  • The miscibility between acrylic copolymers and tackifier resins influenced on adhesion properties of PSA. PSA with high molecular weight and narrow molecular weight distribution of acrylic copolymers showed systemical modification of adhesion properties of PSA by tackifier resins only in case of miscible system. It is concluded that the investigation of the miscibility between two Components is very important to adhesion properties of PSA.

  • In this study, acrylic rubber pressure sensitive adhesives was polymerized with 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, styrene, butadiene, 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate, and acrylic acid by controlling the initiator content. The initial tackiness, peel strength, holding power, and heat resistance of the PSAs were investigated by changing the content of tackifier and curing agent. The results showed that the initial tackiness and peel strength increased as the content of tackifier increased, whereas the holding power decreased. Also, the results exhibited that that the initial tackiness, peel strength, and heat resistance decreased as the content of curing agent increased, whereas the holding power and decreased.

  • The reactive compatibilization of amorphous poly-${\alpha}$-olefins (APAO)/amorphous polyamide (aPA) blends was carried out using two kinds of reactive compatibilizers such as maleated polypropylene and ethylene-glycidyl methacrylate-methyl acrylate copolymer. The grafting reaction rates between aPA and the compatibilizers were examined using FT-IR, SEM and rheometer. The effect of the reactive compatibilization on the mechanical property of the blends was investigated with a universal testing machine. The adhesion strength of the blends including a hydrocarbon tackifier resin, C9 was also measured.
