The purpose of this study was to analyze the smart phone usage experience structure for college students. The phenomenology approach was used by conducting 4 times in-depth interviews with the 7 college students age between 20~23. Collected Data was analyzed by Giorgi's phenomenological method. There were 4 general structure descriptions and 28 themes. General structure descriptions were 'Dependence on smart phone', 'Phenomenon of smart phone usage', 'Results of smart phone usage' and 'Relationship between stress and smart phone'. Themes consisted of 'Ambivalence', 'Positive feelings for smart phones', 'Separation anxiety', 'Negative feelings for smart phones'. 'Dependent feelings for smart phones', 'A sense of unity with smart phones', 'Helpful for my life', 'Deeply involved with my life', 'Useful tool in my life', 'Study, communication, relaxation and health care', 'Maintain personal relationship', 'The most important thing in my life', 'Shallow relationship stress', 'Interference with personal relationship', 'Forming a negative relationship', 'Invasion of privacy', 'Forming a Incorrect relationship', 'Unwanted participation', 'No effort to improve relationship', 'Poor concentration', 'Interference with academic study', 'Study assistance', 'Limited help for study in depth', 'Shelter from the stress', 'Amplification of the stress', 'Obsessive focus', 'Feel separation for the reality' and 'Waste of time'. Smart phone usage make college students dependent on smart phones and had negative influence on both personal relationship and academic results. Usage of smart phone also amplified stress. Therefore we need fundamental principles on usage of smart phone and propose to build cultural etiquette that provides reasonable way to use smartphone.
This study was conducted for the purpose of analyzing volunteer workers' perceptions of and attitudes toward the behavior problems of the elderly residents after caring for the residents voluntarily at low-income nursing homes. Eleven male and female volunteers ranging from age 19 to 52 were asked how they felt about the elderly residents' behavior problems and what kind of behavioral problems they had experienced after doing volunteer works in the three chosen facilities. In particular, they were expected to explain what emotional changes they experienced during their volunteer service. In this study, it was observed that most of the elderly subjects experienced three categories of behavior problems: habitual, repetitious and unreasonable activities caused by the elderly residents' life span backgrounds, unexpected and/or abrupt behaviors resulting from gradual cognitive impairments, and physiological, awkward activities caused from gradual senility. The volunteers tend to believe that the elderly residents are naturally expected to act positively, since they have been provided with well- planned, regular care services such as bathing, counseling, activity programs, and religious guidances. On the other hand, some respondents stated that their experiences at the nursing homes caused them to form negative images of the elderly; they feel that the elderly are not helpful for giving advices on critical decisions, guiding and encouraging their daily lives, and offering any positive influences toward their own lives. Rather, they find themselves getting too much stressed as a result of their intimate contacts with demented or senile residents. Overall, in this study, it is proposed that education for confronting sudden abrupt behavior problems should be intensified more for female volunteers, since they tend to be more susceptible to emotional harassment resulting from the problem behaviors. It is also proposed that young volunteers who have not been systematically trained for confronting aggressive behaviors need to be separately assigned their roles in order to minimize the potential of confronting unseemly situations resulting from male residents whose mental health has deteriorated. Furthermore, it is also suggested that the combination of leisure-related activities for healthy residents and stressful intimate services for the frail residents be systematically planned and implanted for the volunteer program so that the volunteers can lessen the chances of suddenly finding themselves confronted with extremely abrupt agitations.
