aging cells in which insulation papers and mineral oil are conducted to test thermal properties. It is measured dielectric strength, number of acid, moisture, etc. of insulation paper and oil aged in the aging cells.

Production of Mass and Nutrient Content of Decaying Boles in Mature Deciduous Forest in Kwangnung Experimental Forest Station, Korea

  • In order to elucidate the characteristics of standing crop biomass, production and nutrient content of dead bole in mature ecosystem, we surveyed the dynamics of decaying bole of old-aged deciduous forest in 1993 and 2002 in Kwangnung Experimental Forest Station. In addition, we and estimated annual bole production, water content, wood density and nutrient content and compared the results with that of temperate ecosystem. Total dead wood biomass was estimated to be 5.6ton/ha in 1993 and 17.6ton/ha in 2002. Standing dead tree accounted for a total of 1.1ton/ha in 1993 and 4.8ton/ha in 2002, which was 20% and 27% of the sum of dead bole mass in 1993 and 2002, respectively. Annual production of bole biomass was 1.3 ton/ha/yr. These values fall into the low range of dead wood biomass for the mature temperate ecosystems. Tree species composing standing bole was mainly Quercus and Carpinus trees. This bole species composition resembles alive species composition of this forest. Water content of bole increased as positive logarithmically, but wood density of bole decreased as negative exponentially along with the progress of decay. N, P, Ca and Mg concentrations in decaying boles generally increased with decay, except for K. Annual nutrient input via dead bole is 1.6kg/ha/yr for N, 0.04 kg/ha/yr for P. 1.0 kg/ha/yr for K, 1.7kg/ha/yr for Ca and 0.3 kg/ha/yr for Mg, respectively.

녹나무목관 보존처리에 관한 연구 - Fenton 산화를 이용한 생재의 인공열화 연구 - (A Study for Conservation for the Wooden Coffin - Artificial Deterioration Using Fenton's Reagent -)

  • In the conservation treatment of wood remains, polymers, treatment methods, and treatment period can be varied, depending on the percentage of moisture content and species of trees. Thus, in order to apply the appropriate conservation treatment, a lot of information from the wood remains are required. Despite the information from the wood remains, testing a part of the wood remains is necessary to get information about the polymers. When the wooden coffin made of camphor trees was excavated, it was cracked in the section of radiation, and there were hairlines cracks. Therefore, without any conservation treatment, it is impossible to restore it. This experiment is for the conservation treatment of the wooden coffin excavated from Songhyun-dong tombs No 7, Changnyeong. For this experiment, I used camphor trees from Jejudo. The purpose of this experiment is to asses the possibility of preliminary testing materials before the conservation treatment on the wooden coffin. After the camphor trees from Jejudo are artificially aged by Fenton's reagent, they are As a result of oxidation by Fenton, the degree of oxidation is high in proportion to the amount of peroxide and iron sulfate. Among several samples, the sample 'na' made the most similar result to the wooden coffin from Songhyun-dong. If I use this condition to make the sample in polymer tests, it is very helpful to find the most suitable polymer for the conservation treatment of wooden coffin. After the same species of trees are oxidized by Fenton and they become the similar condition, we are able to find suitable methods of conservation treatment. The suitable methods reduce the demage of the remains and make us to get more information. Thus, we are able to carry out conservation treatment more exactly.

화학적 보강 방법에 따른 열화 종이의 보강 특성 (Strengthening Performance of Aged Papers with Chemical Strengthening Treatments)

  • Many historical archives have been deteriorated by aging with time. Various kinds of defects such as worm-hole, yellowing, brittleness are observed and their severity was dependent on raw material type, storage condition, and so on. For a long-term use and storage, a proper preservation treatment is required. Many studies on preservation and conservation have been carried out on hanji which was made from mulberry fiber, but there are few concerns on foreign paper. Therefore, aging and chemical strengthening treatment was done on paper made of bamboo and wood fibers depending on aging condition, the type and pickup weight of chemicals and treatment method. When methyl cellulose was treated with impregnation or brushing, the aged paper was strengthened effectively. The strengthening effect by chemicals was dependent on the aged condition of the paper.

기능성 재료를 사용한 콘크리트의 특성에 관한 연구 (A Research for the Property of the Concrete Using Functional Materials)

  • Building materials are trending toward environmental materials nowadays and the market share of those is growing. So those researches and developments for environmental property are proceeding now. The main properties of environmental products are far infrared emission, negative ion emission, electro magnetic wave shielding, and anti fungus, these products are used with shape of mortar, and spray on the finish material. But There are not much researches for the concrete, main material in construction field, with those functional properties. So in this research we evaluated slump, compressive strength and air content as basic properties for concrete using functional materials of sericite, wood pattern sand stone, carbon black and nanometric silver solution and functional properties like far infrared emission, negative ion emission, electro magnetic wave shielding, and anti fungus. The results were as follows. The most useful material in the functional materials was carbon black. Sericite and nanometric silver solution had a little effect on functional property, so it was difficult to apply to concrete, and wood pattern sand stone had a high functional property but low compressive strength, can be applied to a factory product. Anti fungus of the concrete using nanometric silver solution was not clear but if those specimens were aged in $CO_2$ gas for a long time it might apparent.
