교사 참여형 교육프로그램(TPEP)을 경험한 초등교사의 과학 수업 전문성 변화 사례 - 시각적 주의를 중심으로 - (The Case Study of Elementary School Teachers Who Have Experienced Teacher Participation-oriented Education Program (TPEP) for Elementary School Teachers to Improve Class Expertise in Science Classes - Focusing on Visual Attention -)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the effect of Teacher Participation-oriented Education Program (TPEP) for Elementary School Teachers to Improve Class Expertise in Science Classes with a focus on visual attention. The participants were two elementary school teachers in Seoul and taught science subjects. The lesson topic applied to this study were 'Structure and Function of Our Body' in the second semester of fifth grade and 'Volcano and Earthquake' in the second semester of fourth grade. The mobile eye tracker SMI's ETG 2w, which is a binocular tracking system was used in this study. In this study, the actual practice time, participant's visual attention, visual intake time average, and visual intake time average were analyzed by class phase. The results of the study are as follows. First, as a result of analyzing the actual class execution time, the actual class execution time was almost in line with the lesson plan after the TPEP application. Second, visual attention in the areas related to teaching and learning activities was high after applying TPEP. Factors affecting the progress of the class and cognitive burdens were identified quantitatively and objectively through visual attention. Third, as a result of analyzing the visual intake time average of participants, there was a statistically significant difference in all classes. Fourth, as a result of analyzing the visual intake time average of participants, the results were statistically significant in the introduction(video), activity 1, activity 2, and activity 3 stages in the lecture type class. The Teacher Participation-oriented Education Program (TPEP) for Elementary School Teachers to Improve Class Expertise in Science Classes can extend elementary science class expertise such as self-class analysis, eye tracking, linguistic, gesture, and class design beyond traditional class analysis and consulting.

Attempt of Mechanical Clock Design and Making as PBL Subject

  • The mechanical clock was designed and produced by students as a trial theme of PBL class. The limit of making time is three weeks and main material is limited to paper. Only a basic mechanism drawing is given. As the principle of mechanical clock is not complex and does not need the special knowledge of mechanical engineering, even lower grade student seems to understand enough. This subject can train the skill of knowledge composition, creativity and the problem-solving ability. After execution,the validity and performance as the theme of PBL class was evaluated. As a result, the following findings were obtained. The paper made mechanical clock could be produced in three weeks. And, by additional improvements of the product, the enough strength and stable movement were achieved. Students can learn that many kinds of knowledge through actual experiences of design and making were required in manufacturing the real products. The proposed PBL style class is suitable as an introduction and training subject for lower grade student in department of engineering.

식생활교육지원법 실시 이후 초등학교 식생활 교육 실태 및 인식 (The Actual Conditions and Recognition of Dietary Life Education in Elementary School after Execution of the Dietary Life Education Support Act)

  • The goal of this study was to provide basic data for the future development of dietary life education in elementary schools by understanding the current conditions of the program after the execution of the Dietary Life Education Support Act. We conducted a survey to understand dietary teachers' recognition of dietary life education in elementary schools. We found that teachers' recognition was low and that dietary life education in elementary schools is still carried out indirectly by focusing on nutrition knowledge. Dietary life education is carried out during lunch time and dietary life-related class hours. However teachers of lower class levels did not have any practical subject related to dietary life and responded that a lack of time devoted to dietary life education was the biggest problem with the program. Most teachers responded that dietary life education in elementary schools is necessary for the formation of students' sound dietary habits, and that the development of a system of teachers directly responsible for dietary life education is necessary. In the past, dietary life education has typically been carried out at home, but now schools are required to play a role because of family nuclearization and the increase in working couples. Therefore, to revitalize dietary life education programs in elementary schools according to the Dietary Life Education Support Act, we suggest more systematic and segmentalized studies.

슈퍼컴퓨터 최적 실행 지원을 위한 하드웨어 성능 카운터 기반 프로파일링 기법의 확장성 연구 (A Study on Scalability of Profiling Method Based on Hardware Performance Counter for Optimal Execution of Supercomputer)

  • 한정된 자원을 여러 사용자에게 공유해야하는 슈퍼컴퓨터와 같은 시스템은 응용프로그램의 실행을 최적화하는 방안이 필요하다. 이를 위해 시스템 관리자가 수행할 응용프로그램에 대한 사전 정보를 파악하는 것이 유용하다. 대부분의 고성능 컴퓨팅 시스템 운영에 있어 작업을 실행할 때 사용자로부터 실행 기간, 자원 요구사항들에 대한 정보를 제공 받거나 시스템 사용 통계 값을 사용하여 필요한 정보를 생성하는 등의 프로파일링 기술을 바탕으로 시스템 활용률을 높이는데 활용하고 있다. 본 논문의 선행연구에서는 하드웨어 성능 카운터를 이용하여 소스코드에 대한 별도의 이해 없이 응용프로그램 특성분석을 실행하고, 이 결과를 바탕으로 작업 스케줄링 알고리즘을 최적화하는 기술을 개발한 바 있다. 본 논문에서는 슈퍼컴퓨터 최적 실행지원을 위한 프로파일링 테스트베드 클러스터를 구축하고 구축한 클러스터 환경에서 하드웨어 성능 카운터를 기반으로 응용프로그램의 특성을 분석하는 프로파일링 기법의 확장성을 실험하였다. 이를 통해 응용프로그램의 문제크기를 축소하거나 프로파일링에 사용되는 노드수를 최소화하여도 개발한 하드웨어 성능 카운터 기반의 프로파일링 기법이 확장성 있게 동작하여 실제 스케줄링 최적화시에 활용될 수 있음을 보이고자 한다. 실험을 통해 프로파일링에 사용되는 노드의 수를 1/4로 줄여도 전체 노드를 사용한 프로파일링 대비 응용프로그램의 실행 시간이 1.08% 증가할 뿐 스케줄링 최적화 성능은 순차실행 대비 최대 37% 향상되었다. 또한 응용프로그램의 문제크기를 축소하여 프로파일링한 결과 프로파일링 데이터 수집 단계의 시간적 비용을 1/4배 이상 낮추면서 최대 35% 성능 향상 효과를 얻었다.