Major purposes of this study were to investigate the administration patterns of analgesics and sedatives in SICU and to identify the factors influencing the use of prn analgesics and sedatives by ICU nurses. The sample of this descriptive study was 50 adult patients in SICU and 53 ICU nurses. Patient's medical records were reviewed to investigate names, doses, the routes of administration, the interval of administration, and the type of prescription of sedatives and analgesics administered. Study medications were narcotics, hypnotics, and antipsychotics. To identify the factors influencing the use of prn analgesics and sedatives, 53 ICU nurses checked 9 items, and rank them from first to fifth. The selection of items was based on the previous studies and the experience of the investigator. The results of the study are as follows: 1. The mean age of the subjects was 53 years, 24 patients out of 50 subjects had received mechanical ventilation therapy. Most of the patients received neurosurgeries and abdominal surgeries. 2. For 4 days, 13 total study medications and combination of these were administered to the patients. Commonly prescribed drugs were Ketoprofen and Midazolam. Twenty six to fourty two percent of the patients did not receive any drugs for at least one day during the four days. 3. On the average, the study drugs were administerd 1.4 to 2.6 times per day during 4 days. 4. More than 50 percent of the prescription was as-needed (prn) except those of the POD 3. Fourteen percent of the patients did not have any prescription for sedation and pain control after surgery. 5. Examination of the frequency of sedatives and analgesics bolus administration revealed that a greater number of doses were given during daytime (from 7 am. to 7 pm.) than nighttime (from 7 pm. to 7 am.). The difference was significant at Alpha, .05. 6. First factor that most influenced nurses to administer sedatives and analgesics for intubated patients was the evaluation of patient's vital signs (51%). For non- intubated patients, the factors that nurses considered important were the patients' complaints of pain (64%) and evaluations of patients' vital signs (23%). In conclusion, the results of this study indicate that patients in SICU might not receive enough analgesics and sedatives to feel completely free from pain during the post operational period. Future study should be focused on the evaluation of the adequacy of current practice for pain and anxiety control in terms of the SICU patient's response.
Background: Auricular acupressure is one of the traditional health care treatments in oriental medicine. Approximately, 30~40% of the cancer patients have said to be suffering from insomnia and half of them having chronic and severe insomnia at the same time. Insomnia caused cancer patients feel more pain, fatigue, depression and anxiety and it sometimes let the power to have the best of cancer pull down. Objective: To investigate how effective the auricular acupressure treatment to cancer patients suffering from insomnia. Methods: We recruited participants from East-West Cancer Center of Daejeon University. Finally, of the people whose age range from 20 to 75, 12 patients who got less than 40 points from the score of Oh's sleeping score (OSS) were recruited. Single-blind, randomized pilot study was performed. The treatment group received auricular acupressure treatment (AAT) on active points and the control group had received sham acupressure treatment (SAT) for five times. Sleep parameters were checked by using OSS and numeric rating scale (NRS). We checked the scale everytime, both before and after treatment. We analyzed the data statistically by using independent T-test, paired T-test and analysis of variance (ANOVA) test. (p<0.05) Results: Twelve cancer patients participated in this pilot study and there was no significant difference between control and treatment group. Only 7 of them had completed the whole treatment process, 4 patients of AAT group and 3 participants of SAT. The OSS of AAT group had increased from $34.0{\pm}4.3$ to $39.5{\pm}3.1$ and that of SAT group had increased from $38.3{\pm}3.5$ to $40.0{\pm}0.0$. There was no significant difference between them. The NRS of AAT group had increased from $6.3{\pm}2.9$, $04.8{\pm}2.1$ and that of SAT group had increased from $7.0{\pm}1.0$ to $5.0{\pm}2.6$. No significant difference was observed between them. Conclusion: Although both groups did not show significant differences, most of the experimental participants showed increasing OSS and NRS after treatments. Significant participants' number will be needed in the next study.
