과학 관련 태도의 타당한 측정을 위한 연구 II - "과학에 대한 태도"의 감정적 요소 측정을 위한 척도 개발- (A Study of Valid Measurement in Science Related Attitudes (II) - To Develop an Affective Component of Attitudes toward Science Scale-)

  • The purpose of this study was twofold: (1) to design a system for constructing Likert attitude scales as supported by the sociopsychological and measurement literature, and (2) (using the design) to develop an affective component of "Attitudes toward Science" scale for high school students. The rationale for developing a new attitude scale is presented in the context of a review of existing attitude scales. As discussed in the literature review, many existing attitude scales are based on ill-defined theoretical constructs, and includes statements that do not appear to be assessing a single construct of attitude toward science. In addition, existing attitude scales do not distinguish between affective and behavioral and cognitive components of attitude toward science. Thus, this study was to carefully define the construct, subcomponents of attitude toward science, and develop an affective component of "Attitude toward Science" scale to reflect the construct and to distinguish between affective and behavioral and cognitive components of attitude toward science. The results of this study: (1) three-mains step for designing reliable and valid attitude scale were developed, and (2) 35 items(16 positive and 19 negative) for an affective component of "Attitudes toward Science" scale with the following characteristics were developed: (a) The internal consistency was estimated using Cronbach's coefficient ${\alpha}$, 0.9727. (b) The range of adjusted item-total correletion(${\gamma}$-value) were 0.58${\sim}$0.83. (c) The correlation coefficient ranged between 0.61 and 0.74 revealing a moderate relatedness between subcomponents. (d) The correlation coefficient for concurrent validity were 0.55 with TOSRA and 0.51 with SAl.

인테리어 내장재의 고급감에 관한 시각 및 촉각변수의 수량화 모형 개발 (Development of Quantification Models on Visual and Tactile Design Characteristics for the Luxuriousness of Interior Covering Materials)

  • Affective aspects of design attributes such as color, Pattern, and texture are important to the overall impression and the success of interior products. Among all the interior materials, wallpapers and flooring materials take up largest construction area and they are main components in creating affective impression for customers. This study aims to investigate the relationship between luxuriousness and related affective variables and design elements of wallpapers and flooring materials. The approach consists of 3 steps: (1) selecting related affective features and product design attributes through a literature survey, opinion of expert panel, and focus group interview, (2) conducting evaluation experiments, and (3) developing Kansei models using multivariate statistical analysis and analyzing critical attributes. Evaluation experiment was conducted using a questionnaire made up of 7-point scale and 100-point scale and 30 housewives and 20 interior designers participated in the evaluation experiment. The result of evaluation was analyzed through principal component regression and quantification I analysis. As a result of analyzing the survey data, the relationship between luxuriousness and related affective features and product design attributes was identified, moreover a optimal combination of the design component was identified. Consequently, it is expected that the results of the study would be a basis of the concept of emotion-based design by giving insights about how customers perceive the luxuriousness and suggesting the optimal combination, and providing specific quantitative design guidelines.

Impacts of Community Commitment on Brand Equity Creation in Company-Initiated Online Brand Communities

  • With the emergence of online communities, the role of online communities in establishing brand equity has been greatly emphasized. In order to enhance our understanding of commitment in online brand communities, the present study attempts to investigate how three dimensions of community commitment (continuance, affective, and normative commitment) influence each component of brand equity (brand awareness, brand association, perceived quality, and brand loyalty) in the context of company-initiated online brand community. An online survey was conducted with a sample of online brand community members. The results found differential impacts of three types of community commitment on brand equity components, emphasizing the role of continuance and affective commitment. Continuance community commitment positively influenced brand awareness and brand association. Affective community commitment positively affected perceived quality, while among the three, only continuance and affective community commitment influenced the enhancement of brand loyalty. The results suggest that brand marketers need to focus on continuance and affective commitment factors in their online communities to effectively enhance brand equity possessed by consumers. Theoretical and managerial implications are provided.

