The purpose of this study was to analyze the elementary teachers' conceptions on the inquiry activity about 'make a fossil model' focusing the 6th, 7th, 2007 revised, and 2009 revised elementary science textbook. This study is intended to find causes of teachers' conceptions and to derive educational implications. We have analyzed questionnaires which were collected from 77 elementary school teachers. It was carried out about comparisons actual fossil with fossil model in each step of the inquiry activity, the lesson goal, the thought for changes of the inquiry activity, the improvement of the inquiry and conception related fossil. Teachers have a general understanding about the contents of the inquiry activity but some of them have partially incorrect understanding. And they emphasize the understanding of the concept on lesson goal. It is necessary to improve inquiry activity reflecting teachers' thinking about the merit and weaknesses. There was not statistically difference in understanding of fossil related concepts according to teachers' career, teaching or training experience. Through this research, there is a need to improve a textbook, a guide book, a teachers' training. So, teachers who have professionalism about science textbook be able to teach students.

For the public library reading revitalization in this study it is to review program development examples which is differentiated by own library from the existing reading education and reading program. Based on the specialized program examples it intended suggesting a method of reading revitalization, after reviewing enlarged specialized function in the existing public library function, and analyzing related the reading activity status concerning with Seoul city public library, 'One Library One Book Reading' activity and U. S. A public library. Also, this study suggested future public library reading revitalization through the specialized quality service program development and construction related reading.

Vibrio become prevailing if superficial temperature of ocean is raised and their activities of area are expanded and most of ocean creatures(fishes, oysters etc) are polluted with vibrio. The one who has taken these polluted fishes and oysters uncooked caused foodpoisoning and diarrhea from Vibrio. Frequently these diseases breakout is disposed in westsea shore of Korea. According to ancient and traditional Korean medical book - Kumkue Yorak - and their single, we carried out experiment check the activities of natural medicinal effects on Vibrio parahemolyticus. The prescriptions of trial materials are processed from extraction boiling water and 80% methanol and followed by freeze dried and adsorbed to every discs in dosage of 10mg. Gentamycin of 10mg were used for control. The result of compound prescription displayed special diseases in antimicrobial activities of boiling water and MeOH extraction compared with control. In single prescription, extraction of boiling water and MeOH of Schisandra sphenanthera(clear zone : 15mm) presented extraordinal antimicrobial activity. The MBC of Schisandra sphenanthera extracts was expressed 2.56mg/ml in boiling water and MeOH.

The purpose of this study was to conduct content analysis on expression activity section in the physical education textbooks of 2009 curriculum revision and provide a basis for future middle school physical education. in order to accomplish the purpose of this study, 5 different kinds of physical education textbook. The physical education textbooks were examined through the comparative analysis and previous studies conducted for selections of the analysis bases. The results were as follows. First, textbooks devoted the space from 14.1 to 17.3%. In deployment and configuration of the section, each textbooks were used variety of methods, photographs and illustrations for motivations and advanced learning. Second, the instructional objectives were presented 4-6 each text book including expression activity concepts, understanding expression methods, personal competence reinforcement through creative activity, and watching performances. Learning contents were to focus on the concepts of aesthetic component in the esthetical expression, to highlight creative component in the modern expression, to express characteristic dances through understanding of the culture in the traditional expression. lastly, the middle assessments hight the understanding of each contents but small assessments focus on attitudes of character education.

The objective of this research was to study the optical illusion effect and the difference of image of textile pattern design. This research also tried to show the more useful method to make stimulus by computer simulation and to present quantitative data. For the experiment, 3 design variable were selected from design principal book as follows : size, arrangement and value harmony of motive. Size of motive variable was divided into 3 level so by use of check & dot pattern, arrangement of motive variable was manipulated to vias direction for check pattern and value harmony between motive & base color was classified into similar value harmony and contrasting value harmony. Visual stimuli which same model was wearing each design were created by ENVISION program. This photographs were given to evaluating panels, Then panels compared experiment design by slim effect and evaluated for 5-sementic differential scale expressing clothing image. The results were as follows : 1) There were significant difference is slim effect, clothing image as simplicity and boldness according to size of Motive. 2) Arrangement of motive for check pattern had significant effects on slim , clothing images as activity and attractiveness. 3) Case of low value base color and high value dot color has significant high score on slim effect, activity, attractiveness, boldness and youthful image.

The students were instructed to prepare the materials for the reading discussion as they read books by the analytical reading, in order to make them know the efficient method of the reading discussion as activity of after reading. As the results, They understood the plot and substance of the book, comprehend the whole subject and selected the subject of the discussion better after they read books by the analytical reading than after they didn't. But it's not satisfactory to communicate their own ideas mutually during the reading discussion as before.

The school library plays an important role to improve the student's mental activity and cultivate the formation of character and emotion. Especially in the information society, the students must collect, select and utilize the necessary information themselves. The school library has to collect, put in order and keep the book, audiovisual material and necessary information beyond it about the entire education and to offer the students and teachers them for the general school education. The school library has to be a center of school education and drive forwards the spontaneous and subjective learning activity as well as progress the education process. The school library must be the place to preserve the student's subjective study ability, that is, consolidate the materials as the study center and be composed of proper study materials for the solving-problem and research. Also to be perfect in the role of the information center, the school library has to be consolidated in accordance with development of various information softwares and ways including the newspaper, magazine, video, CD, laser disk and computer. It is required for the information of school library to be corresponded actively to the multi-media society.

This study examines fourth graders engaged in three concrete activities involving sampling from finite populations. The first included a survey of popular foods for school meals. The second had them take samples from a box containing white and black marbles to predict how many white and black marbles were in the box. The final activity required them to predict how many times the Korean letter '가' would appear in a Korean story book. The results show that the participants can experience and notice different ideas related to samples and sampling in different activities. In the first activity, they acknowledged that samples are useful for obtaining the information about populations. A population survey is difficult and is not overly useful. In the second activity, they recognized that samples cannot be identical to their population but that the information from a group of samples is similar to the information of the population. In the last activity, they devised some ideas about random sampling even though the ideas were immature.

In single prescription, extraction of boiling water(clear zone : 16mm) and MeOH(clear zone : 18mm) of Fructus Chebulae presented extraordinaire antimicrobial activity. The MBC of Fructus Chebulae extracts was expressed in boiling water(1.28mg/ml) and MeOH(0.64mg/ml).

To isolate antibiotic-producing microorganisms from Korean soils, microbes were isolated from the soil samples and screened for antibacterial activity. A strain which was isolated from the soil sample collected in Choong Chung Book Do had a high antibacterial activity against gram-positive bacteria. The examination of morphological and physiological characteristics of that strain according to the International Streptomyces Project methods showed that it was one of Streptomyces species. After the antibacterial constituent of the strain was produced in submerged culture method, it was isolated and purified by XAD-2 and CM-Sephadex column chromatography. And it was found to be one of quinone type antibiotics.