This study made Soy-Sauce-Kimchi and investigated its pH, acidity, microorganism, salinity, chromaticity, viscosity and taste to revive traditional Soy-Sauce-Kimchi using Soy-Sauce instead of salt and to report its fermentation characteristics. As one of studies on traditional Kimchi, it tried for practical use of traditional Soy-Sauce-Kimchi which had been eaten in the middle region of Korea, especially in Seoul but currently has been prepared by only a few people and has disappeared gradually. According to the results of this study, among three groups of Soy-Sauce-Kimchi-I(s1), Soy- Sauce-Kimchi-II(s2) added by 2.5% sucrose and the control group(C), acidity of s2 was sharply increased after 24 hours and 72 hours at $20^{\circ}C$ and $10^{\circ}C$ respectively and there was few difference in salinity by temperature. In the case of s2 group, addition of 2.5% sucrose was considered to lead to increase of salinity. For chromaticity, while the L value and b value became larger after 48 hours, the a value tended to decline. Viscosity of s2 grew after 24 hours at all of $20^{\circ}C$, $10^{\circ}C$ and $1^{\circ}C$ and that was thought to be because propagation of bacteria such as Leuconostoc mesenteriodes following addition of 2.5% sucrose secreted dextransucrose so sucrose was transferred into dextran to increase viscosity. The total number of microorganisms was recorded to be largest after 48, 36 and 72 hours at $20^{\circ}C$, $10^{\circ}C$ and $1^{\circ}C$ respectively and the number of lactic acid bacteria was the largest at $1^{\circ}C$ after 72 hours compared to those at other temperatures. That was considered to be because microorganisms such as Leuconostoc mesenteriodes are psychrotropic lactic acid bacteria. For sensory evaluation, all appearance, chromaticity and odor of C were higher by $3{\sim}4$ points than those of s1 and s2(p < 0.001) and their feel also showed a similar tendency(p < 0.05). Considering the results of sensory evaluation, more researches were needed to overcome difference of taste for Soy-Sauce-Kimchi according to age due to characteristic flavor and smell of soy-source.
Objectives: This job analysis of a staff in charge of quit-smoking policy at public health centers aims at providing fundamental information to establish strategies supporting various quit-smoking. Methods: The job analysis of a staff in charge of quit-smoking policy at public health centers was carried out through DACUM(Development of Curriculum) method from April through May 2006. Three experts had developed job description with staffs in charge of quit-smoking policy at public health centers through two workshops. The survey was practiced for staff in charge of quit-smoking policy at the other public health centers. The characteristics of the staffs such as age, years for working at public health center, years for charging with quit-smoking work, the proportion of responsibility for quit-smoking work, were surveyed. The job description have been developed considering input-process-outcome axis and plan-do-evaluation axis for quit-smoking policy at public health centers. The final job description is composed of 3 missions, 7 accountabilities, 20 sub-work items. 2. The quit-smoking activity mostly focused at direct education and counselling. But planing and evaluation activity for quit-smoking have been under-achieved. 3. The staffs for quit-smoking policy were feel it is easy to educate and counsel to comer to public health centers for quit-smoking. But having the high proportion of responsibility for quit-smoking policy have usually difficult to do that. So they want to education about counselling for smoker. 4. The staffs who worked over the 2 years for quit-smoking policy the public health center have responded that investigate the smoking rate of the jurisdiction community and the problem of the culture about smoking and smoking policy is important. Conclusions: The study helps reinforcing the initiatives of central government for quit-smoking policy at public health centers. Especially staffs want education in technology area for counselling smoker. And they want nationwide supporting for investigating smoking rate and related factors at the local level.
The main purpose of this study is to explore the determinants of sex ratio imbalance at birth in Taegu which has experienced the extremely imbalanced sex ratio at birth since mid-1980s. This paper attempts to compare the determinants of sex ratio imbalance at birth, such as sex discrimination against women, son preference, prenatal sex identification followes by sex-selective induced abortions, among married women aged 25 to 44 in Taegu with those in Bay area, California in USA. The research is based on the survey data which were conducted in Taegu, Repulic of Korea and Bay area, California in USA. The findings of this analysis suggest that married women in Taegu are more likely to feel sex discrimination against women than married women in Bay area. Furthermore, the percentage of married women's effort for son bearing before pregnancy is much higher than that of married women in Bay area. We also have found that the percentage of sex-selective induced abortion in Taegu is six times higher than that of married women in Bay area. According to the logistic regression analysis, the determinants of sex-selective induced abortion among married women in Taegu are discrimination against women, son preference, prenatal sex identification. On the other hand, age is the only variable which has an important impact on sex-selective induced abortion among married women in Bay area. From the findings of this study, we can conclude that son preference based on Cofucianism is the most important impact on sex ratio imbalance at birth in Taegu where son preference is much stronger than other regions in Korea. The phenomenon of extremely imbalanced sex ratio at birth in Taegu is the result of combination of these factors, such as strong son preference, seeking to have at least one son within small family size, and prenatal sex identification followed by sex-selective induced abortion.