아름다운 얼굴의 감성적 특징 (The affective components of facial beauty)

  • 한국인 20대 여성 얼굴의 DB에서 얼굴의 물리적 특징을 고루 반영하는 대표적인 얼굴들을 선정하고 감성 및 미모 평정을 실시하여 아름다운 얼굴의 감성 특징을 파악하였다. 연구 1에서는 얼굴 감성 평정을 요인 분석하였으며, 그 결과 두 개의 요인으로 전체 변량의 약 65%를 설명할 수 있었다. 이들 두 요인은 각각 샤프(sharp) 요인과 소프트(soft) 요인으로 명명되었다. 연구 2에서는 각 얼굴들에 대해 감성 평정과 미모 평정을 실시하고 둘 간의 상관을 내보았는데, 얼굴 미모는 소프트한 느낌보다는 샤프한 느낌과 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 연구 3에서는 얼굴 합성법을 이용하여 합성 이미지에 대해 미모 평정과 감성 평정을 실시하였다. 그 결과 미인들을 평균한 '상위 평균' 이미지가 '전체 평균' 이미지보다 아름답다고 평가되었으며, 그보다는 약하지만 '상위 평균' 이미지를 과장한 '상위 + 50' 이미지가 '상위 평균' 이미지보다 더 아름답다고 평가되었다. 감성 평정 결과, 전반적으로 '전체 평균' 이미지는 소프트한 느낌을, '상위 평균' 이미지는 샤프한 느낌을 지니고 있는 것으로 나타났으며, '상위 + 50' 이미지는 양쪽 느낌을 고루 지니고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 아름다운 얼굴이 감성적 특징과 연결될 수 있는 독특한 물리적 특징을 지니고 있으며 이 물리적 특징의 과장이 이중적인 감성 특징을 유발하고 더 아름답게 평정될 수 있음을 시사한다.

뇌기반 진화적 과학 교수학습 모형의 개발 (Development of a Model of Brain-based Evolutionary Scientific Teaching for Learning)

  • 이 연구에서는 뇌기반 진화적 교육 원리를 도출하기 위하여, 인간 뇌의 구조적 기능적 특징, 개체간과 개체내에서 일어나는 생물학적 진화, 뇌내에서 일어나는 진화적 과정, 과학 자체와 개별 과학자의 과학적 활동에 내재된 진화적 속성에 관한 연구물을 리뷰하였다. 이렇게 하여 도출된 인간 뇌의 주요 특징과 생성-선택-파지를 핵심 요소로 하는 보편 다윈주의 혹은 보편 선택주의를 토대로, 뇌기반 진화적 과학 교수 학습 모형을 개발하였다. 이 모형은 세 가지 요소와 세 가지 단계 및 평가로 이루어진다. 세 가지 요소는 정의적, 행동적, 인지적 요소이고, 각 요소를 구성하는 세 단계는 다양화 $\rightarrow$ 비교 선택 $\rightarrow$ 확장 적용(ABC-DEF; Affective, Behavioral, Cognitive components - Diversifying$\rightarrow$Emulating, Estimating, Evaluating $\rightarrow$ Furthering steps)이다. 이 모형에서 정의적 요소 (A)는 인간 뇌에서 감성을 관장하는 대뇌변연계에 토대를 두고 자연 사물과 현상에 대한 학습자의 흥미 호기심과 관련된다. 행동적 요소(B)는 시각 정보를 처리하는 후두엽, 언어 정보의 이해.생성과 관련된 측두엽, 감각운동 정보를 처리하는 감각운동령을 수반하고 과학적 활동의 직접 해보기와 관련된다. 인지적 요소(C)는 사고, 계획, 판단, 문제해결과 관련된 전두엽합령에 토대를 둔다. 이 모형은 이러한 측면에서 '뇌기반(brain-based)'이다. 이 모형의 세 가지 각 요소를 구성하는 세 단계에서, 다양화 단계(D)는 각 요소에서 다양한 변이체를 생성하는 과정이고, 가치나 유용성에 비추어 비교.선택하는 단계(E)는 변이체들 중 유용하거나 가치 있는 것을 검증하여 선택하는 과정이며, 확장.적용 단계(F)는 선택된 것을 유사한 상황으로 확장하거나 적용하는 단계이다. 이 모형은 이러한 측면에서 '진화적(evolutionary)'이다. ABC 세 요소에 대해, 과학적 활동에서 감성적 요인이 출발점으로 갖는 중요성과 뇌에서 사고 기능과 관련되는 신피질에 비해 감성을 관장하는 대뇌변연계의 우세한 역할을 반영하여 DARWIN (Driving Affective Realm for Whole Intellectual Network) 접근법을 강조한다. 이 모형은 학교 현장에서 다루는 과학 주제와 학생의 특징에 따라 다양한 형태와 수준으로 융통성 있게 실행될 수 있다.

