  • We studied the human visual performance with PDP and LCD to clarify the relationships between viewer preference and chromatic adaption. In this paper, optical performance of the display is measured mechanically based on standard. The human visual performance about the display color image quality trough optical process is represented numerically based on CIECAM02. By comparing these results with the result of the questionnaire, performance of the display can be evaluated in detail.

  • Owing to the strike of lightning a breakage of insulator would happen. This breakage may give rise to many problems such as increment of reclosing failure, a drop for reliance and a hardship of maintenance and repair. To solve those problem, this study develop a protected equipment for insulator which is suitable to 22.9kV distribution line towers and is purposed to investigation for a proper adaption, protection efficiency of insulator and effect of adaption.

  • The Pattern Sequence-based Forecasting (PSF) is an approach to forecast the behavior of time series based on similar pattern sequences. The innovation of PSF method is to convert the load time series into a label sequence by clustering technique in order to lighten computational burden. However, it brings about a new problem in determining the number of clusters and it is subject to insufficient similar days occasionally. In this paper we proposed an adaption of the PSF method, which introduces a new clustering index to determine the number of clusters and imposes a threshold to solve the problem caused by insufficient similar days. Our experiments showed that the proposed method reduced the mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) about 15%, compared to the PSF method.

  • Casual games are often have simple rule and easy to play. Like Angry birds, players can sling a bird as a bomb to destroy target. But the film adaption encounters numerous questions. games in pursuit of strong sensed presence, pay attention to experience; film stress the integrity of the story, attaches great importance to plot. However, casual games don't have story and plot. This paper take angry birds as example, analyzes the difficulties and method of adaptation from leisure mobile games to films, summarizes the key successful elements of adaption, such as subdivided the target group, chose an appropriate genre, write a script follow the basic logic and frame of film, set contradiction, complicated the character and still contain key elements of the game, in order to provide new ideas in the future development of integration of game and movie industry.

  • Despite recent breakthroughs in deep learning and computer vision fields, the pixel-wise identification of tiny objects in high-resolution images with complex disturbances remains challenging. This study proposes a modified U-net for tiny crack segmentation in real-world steel-box-girder bridges. The modified U-net adopts the common U-net framework and a novel Self-Attention-Self-Adaption (SASA) neuron as the fundamental computing element. The Self-Attention module applies softmax and gate operations to obtain the attention vector. It enables the neuron to focus on the most significant receptive fields when processing large-scale feature maps. The Self-Adaption module consists of a multiplayer perceptron subnet and achieves deeper feature extraction inside a single neuron. For data augmentation, a grid-based crack random elastic deformation (CRED) algorithm is designed to enrich the diversities and irregular shapes of distributed cracks. Grid-based uniform control nodes are first set on both input images and binary labels, random offsets are then employed on these control nodes, and bilinear interpolation is performed for the rest pixels. The proposed SASA neuron and CRED algorithm are simultaneously deployed to train the modified U-net. 200 raw images with a high resolution of 4928 × 3264 are collected, 160 for training and the rest 40 for the test. 512 × 512 patches are generated from the original images by a sliding window with an overlap of 256 as inputs. Results show that the average IoU between the recognized and ground-truth cracks reaches 0.409, which is 29.8% higher than the regular U-net. A five-fold cross-validation study is performed to verify that the proposed method is robust to different training and test images. Ablation experiments further demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed SASA neuron and CRED algorithm. Promotions of the average IoU individually utilizing the SASA and CRED module add up to the final promotion of the full model, indicating that the SASA and CRED modules contribute to the different stages of model and data in the training process.

  • An Adaptation algorithm is presented and a convergence criterion is derived for parallel model reference adaptive bilinear systems. The output error converges asymptotically to zero, and the parameter estimates are bounded for stable reference models. The convergence criterion depends only upon the input sequence and a priori estimates of the maximum parameter values.

  • Intrusion detection is very important for network situation awareness. While a few methods have been proposed to detect network intrusion, they cannot directly and effectively utilize semi-quantitative information consisting of expert knowledge and quantitative data. Hence, this paper proposes a new detection model based on a directed acyclic graph (DAG) and a belief rule base (BRB). In the proposed model, called DAG-BRB, the DAG is employed to construct a multi-layered BRB model that can avoid explosion of combinations of rule number because of a large number of types of intrusion. To obtain the optimal parameters of the DAG-BRB model, an improved constraint covariance matrix adaption evolution strategy (CMA-ES) is developed that can effectively solve the constraint problem in the BRB. A case study was used to test the efficiency of the proposed DAG-BRB. The results showed that compared with other detection models, the DAG-BRB model has a higher detection rate and can be used in real networks.