In this paper, we analyze the quality of life of children and adolescents with cancer. Separated children and adolescents to treat more than 293 patients myeongreul quit two years to analyze the quality of life. In most previous studies it was to compare the quality of life of the patient to feel the parent to evaluate the quality of life in children and adolescents with cancer. Or It was common practice to evaluate Pediatrics as a group. However, to evaluate a wide range of ages of children and adolescents cancer patients as a basis, there is a problem. Therefore, in the paper according to the degree language understanding and 10 to 12 years old and 13-20 years old classified as two groups. In addition, we use KMMQL-AF questionnaires written in korean. Accurate across the 10 local hospital the experts have described the extraction accompanied by an in-depth interview research surveys for data collection (15.07.2011 - 01.31.2012).

The purpose of this study is to investigate consumers' knowledge and preference towards functional cosmetics. Through the beauty advisors' surveys, their own selling styles and consumer behaviors recognized by beauty advisors were analyzed. It was intended to help extend and strengthen the functional cosmetic market which has continued to grow rapidly since the approved goods under cosmetic law in 2001. For this study, the data was collected through questionnaires the professional consumer counselors confirmed from Korean women over the age. of twenty old living in the Seoul and Kyoungki areas. After pre-research was implemented on 45 women, 328 samples were analyzed as final samples. In addition,46 samples, which were collected through the questionnaires from beauty advisors were analyzed. Samples were analyzed by frequency, percentage, T-test, ANOVA using the SPSS program. The results of study were as follows: First consumers recognized whether functional cosmetics or not. According to the beauty advisor's surveys, consumers regard the functional cosmetic boundary as being wider than real functional cosmetic boundary according to cosmetic law. So, there is a gap between consumers' opinions and real law. Second, regarding the purchasing channels, the largest channel is the cosmetic store. As far as consumers are concerned the most important factor when buying cosmetics, is the suitability of their own skin types. The second factor is product quality and the third factor is price. Functional cosmetics non-experienced group are more concerned with price compared to experienced group. Related to purchasing products, functional cosmetics experienced group buy set products compared to non-experienced group buy one product. Third, the ultraviolet filter cosmetics portion is the largest in the functional cosmetics market the second largest portion is bleaching cosmetics and the third largest portion is the anti-senility cosmetics. However, Most preferred by consumers is the anti-senility cosmetics. Moreover, preference for ultraviolet filter cosmetics is the least. Finally, the level of satisfaction for functional cosmetics is high and dissatisfaction is low. Consumers feel that beauty advisors are simply pushing high priced products without recognizing the consumers' real needs. In conclusion, to develop the functional cosmetic market continually in the future, it needs to extend various products and advertise them until consumers are more aware.
Illustration has been used as a means of human communication since the primitive age. And now it has become a way to express impliedly either the fragmentary or the psychological side of our life. Like it has been said in peter knock's Illustration magazine, an artist said "it was the best article ever read." Illustrator's task is to abstract and practically describe not our daily life, but every moment of the perception an object, whether it is define or indefine. It can inspire stronger perception than any other elegant language. Addition to that the practical use of illustration is increasing ever day. The target has now become various such as man, nature, art, science and so on. Therefore, at this point what illustration requires is creation, new and striking idea. It is because in order to get in to the general's living in the complicate and various society, it must show unique images and appearance. Therefore, now the illustration should induce the work which is based on synetics thoughts, not simple improving skill. Now we must restrain futional and diagrammatic illustration education and be able to thik of free and abundant characteristics. It will eventually help students to feel the value of human life and free themselves from the reality of present education which is getting machinized and instrumentalized.entalized.