Use of Word Clustering to Improve Emotion Recognition from Short Text

  • Emotion recognition is an important component of affective computing, and is significant in the implementation of natural and friendly human-computer interaction. An effective approach to recognizing emotion from text is based on a machine learning technique, which deals with emotion recognition as a classification problem. However, in emotion recognition, the texts involved are usually very short, leaving a very large, sparse feature space, which decreases the performance of emotion classification. This paper proposes to resolve the problem of feature sparseness, and largely improve the emotion recognition performance from short texts by doing the following: representing short texts with word cluster features, offering a novel word clustering algorithm, and using a new feature weighting scheme. Emotion classification experiments were performed with different features and weighting schemes on a publicly available dataset. The experimental results suggest that the word cluster features and the proposed weighting scheme can partly resolve problems with feature sparseness and emotion recognition performance.

뇌파를 활용한 사용자의 감정 분류 알고리즘 (The Classification Algorithm of Users' Emotion Using Brain-Wave)

  • 본 연구에서는 사용자에게서 취득한 뇌파의 감정분류를 시행하였고, SVM(Support Vector Machine)과 K-means 알고리즘으로 분류실험을 하였다. 뇌파 신호는 측정 한 32개의 채널 중에서, 이전 연구에서 감정분류가 뚜렷하게 나타났던 CP6, Cz, FC2, T7, PO4, AF3, CP1, CP2, C3, F3, FC6, C4, Oz, T8, F8의 총 15개의 채널을 사용하였다. 감정유도는 DVD 시청과 IAPS(International Affective Picture System)라는 사진 자극 방법을 사용하였고, 감정분류는 SAM(Self-Assessment Manikin) 방법을 사용하여 사용자의 감정상태를 파악하였다. 취득된 사용자의 뇌파신호는 FIR filter를 사용하여 전처리를 하였고, ICA(Independence Component Analysis)를 사용하여 인공산물(eye-blink)을 제거하였다. 전처리된 데이터를 FFT를 통하여 주파수 분석을 하여 특징추출(feature extraction) 하였다. 마지막으로 분류알고리즘을 사용하여 실험을 하였는데, K-means는 70%의 결과를 도출하였고, SVM은 71.85%의 결과를 도출하여 정확도가 더 우수하였으며, 이전의 SVM을 사용했던 연구결과와 비교분석하였다.

靑少年의 海洋에 관한 關心度의 分析的 硏究 (A Study on Analyzing the Interest of the Youth to the Sea)

  • How does the youth feel the sea affairs\ulcorner Concerning this question, this paper aims to measure the images of the youth toward the sea affairs - the sea, the ship and the seafarer and to examined the above subject. As sample 3, 250 students of middle and high school were selected by considering geographical environment. The data obtained using Semantic Differential Method were analyzed by principal component analysis, and the obtained factor scores were examined the significance of difference between sex, age and geographical environment. By introducing the principal component analysis, the authors extracted from each of the images, that is, factors of dynamics and affection to the image on these a and the former the factors and pleasure on the ship, and also the former two factors and factor of professional evaluation on the seafarer, The following results are obtained. 1) In the image of the sea, dynamic image of the student in high school were higher than the of the student in middle school in spite of geographic environment and affective image were opposite. 2) In the images of the ship, affective image of the student in middle school and high school in inland were high than the of the male and female student in near the sea. And also, male female students in middle school and male student s in high school of inland showed the highest score to the pleasure image. 3) In the image of the seafare, professional evaluation of the female student in middle school were higher than the others, but the students in high school showed the highest score to dynamic image. Especially, in the case of the majority of students in high school living in the city or town near the, their images of the seafarer were not so good in spite of their explorative experiences about the sea affairs.

강건 설계기법을 이용한 자동차 게이지 클러스터의 디자인 요소와 고객 감성에 관한 연구 (Effects of Design Factors of the Instrument Cluster Panel on Consumers' Affection Applying Robust Design)

  • It is known from consumer surveys that the interior design of cars greatly influences on consumers' affection. Most notably, the instrument panel which occupies the driver's attention while driving would be one of the main components that affect consumer's affection, but the designer does not often put due importance to this design component. The purpose of this study is to define consumers' affection on the instrument cluster panel in terms of its design factors: color of panel lighting and layout of meters as independent factors. Semantic differentials or affective adjectives that are related to the instrument panel were first derived from surveys, existing studies and the available literature. Then, representative affective factors were drawn using factor analysis and multi-dimensional scaling (MDS). Evaluation of the instrument panel was performed and analyzed by Taguchi's robust design to provide more robust results under various noise factors which are color and material of car interior. Experiment revealed that consumers had five affective factors on the instrument panel and luxurious, charming, and visible affections are grouped into a factor and unique and dynamic affections in another factor. Evaluation of the instrument panel by Taguchi's robust design found that the white color of panel lighting and the panel with four meters was the most preferred design in terms of both the affection of luxury and uniqueness.
